- How to cook kala channa in the pressure! Black chickpeas or kala channa have recently become one of my favourite foods. This video will show you how to prepare and correctly cook them in your pressure cooker. This curry has an earthy, nutty flavour and is best paired with rice. Hope you enjoy this kala channa recipe!
INGREDIENTS:
1.5 cups of kala channa soaked for at least 8 hours
3 cups of water
1 large tomato diced
1 onion diced
2 cloves of garlic
1 inch piece of ginger
salt to taste and for cooking the channa
1 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp red chili powder
2 tbsp vegetable oil divided
1 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp garam masala
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 bay leaf
fresh chopped cilantro

You can also make this with the same garbanzo used in hummus, I think it will be just as good 👍🏼
