Great video. That looked like a fun trip, some big waves for sure. And even some snow for good measure. Steam room felt very nice I'm sure. Nice hike too, great view of the river. Again, good skills, exactly the same things I am working on right now.
Yep, it was great trip! After hard rain we had big waves and fun. Ivalojoki river is 250km to north from arctic circle and somethimes at summer weather is cool and also rain snow. We call Ivalojoki "Klondike of Finland" cause there was gold rush on 19th century and hundreds cold diggers. Hi Nick! I got mail for new comment but can't found it. Anyway... You asked my video editor. I have used also Movie Maker with Win7. Last winter I bought new computer. I tried to found new free and simple video editor for Win10. Finally I found Open Shot video editor and it seems to be just for me. It's easy to use but still good.
Hyvin näytti olevan vettä. Me käytiin tänä kesänä heinäkuussa ja vesi oli kyllä aika vähissä. Täytyy yrittää ensikerralla päästä vähän paremman veden aikaan joelle. Hyvä video ja mahtava reissu.
Tuo sade nosti aika rajusti pintaa ja virtaamaa. Tuolla vajaan 180m3/s virtaamalla alkaa olla jo hauskaa. Toki pienellä virtaamalla hauskuus on melonnan teknisyydessä kivikossa pujotellessa. Katselin teidän videon alkuosan. Katson loppuun kun ehdin.
WOW, you had really work hard downstream from Kutala with this amount of water. I wonder if we could do this with our Prion kayaks. Fortunately July weather was definitely more pleasant..
Hi! Really nice trip and video ! For sure you enjoyed a lot ! We are planning to do the same trip at the end of august begining september. Do you think it would be suitable for beginers ? We are used to hike but not really canoeing. 😊 Thanks for your answer 😉
Hi! Yes, we really enjoyed trip. Ivalojoki is very beautiful. River is bit challenging if water lever is high. I'm sure that you can do it if water discharge isn't very fast. 50m3/s or less and you have nothing problems. Never know how much it is cause after rain water level can raise over half meter. You can see water forecast in Finnish Enroviment Institute (SYKE) web page: wwwi2.ymparisto.fi/i2/71/q7101320y/wqfi.html
Great Video again. I`m always enjoying all your videos very much. Looks like an awesome Trip! We are planning the same trip for next year. :-) Do you remember the water temperature? Do we need wet or dry suites? thanks
Thanks Juergen! Water temperature was about +9'. Wetsuit is enough if air temp is +5' or more. On our trip temp was +3' and windy. It was challenging cause we was wet all the time in rapid.

It was great with high water. Rocks was deep but waves big. :D I will make this trip again and hope more pleasant weather.
