- The tales from the Hudson band
Michael Brecker: sax
Pat Metheny: guitar
Joey Calderazzo:piano
Dave Holland: bass
Jack DeJohnette:drums
Live in Tokyo 1997
The great thing about Pat is how much he absorbs and enjoys what everybody else is contributing-true sign of a real musician.
TOTALLY AGREE !! HE IS SO UNSELFISH WITH HIS TIME AND LOVE OF MUSIC -IT MUST BE TRULY GREAT TO PLAY WITH HIM . DJEJ
that and the whole never playing anything that even remotely sounds bad thing....
@@TorySlusher Good one 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The interaction between Saxophone, and band, is purely cosmic. It all compliments each other, so perfectly. This caliber of musicianship, always delivers.
could not have said it better myself self
Yeaaahhhh...... kids, listen, this is how you do it!
One of the Best MR PAT & MICHAEL. BOTH OF YOU ARE GIFTED GOD BLESS YOU IN THE NAME OF THE.
Michael Brecker: Genius!!!
What an unfortunate loss...RIP Michael Brecker
What a great freakin' band! Whee!
il meglio del meglio dell' epoca !!!!
All legends.
Joey is always on fire
Amen, this swings!
Why are jazzmusicians so incredible good musicians ?
They need to be.
lehnrik ... in order to make half a cent
Brains. Oh and their ET hybrid ancestry.
Both solo were DIVINE. BLESSINGS.
I always like Metheny.... I admire that level of skill and hearing SO MUCH. I am 59 and a silly kid still... I always search out Pat's solos and melody single note stuff-But then I hear him comp behind someone like Brecker (as in this concert) and I realize that he EVEN BETTER than I thought. my goodness-they all sound TOO GOOD!
Michael Brecker's solo is like ... WOW!
There's simply keepin the beat and then there's Jack DeJohnette ... So relaxed yet so dynamic, kickin, and swingin!
Nice interaction between Jack and Pat.
Hahaha Calderazzo at 3:43 that little smile and tongue
............ incredibili sempre
de lujo pat yy michael se llevan de maravilla
Good God!! MB was channeling Trane from about 7:00 on. Soooo fortunate to have sat in front of Michael and Joey many times and seen them burn like this. clip saved-thanx
Veo sólo estrellas en ese firmamento 🎶

absolut great man -happy new year to all
Saw them in Philly around this era.
love it!!
Wow!👏👏👏👏
brilliant!!!!!!
this is unreal!
Świetni muzycy
RIP Brecker
Awesome as you would expect from these guys, some of my favorite jazz players. Check out Brecker and Jaco going back and forth on "the dry cleaner from Des Monies" on Joni's Mitchell shadow and lights concert. a top 3 bass/sax jam for the serious connoisseur.
back in the 80s and 90s there was not a jazz concert I did not go to in Cleveland Ohio home of the 2016 NBA champions Cleveland Cavaliers
'Thank yoU for posting!
I've never seen a clip of Dave Holland where he's not smiling at some point during a song.
Brecker at his best!! He's taking over from Metheny so beautifully. His playing is so distinct, over the years I think he has traded a bit of blind-sided attack for depth, just like a good aged whisky.
the master
You can allmost see smoke coming from Dave's bass.
Maravilha!!! :-)
Quotes himself - itsbynne reel with Mark O’Connor - at 6:43 and 6:47. Absolutely Killing it
20 years later Pat looks the same? Strange? Must be those Alien guitar pills he takes.👍
So this is what aliens look like
💚🌱😃🌼
Geez not a bad line up!!!
the full hour long video of the concert must have been deleted, can't find it on youtube anymore
One person out there thinks Jazz was just a talking Robot in a movie and is now disappointed.
They hit a clam at :30 and Dave Holland is laughing thru the rest of the tune 🤣🤣🤣🤣
what happened to the piano solo at the end?
Saw this band/tour 2x. Couple decent musicians in there.
Жги Пэт!))
Far out man
The whole band should have worn shirts like Holland and Brecker.

Pat è il mio chitarrista preferito, ma Michael e il resto della band non scherzano...
1 dislike it too many
Yikes ! ... Pat sounds like me trying to play like him in this video...(not great) either he had too many hamburgers of too much cola. Or maybe he couldn't play well on that black PM120 ? who knows
Metheny is boring
Big bags stupid asf
@@CinefiliaXDos he has the chops but no fire, maybe it's that chorus sound.
