Hi. Enjoyed the catch up from Shelley. Great weather great crowd and great racing. Phenomenal times set in a number of classes, and then there's Matt Ryder. Well done absolute class in both run offs. Gutted for Graeme Wynn shame for the car but glad to see he is in one piece. Good commentating too
Hi David. Glad you enjoyed the coverage. It was unfortunate for Graham Wynn, he as definitely found some extra speed recently. The car didn't look too bad from what I saw during the recovery. Thank you for being a member
Great coverage; thank you for being there and taking us with you. Apart from the occasional disparaging Pikes Peak comparison comment in the Live Chat from condescending Merkins - ("I guess it's the best the Brits can do...") - I enjoyed reading the informed chat from fans. Alas, many (not all) Merkins are raised to value quantity over quality🙄, which seems ludicrous where motorsport is concerned. The point about hillclimbs all over the world is not that they're competing to be the biggest (yee-hah). Every one is a unique challenge, and thus of equal value to the hillclimb community. Driven in anger, Shelsley Walsh is as severe a test as any other hill: steep and narrow, bumpy, slippery and very, very fast. No, it's not a long course, but it doesn't have to be long to be good ["That's what SHE said..."🤭]. It's concentrated and distilled into something intense - brandy, not beer - and that's why people-in-the-know love it. The Goodwood hill is similarly 'unimpressive' if your only point of reference is Pikes Peak but, for a true enthusiast, ALL climbs are a worthwhile challenge. Driving a car - any car - at 100% takes skill, guts and commitment. Throwing one up a mountain where any crash is likely to be a big one deserves respect. One interesting point that cropped up in the Live Chat concerned the colours of cars. Someone said that painting them in bright colours - especially yellow - was done (in parts of the USA?) to avoid attracting insects. Sorry, but that's the exact opposite of my experience. Wearing bright yellow clothing when outdoors in Britain is guaranteed to attract insects. Wasps, bees, greenfly, butterflies, regular flies, midges and gnats: they LOVE bright yellow and are drawn to it in annoying numbers, looking for nectar. A local countryside group I work with in Yorkshire decided to change its hi-vis wear from bright yellow to duller orange in order to avoid being mistaken for flowers. Painting a car yellow is done for reasons of style, not to repel insects. But never mind that. I enjoyed the action, so thanks for the coverage. The commentary was well done and informative. I look forward to following the rest of the series. Onwards and upwards! [Disclosure: I'm not a hillclimb expert, just an ordinary petrolhead. I was a keen amateur rally driver in the Group-B era. I competed mainly in Britain, once in Finland, and rallied in Kenya for several years, even finishing the old (5-day) East African Safari twice.]
THANK YOU Roy! (again!) That's really good of you and glad you are enjoying the coverage. I'm just leaving to start setting up Prescott for this weekend. Your support really helps the motivation to keep improving the coverage. Thank you.

Looking forward to attend this event on 14th September. Video content will be on my UA-cam Channel 🙂
Thanks for sharing this with this with the world 👍
Our pleasure!

Last Sunday was another great day at Shelsey
And so close to a new hill record to top it off. Can't beat some close hillclumbing on a warm sunny day.
Just watched the last run off
Wild!
158 mph over the line. Holy crap
👍
