For my oily girls: I bought all 3 and returned the foundation. I kept the primer but honestly I don't notice a difference as to any blurring. The powder is awesome though! Im VERY oily skinned and looked like a cakey crease ball with separation using all 3! The hype didnt work for me unfortunately 😩

      @@GlamGirlGabiI got you girl:
Sounds drastic but if you are not planning to become pregnant go to your doctor and get a prescription for a lower dose of isotretinoine, it is for severe acne but my dermatologist prescribed for me, one pil per week (instead of 2 pills per day that is the standard). It keeps my oil under control even a year or two after the treatment which I did for one year.
If you don’t want to go on that route, use la Roche Posay non foaming mild cleanser, the Chanel mattifying lotion and the la Roche posay mattifying sunblock spf 50 (green label). This is your base. I hope it helps.

@@jenxsj3902 That is super helpful actually! Thanks for the suggestion. I am actually going to ask my doctor for that. I am on topical tretinoine but maybe a pill would be best. Especially if it's short term.

Seems like the powder is the key to the filtered look so wonder if it would work with any chosen foundation. But, I am also older so the matte look would not be my friend. Still very tempted to try the powder and just add a little glow in spots with other products.

You should try it. You can return it at Sephora if you don’t like it. The powder is incredibly nice. It’s the best powder I’ve ever used and I’ve used them all. I even like it much more then Givenchy Prisme Libre original formula, believe is or not.

I agree about the filter thing. I think people definitely get bamboozled into buying products because of filters. And I'm really glad I watched this before I bought it. I enjoy your videos because you're very honest and give real reviews. And yes, I adore that powder. I have it in the shade Pound Cake. It's a game changer. Also, people use different skin care and have different kinds of skin. I'm sure that's where the flaking comes from.

    Great and detailed review 🥰
I don't like using powder on this level of oil on the nose _(I have a very oily nose too),_ I prefer using a polypropylene sheet _(like the japanese black ones from Gatsby, which is owned by Bioré)_ which soaks and removes the oil 😊
From the INCI list, the primer seems to be a light moisturizer mainly gelified with Sodium Acrylates Crosspolymer-2 _(like the Glowish Blur Jam Silicone Free Smoothing Primer from Huda, or the Prime Focus Impossible Primer from Wet N Wild, or the Lunar Magic Blurring Primer from R.E.M., or the ridiculous and discontinued Zero No Pigment Foundation from Becca)_ 🤔 From all the products I mentioned I tried only the Wet N Wild one and it was useless.
The Huda one did nothing on your skin, actually the side without primer looks better 😉

I don't know how I missed this video when it aired, but watching it now makes me feel good about my decision not to purchase this foundation. I think the powder is the award winner here, not the foundation and not the primer, both of which I would rate as average based on how it performed for you. I have oily mature skin, and I suspect this foundation would not flatter me at all. I'll stick with the TirTir pink egg, which I think actually does everything that Huda claims her foundation does, but more affordably. Thank you for your assessment!

Hahahahhaha I totally fell for the marketing and bought both the primer and foundation. I have mature normal to dry skin and I love it! But…….I don’t love it better than my beloved Haus Labs foundation. I would say it’s now my #2 foundation - it has great lasting power which as a busy kindergarten teacher I LOVE! Haus Labs remains #1 for me😍. I do love and appreciate the packaging of the Huda Beauty which will make it my travel makeup hands down. I dont have the Huda Beauty powder but I would consider trying it. My #1 powder is Fenty loose powder in lavender and I’ve tried a lot of powders over the years and the Fenty so far remains #1 for me.

I want to start using some hot tools and I got the ones you recommended but I have a question or two :-) is it OK to ask # here? I do my hair I like to wear it curly so I put in gel and some moose and maybe some thickening products. Then on the second day is when I’d probably want to blow dry it and then use iron on it. Is it OK to go over the products use the day before, and then add even more products like more heat protectant and a hot tool over that? I’m concerned about using hot products in my hair and I’m not really sure how that works… I’ve been out my hair for three years and still my commitment to keep any links, so I appreciate any of you can share! As far as whether or not the foundation will look and blur better with the primer, the answer is yes .However, from what I've heard, you could get a much cheaper blurring primer (I've heard that even Wet and Wild Impossible primer with that Huda foundation, I think I heard that from Nikki La Rose)...and get an equally smoothing, longwear effect...what makes me still wanna try it out is that I saw an influencer who like me also deals with acne and acne scarring(hence, texture) and when she used the primer/foundation c/ombo, along with easy bake, she said her skin looked the smoothest she'd ever seen it! I don't think the video was sponsored either.

