I hate how in toy story 3, (my favorite toy story movie) Andy SPECIFICALLY says, "take care of him for me" and now he is a lost toy with no owner. I understand Kids will get tired of toys as they get older, but Bonnie could have at least put him on the shelf or sleep with him. Its sad that Andy's childhood best friend, is now a lost toy, and has no kid to take care of him. Also the fact that he gave away his voice box. That is probably a sign that Disney is not going to make another toy story movie with Woody having an owner. Poor Andy... he would be so heartbroken to know that his childhood best bud is out there on his own. And the other sad part is, in toy story 2, they said that he is the last Woody doll.
not to mention isn't woody, jessie and bullseye like rare super expensive collectables i know bonnie probably didn't know that but still i wonder what happened to stinky pete the pickaxe toy in the second movie
@@UA-camBlobMcFish yea, i know it isnt just woody. its just that Andy gave bonnie his favorite childhood toys and bonnie plays with them, its just that Andys favorite toy wasnt played with. Im not saying she should all the time, its just that Woody was neglected and became a lost toy. He also just said bye to his best palls just like that
"Why does Jessie stay in the van?" because if Jessie had been able to talk with Woody then she'd have used her experience of being abandoned and how Woody convinced her that the importance is to be there for the kid even if it means them leaving one day is the most important thing a toy can do. Y'know instead of the whole "I'm going to disappear without the kid knowing what happened, because fuck that girl, I got my bo-peep back." that's why.
3:58 Yes, thank you! I just watched Toy Story 4 after hearing that "it's so good," yet the complete and utter destruction of Buzz's character was the most disgusting thing I've ever seen in a Pixar movie. Making him stupid and useless when he's the most dynamic character, and more than capable of compassion and strategic thought (as one would expect from a space commander with a heart bent on helping others)... ugh. >.< You expressed my exact feelings on this so eloquently!
Thank you for your kind words. This movie is the reason I will never watch Lightyear. I don't trust Pixar with this character anymore and I never thought I would say that.
@@TwyneTheVine good on ya for not bothering with Lightyear. I was utterly disappointed and it’s even further destruction of Buzz’s character. You dodged a bullet there
@@TwyneTheVine Have you seen NitPix’s videos on Toy Story 4 and every other review of this overpraised (it’s great to know that just recently Toy Story used to be a great franchise (save for Toy Story 1 & 2’s sexism issue. m.ua-cam.com/video/2Tz85QuK8Fs/v-deo.html Still very charming predecessors to the definitive Toy Story experience (even by the formerly high standards of Toy Story from 1995 with TS1 - 2014 with Toy Story That Time Forgot starring a lookalike of a younger Troy Bolton named Mason) which is Toy Story 3, especially the 2nd one for expanding upon what strongly worked in the original (which, while it’s not great because the animation is noticeably dated and 1 is debatably even more misogynistic than 2) with each movie (save for Buzz Lightyear of Star Command: The Adventure Begins, I think it should have been three separate episodes rather than one movie, and there is proof of it in reviews of this nostalgic half-gem by Jambareeqi and AniMat) until 4) movie.

