Thank You For Your Support and Contributions!
I was wondering when if you were going to put this video up about Milton. Thanks for keeping us updated. Spared again. 😊😊😊
I've been praying for you your family hope all is well with you.
Thank you we appreciate that. Thank god we are safe and sound. We got lucky it didnt come our way
Guau!!! Thank you for the prompt update. 🇲🇽 🇨🇦
Glad it was helpful!
Glad to hear you guys are all good in Merida.
In Merida, this was not scary. There were brief periods of mild winds and normal rains. The periods of rain are called "bands.". Today in Merida it rained lightly for 30 minutes, then stopped for 45 minutes then rained for 30 minutes or so, and then repeat. Thanks for the report.
Yup! We got very lucky nothing much happened! Thanks for sharing!
Hi I'm glad your giving information on this storm there and what's going I was a little concern some other expats is really not putting out weather details . Soo thanks ! I'm in Ohio weather has been awesome
Glad I was able to report to you guys! I know many people were wondering what was going on out here.
Glad you all didn’t receive a direct hit! Thinking of the Progresso area as well. We were fortunate here northwest of Houston, inland from Galveston, TX coast.
So are we! We got very lucky! Thank goodness!
This is the norm for this time of year. It's always September/October time, I landed in Yucatan back in 2005 for Hurricane Wilma, everything was boarded up and super humid...locals are used to it.
That is correct just the same old same old out here for the locals. Thanks for sharing!
I thought you said you guys moved? That looks like the same place you had where you built your stainless steal kitchen.
Jaja I must have misspoke My apologies. We are still in the same spot at the moment but will be moving eventually 😅
I believe Milton will turn and hit us again
I really hope not! But who knows these days. Stay safe out there brother!
Hola :) Where are you? Just curious. Take care!!
The track has moved to south of Tampa now according to one news account.
Thanks for sharing!
How is Chelem , Progresso, Telchac???
I cover it in the video. It was mostly spared. Just some damage to the Docks and Piers and some properties on the coast, but the rest of the inner coast was totally fine. Only the structures that were right on the beach were damaged.
What's the longest you've ever been without power at your house in Merida?
I think 8 hours tops maybe 12 no more than that. But not every location is the same. Some go days without power. In my case any time we lose power here it is about 2-5 minutes tops before the power comes back on. But this does not happen regularly just once in a blue moon or with very bad weather. We had no problems with power during Milton.
@@JoseArteagaTravels That beats where I am now in Western North Carolina. My power was out for 10 days until this past Sunday from Helene. And that's nothing compared with the incredible destruction in other parts of WNC.
Do you have an Instagram account? Helps me remember to check out your videos. I have friends in Merida from many extended visits there.
The important thing to remember about hurricanes is that once they or any part of it gets over land, their strength reduces. The distance from Mérida to Progresso is less important because hurricanes don't go north to south.
The more important distance is between Mérida and Celestún - 106 kilometers. This protects Mérida from ones coming from that direction. (Just like the 300+ kilometers to Cancun protects us from that direction.) Meredith will experience some of the effects of a hurricane, but the distance from the ocean will greatly reduce any damage caused by it.
I do. The link is on my website. But I very rarely post there
I don't want to watch this😢
Don't worry nothing happened. But I understand if you are not interested. Thank you for sharing with us
That's OK, I do.
Jose, aren't you scared for your people in Florida?