I think it's just....well to put it simply....those haters. Those trolls who can't stand it when Huda is getting all these props and publicity that her new foundation launch is a hit.I believe the reviews of the people whose wear tests I watched (provided it wasn't a sponsored review or a review/ad by Huda herself). Just thought I'd call that out...

I’m curious to know your opinion on this product. I’ve not had such an epic fail with a foundation in a long time. This foundation was horrible on me! I have dry to normal skin, 50 with great skin, and live in a dry climate (Colorado). This foundation settled in all my fine lines, AND bunched up in areas around my face where I had no lines. I would have to take my finger to smooth out all the product accumulation. It did not build up well. Within a short amount of time, I looked like a wet disco ball. It got unbelievably shiny. It transferred all day long. When I wore it at work, I kept seeing smudges of foundation on my white papers and on white countertops. I don’t have this with other foundations. I tried it for a week, and returned it.

Coming from the beauty industry I find this very amusing. By now Gabi, I hope you recognize my name, I'm a fan of your channel, I'm not criticizing you. Panstick, Max Factor's original formula that was sold for a few dollars gave a flawless finish, that blurred/filter look that was shown in the footage of this video; of course it depended upon the person's skin and age. The results was unbelievably beautiful. I wore it in the 1980s, I continued to go full coverage during the 90s "Supermodel era" and later went for a more natural look, something more realistic. I read wear ppl are freaking out that it's not available in the USA anymore. Once upon a time they had many shades and was so cheap, real cheap. It's also been reported that Marilyn Monroe wore it, she practically had no pores. I know I was very fortunate at the time because my skin was similar to her, no oil issues. There is an advantage to having partially oily skin, case in point, your skin is lovely. To each his own but I would never pay top dollar for cosmetics anymore, it's so unnecessary. Just sayin' wink :)

But it is not “men” friendly. Some guys like to wear make up that is undetectable.

It flakes for people with dry skin. You just said you have oily skin. Simple reason. Can't please everyone because of different skin types and ages, even.

It’s just all the fillers and Botox they use that are “blurring” smh 🤦‍♀️

I don't see a difference at all between the primer side and the no primer side. 😮

@GlamGirlGabi I'm glad you tested it before I spent the money on it. Thank you for taking the time to do it and share the results with us.❤ I ended up buying fenty concealer and foundation, which is new for me. I've never spent that much on foundation and concealer, but it was time that I bit the bullet and picked something that I was able to color match so I got the right color and that hopefully would work on my skin that has a few fine lines now. In a little more than two and a half years, I will turn 60. If you're up for the challenge, Gabi, I want to travel to Canada and have you do my makeup and hair. A nice little makeover would be fantastic, especially from my friend @GlamGirlGabi!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Umm, so, all those reels saying "No filter!" are obviously using a filter.
The best filter product is Maybelline Baby Skin. Pat it on top of the rest of your makeup.

    • @GlamGirlGabi
      @GlamGirlGabi  3 місяці тому

I think the reels are using the powder, it does bring it to a much more "filtered" look naturally!

If you want to make your product travel-friendly and in a plastic bottle/tube, atleast spend some money on the design. Don't make it look like a NYX tube and expect everyone to be ok with it. It's not drugstore, ppl have higher expectations for higher-end products. And funny how she mentions the Channel foundation, because that package is cheap af too and used to break easily bcoz it had metal little balls inside but very thin walls 😂

Huda Beauty is an easy pass for me. The product aside, I can't support the brand. Huda Kattan publicly made very insensitive political comments not only about the situation in the Middle East (which is awful 😭 no matter what) but further denounced a particular nationality. Beauty and makeup are fun and serve as an escape for so many and Huda Beauty used her influence (in my opinion) for something controversial and tragic. . Ty Gabi. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