The Toy Story trilogy is perfect and it only got BETTER with 2 and 3. The animation is stunning, the storylines are deeply heartfelt and emotional and the characters feel like family (speaking for myself, I am emotionally invested in these characters and I WEPT at the end of the third movie). I LOATHE Toy Story 4 for several reasons. First of all, it wasn't even NEEDED. Everything was wrapped up perfectly with the third movie. It COMPLETELY CHEAPENS and insults Bonnie's promise to Andy at the end of the third movie....she SPECIFICALLY wanted Woody and she PROMISED Andy that she would take care of Woody and the rest...ONLY TO REPLACE WOODY WITH LITERAL TRASH. Who EVEN SAYS he is trash. He does NOT endear himself to us like Buzz and Jessie do in the first two movies....he is trash and that's it. WHY is this character the replacement for Woody (who has been, up until this point, the heart and soul of the Toy Story movies???) Secondly, they completely violated and destroyed both Buzz AND Woody's characters in the fourth film. Buzz is NOT a coward and he KNOWS what a conscience is. He proves that when he saves Woody from Sid's dog in the first movie and gets them back to Andy. In the second movie, Buzz clearly establishes his loyalty to Woody by going to rescue Woody from Al. He's willing to risk everything to get his friend back because Woody did the same for him and BUZZ was the one who reminded Woody what his true purpose was....to be there for their kid. In the third movie, he's willing to risk everything AGAIN, when they are about to be shredded and burned, to help Woody free Lotso when he's trapped under the golf bag. No hesitation...no stupid little voice telling him what to do. He's there for his friend. In this movie, I DO NOT see that loyalty AT ALL from Buzz. Yes, he DOES initially go to look for Woody, but then, he just stands there and allows the stuffed toys to beat Woody up on the roof of the antique store and when Woody wants to go back to find the stupid Fork Face HE LEAVES and abandons Woody and returns to the RV because some stupid voice on the button said to do that. in the end, he ENCOURAGES Woody to go with the stupid Bo Peep (who BTW, didn't even seem all that happy to see Woody. There was no love connection between them. Indeed, she seemed more annoyed that Woody had found her and like he was interfering with her new life and she DIDN'T want him there...which makes his choice to stay with her over Bonnie even MORE painful and hard to accept...because it violates the loyalty that Woody has. And, rather than staying with Bonnie, Woody chooses her (which Woody doing that COMPLETELY shatters his strongest character trait...that, as you say, he is loyal to his child (Andy and Bonnie) and to this family he has created with Buzz and the other toys. Buzz would NEVER abandon his friend and Woody would NEVER abandon his family and Bonnie. NEVER NEVER NEVER. That choice is what made this story cheap. And the fact that the stupid Gabbydygook doll got her happy ending when she didn't even NEED Woody's voice box is ALSO ridiculous. WHY does she deserve a happy ending?
@@TwyneTheVine The ONLY reason this movie was made was to make money. It lacked ALL the creativity and charm and heart of the original trilogy. They couldn't even make Andy's character look like he did in the originals.
And basically in the Beginning scene when Bo got packed up amd went away she wanted woody to go wit her but woody instead takes the right route and chose his kid and his bros b4 hoes which gets Bo Peep infuriated about woody then at the end this nigga woody breaks the bro code and goes back to her lmfao
@@TwyneTheVine tell me about it. the last shot of 3 was the clouds on andys wallpaper & thats how the first one all started. it was the perfect finale. the shorts & tv specials after that were kick-ass but not a fourth movie. buzz said in 3 whatever happened they were all gonna be 2gether then woody said 4 infinity & beyond & thats how it shouldve been. they were all almost burned alive in it 4 gods sake!
I COULD NOT AGREE MORE! Toy Story 4 completely and utterly destroyed everything that made the original trilogy so great!! I didn’t realize how much I loved the original trilogy until I saw this sad excuse for a sequel/movie.
The one thing I absolutely HATE about the movie is the character Gabby Gabby. She stole Forky, tried to rip Woody's voicebox out of him, and asked Forky to talk about Woody and used that information to manipulate Woody into feeling sorry for her to give her his voice box. She is a HORRIBLE person
@@lasercraft32and think about the horrible message about how you get ahead in life by being manipulative and abandoning children at the firstly sign of being ignored
@Awesome plush vids You don't think she could be sick from inhaling all the dust from inside the closet, right? Because her hyperventilating out of fear from being in the closet despite her overcoming her fears in "Toy Story Of Terror" looked out of place to me.
IMO, the Toy Story film franchise should have ended at 3, as it's often considered the best of the four movies anyway, thanks in part to having an ending that's both heartwarming and a tearjerker. 4 contrasted far too much from 3, namely Bonnie's relationship with Woody. Andy was actually reluctant to give Woody to Bonnie at the end of 3 because he needed someone who would take good care of him like he did, and only gave him to her because she wanted him so badly. In 4, Bonnie ignores Woody in favor of Forky, and by the end of the film, Woody abandons many of his longtime friends just so he can be with Bo Peep. What would Andy have to say to Bonnie if he found out she lost him?
Andy is a grown man who would forgive Bonnie because she's five years old and going through big transitions in her life. Everything about Bonnie in the movies and shorts is like reading a college textbook on child development. It may not be cute. It may be boring. But it's fairly realistic and I appreciate it.
This might sound weird, but I would have loved if Bo Peep had died instead by some kind of an accident back before Toy Story 3. I It would have been tragic and left a scar in Woody and they could have explored that some way. I personally didn't like how she was portrayed in the movie. I understand the change in personality to some extend, but how can they just change the material she's made of?? She used to be a fragile porcelain figurine that's suppose to be part of a lamp of the same material and even had limited movement because of this. BUT in Toy Story 4 this gets completely forgotten. It's obvious that the director didn't fully explore the first two movies...
