Her father passed away when she was very young, I'm not sure how much he helped her get into Oxford from beyond the grave (aside from the fact that he likely left enough money that she could afford to pay for the tuition), and he didn't help her to graduate. She graduated Oxford, and is fluent in 4 languages. I've never been a huge fan of her as an actress, but she's definitely an intelligent, well-educated, and interesting person.
I had never met her. Then I had the honor of walking Kate to her car after an event. She & I walked two blocks alone down the sidewalk all alone.No passersby. We talked & laughed & when we arrived at her car she thanked me. She hugged me and I kissed her on the cheek goodbye. As she drove away i smiled and could not believe my fortune. How lucky i was.
