Just one word; AMAZING! And the best thing about his playing is that is honoring God with his talent. Keep it up brother Harris... You Rock man! Blessing!
love this guy, always have.... even before he made it big. went to high school with him... just saw him at our 20th year reunion... this guy is truly amazing in his work, and a wonderful person.
My bro, In the Lord. Sometimes I don't understand How we can use the words of this life, as one commenter did using a bad word, To speak of a gifted person that is allowing themselves to be used by God. Bro Harris, Keep looking up, and never choose to look down, or you will miss all that God has to send down to you in blessings, Be Blessing in all your comings, and goings.
he used to go to Upper Room COGIC, he used to play for us, but now he is a recording artist. he came last sunday, and played a sermonic selection. he's so good that it sounds like an eletrick guitar
Brother, you did an AMAZING job last night in Franklin, North Carolina. It was a pleasure meeting you...I am in awe of your talent. Thanks for signing my CD, I listened to it on the way home and thoroughly enjoyed it...but you REALLY shine LIVE, though. May God continue to bless you and I pray you continue to use your amazing talent for Him. =)
Piccolo strings. Those things are awesome. I hung out with him at camp electric. He's an awesome guy. I just bought some of those strings from him. They are going to sound great.
@pervy9111 It's a great way to play songs you love, and be creative at the same time. Sometimes not even that! Sometimes people really love the chord progression of a song, so they just steal it, and use it for their own musical sensibilities. That's one of the beautiful things about music: There's so much freedom to hear everything in so many different ways!
I'm a guitarist and I love your sound! I have a bass to also do instrumental stuff. What strings and gauge are you using? Are these piccolo strings? Also, do you have the regular 34" bass or short scale? I'd REALLY appreciate your help.
@diamondbass11 ahh ok i see, thats really cool. and man you must've been lucky to meet him. one last thing i want to know...his whole playing...only very gently can you hear the melody of "amazing grace" there's alot of stuff he's doing which is like loads of different notes and stuff. (not that it sounds bad) why do you see alot of players do this? isit just personal preference? or does or are they actually trying to play the song? (sorry if this sounds stupid...)
mrallpurpose thats a tenor bass you are taking about but his is E,A,D,G tuning an octave higher. So his strings are higher than a tenor bass. I play 6 string bass and got those tenor strings on my bass at the top but in this video his sound is higher than that. I’m thinking about trying those piccolo strings out on my four string bass. A guitar is an octave higher than a bass. So this is a way to play guitar on your bass.
I researched it out. They are piccolo bass strings. The strings are an octave higher than regular bass strings. A guitar is an octave higher as well so pretty it’s equivalent to a guitars range.
@cjtoota1 piccolo strings. i hung with him at camp electric and he uses piccolo strings. theyre an octave higher than normal strings but still E, A, D, G
@pervy9111 well...alot of players use the melody as roots to their own "rendition" of it...sometimes it sucks but sometimes it sounds pretty good like this and Victor Wooten's...and for alot of those added notes, they just do it for spicing it up and sometimes showing off haha. thats all its for.
+Bernard Harris The video quality seems to have dropped (144p) from when I'd first viewed it a couple of years ago. There's no change to audio quality. By chance, did you re-upload this at some stage?
It’s 2021. I keep comin back. Now I’m full ❤️
More than anything brought me here
Just one word; AMAZING! And the best thing about his playing is that is honoring God with his talent. Keep it up brother Harris... You Rock man! Blessing!
He's making that bass sound like an electric guitar!
It has piccolo bass strings which are an octave higher than a bass. So it’s really in a guitar range. Guitars are tuned an octave higher than a bass.
@@dewayneanderson8985 Those piccolo bass strings sound real good too
❤❤❤❤ l Love this so much!! Upperroom COGIC!! ALWAYS MY FAVORITE BASS GUITARIST 🎸 🎸
I met this dude once. He's left handed and plays a right handed bass upside down. He's a straight beast!!!!

It's tuned up as a tenor bass...A D G C
A la Victor Wooten and others...

What gauge strings are those. They must be heavy guitar strings
I researched it out. They are piccolo bass strings. The strings are an octave higher than regular bass strings. A guitar is an octave higher as well so pretty it’s equivalent to a guitars range.
@cjtoota1 piccolo strings. i hung with him at camp electric and he uses piccolo strings. theyre an octave higher than normal strings but still E, A, D, G
this is definitely a bass with piccolo strings.
@clewi1091 Because he is a bass player
what is the song at the end?
+Pislaru Veaceslav The song at the end is titled "Joy". It is on Bernard's Album titled "Bases Covered".
Thank you so much, be blessed :D
@sanjaii hahaha nah. i should, but i just dont have time with school and stuff...
how does he do that? its a bass guitar yet it sounds like an acoustic :s
Piccolo bass strings are what he is using. They are an octave higher than regular bass strings which put it in a guitars octave range
@pervy9111 (im learning how to play electric guitar and just want to get a feel of why many musicians do these kind of things)
@guitarslim1989 piccolo bass strings.
why has the quality of this degraded so much over the past few years?
Dont ever compare him to victor wooten. big mistake not even close but hes great though compare him to wayman tisdale.
True bass players do not compete for comparison they learn from 1 another
no, no no
You def aint a musician.
what do you mean???
+Bernard Harris The video quality seems to have dropped (144p) from when I'd first viewed it a couple of years ago. There's no change to audio quality. By chance, did you re-upload this at some stage?
+DOZHAN it really has degraded a lot. I used to watch this everyday with good quality. I don't know what happened