You know, I recall a fanfic that’s exactly that where it’s set between Toy Story 2 & 3 and Bo Peep ends up shattering to pieces and Woody having to cope with her death.
ditto. how the hell can she just 4get about him all of a sudden after toy story that time 4got & play with a damn fork she made? it didnt make any damn sense & was totally ooc. she was all over him in that, toy story of terror & the three shorts. then she just leaves him in her closet, pretends she never found him & doesnt even realize or give a shit that hes gone at the end. nobody would ever play with a fucking fork over a real toy like him. he & buzz said in 3 whatever happened they were all gonna be 2gether 4 infinity & beyond & thats how it shouldve been. i mean 4 gods sake they all almost burned alive 2gether in it
While I agree with that statement, here’s what really made me angry about TS4, Gabby’s (though I call her Annabelle cause that’s what she looks like) happy ending, though she doesn’t apologize for her horrible actions. Plus she didn’t need Woody’s voice box to get a kid. That and the ending!! Cause Bo has been mean, rude and condescending to Woody and yet he chooses to stay with her instead of with his family and his kid. Even though, Bonnie has been ignoring Woody, what if one day she decides she needs Woody? She is gonna be bawling her eyes out cause she can’t find him. And Buzz and the others aren’t gonna be able to find him either because they don’t know where he is.
@@isaiahadams1996That makes it even worse. I REALLY DID NOT like how Bo Peep was portrayed, ESPECIALLY with how she treated Woody in the film, as it's just so wildly out-of-character for her, I wished Gabby Gabby had at least been told off for trying to steal Woody's voice box and given consequences for her actions instead of getting off so easily. Toy Story 4 is a mess.
Here’s the thing about Bo Beep and her character change…. WHY? You already have a strong female character, Jesse!!!! And yet, they did nothing with her, not really. And the term “strong female character”… Bo Beep was already strong. Just not in a gaudy way. She was composed, intelligent, etc. in the first film. Then, for this fourth, they changed her so that she was a completely different expression of strength, which does not fit her. So I repeat, you already had a strong female character! Highlight the strengths Bo Beep already has!!!! No need to crush femininity.
You’re so right, that plot line in 4 felt so degrading for Buzz and the ending of it was my least favorite thing, it felt so unearned. Your suggestions would have probably improved it significantly.
If you listen to the commentary in the blue ray DVD; the director literally mocks the fans, claims he changed the original script, ruined characters on purpose for a joke, and makes suicide jokes for kids-On Purpose!
@@LockeLynx what he's talking is in the commentary form the director in the toy story 4 Blu ray. You can also watch the gamingmagic13 videos of toy story 4, he puts the commentary in some parts, where they said the movie doesn't make sense if think about it.
I agree with everything you said. Pixar never wants to touch on why their characters are alive and how they are created. At least Cars sort of states how they are created and why they are alive (painting in courtroom shows factory and "Thank the manufacturer"). But it does not make sense how they magically come alive. But I can get past that. Also, isn't Dolly the leader of Bonnie's toys? Why did everyone look to Buzz and then Jessie for the leadership? I hated Bo in this movie for the exact reasons you said. They ruined her like they ruined Sally in Cars 2. Just facts
At least Cars 2 had good ideas, even though the execution wasn't the best! Toy Story 4 however feels VERY straight to DVD. I consider Toy Story 4 to be more pointless even than Atlantis 2: Milo's Return.
Toy Story is that franchise where half of the movies are classics (Toy Story 1-3 but another half was less than average (Toy Story 4 and Lightyear) but as for Cars, it’s one of the biggest Pixar franchises besides TS that is also the much more underrated out of the two. Cars 1 & 3 are masterpieces (even by Pixar standards, and yes, coming from someone who watched The Critical Drinker’s video on the trilogy, I said it deserved so much better), but Cars 2 is a disappointment (it’s at least more exhilarating than Toy Story 4 and Lightyear with its espionage action, but it still doesn’t change the fact that it left a lot to be desired when it came to the flanderization of Mater by acting so stupid to the point of mean-spiritedness).
