I'm glad you found the video helpful! I stayed at the Westin Grand Cayman Seven Mile Beach Resort. I loved it. It had everything I needed at the right value, and the location was perfect. I didn't spend too much time at the resort as I went out during the day for activities and had lunch & dinner outside the resort.
Thank you for informative video. Quick question, did you get chance to continue your excursion for Sting ray city and star fish despite of cutting short due to sting ray incident? Want to make sure if you get opportunity to re-book in these type of situation or not. Thanks in advance!
Great question! Yes, I was given the option of a refund for the portion of the trip we were not able to do, or to return another day to redo the tour. This is a benefit of going with a reputable tour company!
Sure, I used Captain Marvin's: captainmarvins.com George's is also a good option to check based on timing or availability: www.thingstodocayman.net/georges-watersports/ Don't forget to check the Cayman Port Authority website for cruise ship traffic (linked in the video description)!
Hi! Most places along the West Coast (Seven Mile Beach & West Bay) are touristy and pricey (ones with great views are Calypso Grill & Cracked Conch, Macabuca is more affordable). For a more proper, authentic meal I ventured to South Coast Bar & Grill (featured at the 9:28 mark in the vlog). The food was great (they have seafood), local vibes, and great views.
What tips did they give you to stay safe with the stingrays? After what happened with Steve Irwin I'm a bit nervous about being surrounded by them. Also, where would you recommend staying?
Hi! One of the main items they mention is to shuffle your feet when walking around stingrays so that you don't accidentally step on one, in particular if it's lying at the bottom and possibly covered with sand. Keep in mind that there are thousands of people doing this around the world and you only hear about the bad outcomes; however, you should only do what you are comfortable with. I would recommend staying anywhere on the west side depending on what you like (towards the west / northwest side is Seven Mile Beach with luxurious resorts on beautiful beaches and the southwest side is George Town, the capital, if you prefer a "city" environment). I would then take day trips to the rest of the island to get a more local vibe. I stayed at the Westin Grand Cayman Seven Mile Beach Resort & Spa and really enjoyed it.
@@HitchhikewithJoeMike Thank you so much! I think I'd give it a try with my feet on the ground the whole time. Appreciate the tips on the hotel location too
The stingray are a very docile animal. You can pet their wings, but not the spine or tail. They don’t have teeth so when you feed them, it’s like a vacuum! The stingray that stung Steve, must have truly felt threatened by him. Also, they shouldn’t have removed the barb from his chest. That all being said, I’ve done stingray city several times and never had an issue. May I suggest you go out with Ambassador Diver’s. They are fabulous!
Amazing, useful and funny video. Thank you for the list at the end as well 😊

Any proper & reasonable seafood places?
