this video is 4 years old so i hope you see this- I can't believe i stumbled upon this video looking up info on transfering to UT because I'm in the exact same place as you were. By dream school has always been UT, but i didn't fully realize it till my senior year-- i did mediocre in high school 3.4 GPA with tons of AP and honors classes so managed to get top 11%. I could've done better, i should've done better. I applied to UT and got capped, but just like you I wanted the college experience, so I chose to go to Texas Tech for a year! I start my freshman year this fall and all summer I've been stressing to myself that I neeeeeeed to work so insanely hard so that maybe just maybe I could get into my dream school. My major is Dual Architecture and Civil Engineering which- i know- is a very time consuming rigorous major, but that's my dream. I know my major at UT is highly competitive, your advice and tips are so helpful and gave me so much hope. Is there any more advice you might have? Do you think that this is achievable?
Got into UT (CNS) with an appeal that included my completed transcript which had my calculus requirement. Had a 3.92 when I applied, but it was the transcript that saved my ass.
hey! how many college hours did you have when you were accepted? i’m trying to get into mccombs and i’ll have 88 hours when this semester is done (i’m in my second year of college at txst)
I got CAPped, I know that automatic admission to UT Austin only for liberal arts, but do I have a chance to get into college of natural sciences if my gpa is like over 3.8 at another UT for the freshman year then transfer to UT Austin with CAP?
Yes you do, I got CAPed as well. I am going to UT San Antonio in the fall for a year then transferring to UT Austin with automatic acceptance because I’m going to stay with their program. I am going to do bachelors in science with biology as my major and biomedical engineering as my minor. There is a whole list of all the other UT schools under the CAP message in your MyStatus account for UT Austin. Hope this helps!
@@AnnaMarieVelezz but automatic acceptance is only for liberal arts, I think it's going to be hard for college of natural sciences since the percentage is kinda low
@@QuanNguyen-fd2bn If you maintain a good gpa at your first year school and show your dedication through their program, it will reflect. I believe I will get in to the bachelor of science once I’m there because that’s what I will be studying at UT San Antonio, and if i show how well I can do there, Im confident I will get in to the same program at UT Austin. Stay confident in your journey. God has a plan!
I am thinking about writing out an in detail blog post about CAP would you be willing to help promote it. I know there is not much I can give in return for promotion, but I know so many people who are confused about CAP and I would love to help, especially as a successful CAP transfer.

@@AnnaMarieVelezz because like apparently if I don't get accepted to the college of natural sciences, I need to stick with liberal arts.