@@kieranstark7213 I will forever hold the Toy Story and Cars franchises in high regard! Toy Story 1-3 are masterpieces, Lightyear is a decent spinoff movie, I have yet to see the 2D Buzz movie but TS4 was completely unneeded and an absolute disaster (and this is coming from someone who found enjoyment in Shark Tale and Shrek The Third!)! Cars 1 is an enjoyable ride, Cars 2 is dodgy but still enjoyable, Cars 3 is probably what Cars 2 should’ve been!
I think Sally was shafted in Cars 2 due to licensing things due to Sally being a Porsche so it’s 50% excusable, plus it isn’t important to the plot. But Bo has no excuse whatsoever.
Toy Story 4 was Bo Peep meets Tomb Raider and a spork. It lacked the heart and soul of the first three movies. And as you pointed out. No backstory to add to the feeling of the movie to get you invested. Particularly with Bo Peep. All the main characters were completely out of character. All the male characters we presented as buffoons. Lots of folks liked it. It made a ton of $s. I didn't care for it at all. Plus as you said the ending was just dumped on the audience.
I actually consider Toy Story 4 to be one of Disney's WORST movies of ALL TIME! It's not Chicken Little bad, it's not Mars Needs Moms bad, it's not Mulan 2 bad but it does just about miss top 20 territory (I'm not in a position to make an actual Worst Disney Movies list, but you get the idea)!
Initially, I liked Toy Story 4 when I first watched it. Then, after listening to my brother as well as a bunch of reviews, I saw it for the mess it ACTUALLY was. Now I just pretend that the movie doesn't exist and isn't part of the story. xD
I don't think there's anything wrong with liking something if you can honestly acknowledge it's flaws. It's when you like something and refuse to acknowledge its errors that you forego your integrity
I came here expecting you to say that this movie wasn't necessary because it 3rd felt like a greater ending, but you made really good points that I didn't even notice when I watched this. All this to say, great work!
I was unreasonably pissed off with the way Forky was treated in this movie. He's an actual living being who gets kidnapped, and the only reason why anyone gives a shit about getting him back is because he's Bonnie's favorite toy. That's it. There's no actual bond between Forky and the other characters, except with Woody at only the first ten to twenty minutes in the film. After that, Forky is just a macguffin. Bo Peep is turned into a jerkass generic "girlboss", and Woody is turned into someone who only cares about Forky because he's gotta be the ~good toy~ for Bonnie even though he's not the favorite. This movie has a way of making you hate these beloved, classic characters, and it's upsetting. Plus, I genuinely found Woody and Forky's dynamic charming. Could they really only squeeze about ten minutes of it in the film? Why even introduce a new character with such a funny and off-kilter premise if you're so afraid of utilizing him that you have to write him out of the majority of the film by having one of the worst Pixar villains to date kidnap him? Don't even get me started on the villain either. God, I hate this film. :(
Buzz had to learn that he doesn't have to take the lead and save the day. Toy Story 4 has a chance for all the toys to work together in their own ways talents instead of following orders from Buzz when Woody isnt around, like in Toy Story 2 and 3.. It's a lesson in resiliency and flexible problem solving. Buzz is given more freedom to work on himself.
I remember it pretty vaguely, there was a blue red haired girl, a big red alien guy, and I can't remember the last member, was it a skinny robot? I can't remember at all lol
I agree. Toy Story 4 was the nostalgia bomb we never asked for, with diluting or perversion of the characters, horrible messages, and contradiction of the overall moral from the series. It should have stopped at Toy Story 3.
8:53-10:06 I would have loved to see Buzz and Jessie look for Woody together too. What I would also love to see is Jessie standing up to Bo for treating Woody very badly. They'd be like two sisters competing for Woody's attention and that would create a problem for him. Here's an example of what would happen. This takes place after Woody indirectly makes Bo lose her sheep to Gabby Gabby's dummy henchmen and Buzz and Jessie are telling her off for telling Woody to stay out of her way when he was trying to help. (In the maze of cabinets, Bo searches for her sheep in all directions. Woody, Buzz and Jessie trail behind.) Bo: What did I say? I lead, you follow. Woody: Bo, I'm so sorry, really, just tell me how to help. Bo: You really wanna help? Then stay out of my way. I'm getting my sheep back. Woody: What about the others? Bo: Giggle knows what to do. (Buzz and Jessie step up to Bo, incensed at her treatment to Woody.) Buzz: Bo, that's no way to talk to Woody for what he did. Jessie: Yeah, you shouldn't treat him like this. Bo: You two shut up and stay out of it. (Buzz and Jessie glare at her, offended.) Buzz: Don't tell us to shut up. Jessie: It's not fair! How can you treat him so badly when he offered you his help?! Bo: Listen to me, Jessie, and listen good. I know Second Chance Antiques better than anybody, especially Woody. This whole ridiculous stunt he did was just so he could put us in danger with the dummies. Jessie: (furious) HEY! For your information, Bo-Dozer, this whole ridiculous stunt he did was about him caring very much and wants to help any way that he can! Bo: Look, I'm not gonna argue about it with you anymore. Shut up, stay out of my way, and let me do my job. Understand? (Bo heads deeper into the maze, not waiting for Woody, Buzz and Jessie. Jessie scowls as she watches her go.) Buzz: Woody, I'm sorry for what she said to you. Jessie: So am I. Woody: Oh, Buzz, Jessie, it's okay. I know you care about Forky too, right? Buzz: Yeah, we do. Jessie: (nods) Mmm-hmm.

Toy story 4 literally ruined my childhood. At the end they broke the true meaning of toy story.I literally was holding back tears until I literally got in a call with my friends.Since they all agreed with me about the end of the movie.
This is my opinion. I saw it when it was in theaters, and unfortunately I was so disappointed in it. I even remember seeing how many people disliked it because of the ending. One of the things that isn’t properly shown is how Bonnie basically forgets about Woody and he becomes forgotten. She was so enthralled with him when she found him on the playground, to the point she got really sad when Andy almost refused to give him to her. I don’t understand how Bonnie all of a sudden just doesn’t like Woody anymore but the other toys are ok. Kids will grow interest again in toys they forgot. I also don’t get why Bo Peep acted the way she did. I agree, she’s kinda mean to Woody and it doesn’t explain why. Also, I really hated how the other characters like Slinky and Potato Head hardly got any attention. And in the end, Bo Peep only greets Jessie instead of all the toys. Yeah, making Buzz dumb was such a terrible move, considering he’s always been a leader when Woody wasn’t there. It only got worse in his own non canonical movie Lightyear. Maybe this is a petty nitpick, but I was also so disappointed Andy was only in the movie for like 2 minutes. I get the toys are Bonnie’s now, but couldn’t Andy have been a background character at the carnival or something? Maybe he’s on summer break and works a carnival ride or game to pay for his tuition? I honestly kinda thought Bonnie’s character got ruined, considering the focus isn’t really about her in this movie. I seriously don’t know how the heck 5 is gonna get the story out of the mess 4 got it into. I am SICK of the stupid “separation of best friends” trope going on. I understand that it happens all the time in real life, but this is a fictional movie for entertainment purposes.
What if Andy put his toy in the attic which years later he would give those toys to his kid it could have been interesting story possible for Pixar but they shot them self in there own foot
It's ironic that in trying to make a strong female, they pretty much reverse all the male lead's character development to make him an accessory to fall in love with her in the end, basically just a role reversal of the constant issue people have with so many female characters in the past. It'd be nice if they could make good female dynamics that weren't just all about demeaning and labotamonizing the male cast in some passive aggressive "See how YOU like it" message. You're not really making a convincing equality message that way, you're just making it look hypocritical.
She called him an accesory back when she was mad when she lost her sheep. Take this as an example, a mother looses her kids and when stuff like this happen the mother's attitude changes. Bo later realizes that she loves him for his loyalty
It doesn't help that Bo basically yells at Woody for every little mistake he makes in the movie (especially in the scene where they meet Duke Kaboom). It comes off as rather toxic.
@@lasercraft32 It's one of few reasons I can validate Toy Story 5 actually happening, especially since Disney have got it rammed down their throats that audiences are SICK of this hypocritical bullshit.

I was enthusiastic about the prospect of 'Toy Story 4' mostly because of the shorts 'Toy Story of Terror' and 'Toy Story That Time Forgot'. In 'Toy Story 3', you have the toys LITERALLY going to toy Hell, making the audience ask of future sequels "What more could you possibly DO with these characters??" However, TSoT and TSTTF showed us that these filmmakers can reuse plot points from earlier movies (I.E. the toys escaping from being stolen, discovering the value of being a child's plaything, etc.) and still be just as entertaining as they were the first time. Okay, Pixar. Show us what you got! *_And then friggin' Bo Peep ruined EVERYTHING!_* You know what? It would be totally fine if they wanted to make a spin-off movie showing what happened to Bo Peep, because when you stop and think about it, her existence as a baby's toy is going to be A LOT harder than the other toys we've seen so far. Buzz Lightyear is awesome, he's got STAYING power. Andy's mom calls Woody "an old family toy" in TS2, obviously handed down from her father when he outgrew him, and subsequently passed down to Andy when she had HIM. Toys like them are ALWAYS going to have long, happy lives with their kids. But what about baby toys? With the exception of the favorite stuffed animal, they're enjoyed for maybe a year at a time, and then they're immediately garage-saled away. It would be ESPECIALLY hard on Bo because she isn't even supposed to BE a toy; she's a LAMP! One thing that especially bugged me was Trixie saying "I have ALL the questions!" upon seeing Forky for the first time, all of them obviously pertaining to Forky's newfound life, and those questions are NEVER explored upon, or even asked. It's kind of implied ever since the first TS that ALL toys come to life (even those that aren't even supposed to resemble lifeforms, like Etch-a-Sketch), and anything that ISN'T a toy can come to life if it's simply PLAYED with like a toy, like some random piggy bank that Andy decided to name Hamm and throw into his playtime. We see Bo Peep come to life not because she's a toy, but because she's USED like a toy, as opposed to every other lamp in the house which is completely static. Bo's already got a hard enough life as a baby's accessory that's destined to be outgrown a lot sooner than other toys, made even HARDER by the reality that she isn't even SUPPOSED to be alive in the first place, unlike items manufactured with playing in mind. Make a movie about THAT! Make a movie about Bo Peep being used and tossed away so much faster than the other toys, and have her be sad at how impossible it is for her to have long-lasting relationships... but then she sees her life's true value. Every toy wants to be loved and to BRING love to their kid. When the kid's upset for any reason, it's absolutely heart-breaking for them. In Bo Peep's case, she realizes that it's up to her to look after this small child who has just been brought into the world. They don't know anything, everything is strange, and everything strange is made TERRIFYING once the lights go out at night. So it's her job to shed her little light, make the monsters go away, and bring peace to this tiny frightened soul. Her time with these children is brief... so, so brief... but she learns to cherish each and every one of them like they were her own, and she can't help but look forward to the NEXT kid. THAT'S what the Bo Peep movie should've been, damn it! Not "Hey, Woody! Are you experiencing a playtime dry-spell with your current kid that you should be able to cope with since it's NOTHING compared to what you just went through with Andy for years and years? Abandon all of your principles about loyalty to your kid and stay with me 'cuz I'm a Strong Female Character™! We're TOYS! We don't need KIDS!" ugh...
It’s so mind boggling how this atrocity has a 97% on rotten tomatoes. Toy Story 3 is my first or second favorite Pixar movie (behind UP) and TS4 might be my least favorite
I mean, Frozen is criminally overrated. Its okay if you like it, personally I found it severely overrated and honestly was so disappointed in it when I watched it on my laptop in college. The entire criticism is all about Elsa representing female empowerment when all she does is hate herself and cower in fear 90% of the movie. I understand her toxic AF parents basically taught her to hate herself and especially the dad, OMG Agnar is one of the worst dads ever, clearly didn’t like having a kid with powers. And in the sequel, it had the f*cking nerve to basically praise Iduna and Agnar because of their love uniting their peoples, despite it NEVER acknowledged that they made so many bad choices when it came to handling Elsa’s powers, basically treating her like a circus freak by locking her in her room and ostracizing her from the entire kingdom, including Anna So yeah, I don’t really count critics opinions because of how wrong they are on certain movies
@@kristinahuchison2511Anna, didn’t treat her like a freak, the song do you want to build a snowman is her constantly try to play and interact with her sister who stays locked in her room.
@@shayla106 I said the parents treated her that way, not Anna. I am fully aware that Anna didn’t care that Elsa was different and just wanted a relationship with her sister, especially after their parents died. The parents are still toxic AF imo. They honestly thought Anna wouldn’t eventually learn about Elsa’s powers?? That’s the equivalent of keeping a disabled child away from their siblings instead of raising them together
I like Toy Story 4 because its an important resolution to Woody's arc from being so jealous of being the favorite toy that he is willing to do anything to maintain that status to realizing he can have a happy life as a toy in other ways. Not only that, he learned how to give other toys rhe chance of being the favorite. He learned how to make real sacrifices. Sure, he learned how he doesn't have to be Andy's toy anymore, but he ended Toy Story 3 still as a favorite toy. If he's included in Toy Story 5, I will be displeased.
As someone who hasn't seen the 4th movie yet, this comment sounds like stating the first 3 movies of Woody's arc. If this is what Toy Story 4 is, then its existance doesn't sound necessary.
My biggest problem with Bo being a "strong independent woman" character is that we never saw _any_ of that in the previous movies. In the first 2 movies, Bo Peep acts very old-school girly and is super flirty with Woody. Yeah its not the best look for modern women, but that's how she acted. You can't just change a character's entire personality within the same continuity just to fit progressive viewpoints. There wouldn't have been any problem with it if she'd gone through her arc off-screen by learning to be more of a girl-boss leader after becoming a lost toy, but they went out of their way to have that flashback at the start of the movie showing her being just as capable as the present day, basically gaslighting the audience into thinking she's always been like that. :(
Toy Story 4 was absolutely garbage. Pixar is really starting to suck now. TS3 was the perfect way to retire these characters, but they needed to milk it for merchandise and because Disney stockholders were demanding a quick cash grab. Also, Forky was the most annoying thing ever in my opinion, with Ducky and Bunny being the worst behind him. The fact that Forky is now the new Woody just left me more pissed off then a hungry grasshopper whose food just fell of a rock into a river. Yes, before you even ask, A Bug's Life is my favorite Pixar movie.😂😊
I didn't like how this one ended. I always thought that Woody was being selfish for running off with Bo Peep. Like , you're basically abandoning your family. I think it would have been better if he convinced Bo to come back with the gang after all these years. I mean, think about how happy Bonnie would be if she had Bo Peep to play with. It's a real shame, because I was excited for this a little. But still, I thought it was very unnecessary. I would have been just fine with short films or possibly a TV show about toy story. And a theme of the film should have been about abandonment and being loved by someone who cares. But that's just me. I didn't like it, an unnecessary sequel. The original trilogy was perfect. No more. Disney is stupid for making a fifth one. But you can't keep a money hungry studio down
I grew up with toy story. even doing that thing that Andy did in the beginning of toy story 3, having all the toys watch TV with me. Toy story means a lot to me, and it's disappointing that the director wrote it all this way; with this backwards understanding of the characters. I think I remember in the toy story 3 directors commentary, the director protests how woody leaving Andy in the case of not being played enough would by a conflict of his whole character. The original trilogy will be my headcanon, the story of the toys have already been put to a close for me.
The original trilogy is my headcanon too, but my headcanon still includes those TV shorts that tied in with the 1st movie, the Buzz Lightyear spinoff movies and show and those shorts and TV specials that followed the 3rd movie. I consider Toy Story 4 to be more pointless even than Belle's Magical World and Atlantis 2: Milo's Return!
@@adultmoshifan87 i heard in february that pixars even making a fifth damn movie & im pissed af. i remember the look on my face. its an even bigger fucking cash grab than this shit was. i tried being a little open minded when i saw it but not that much & im not even gonna bother with the fifth damn one. idk how the hell pixar can make it any worse than this crap
Bo treated him like that when she was mad when she lost her sheep. For example, a mother lost her kids. The mother's attitude would be different. You can later see in a scene after the argument bo and woody had she realizes that she loves him because of his loyalty.
@@shayla106 Honestly, you guys have to rewatch toy story 4. She came back to woody because she realized she was too hard on him and realized how loyal Woody was which was the reason she loved him. The little police girl (forgot her name) was talking bad pf Woody for being too loyal and stuff but Bo peep then said "you got to love him foe that" and went back to Woody to help him. Sometimes, yall act like you guys aren't rude sometimes... all of us have been rude once and we haven't noticed it. The movie shows how relationships or friends can't be perfect because no one is perfect. Everyone has had a friend or a relationship that they got in a fight with. No relationship is perfect.
3:27 hmmmm they could have made it so an object becomes alive as soon as a kid starts playing with it, and once they are not played with anymore they slowly fade away and become objects again. Could be the reason why the toys were so upset they weren't played with in ts3
Honestly, the conscience jokes could have worked if he knew what a conscience was, but didn’t know the word for it. Like it was so natural to him he didn’t know there was a word for it.
Great video! I admit, the scene where the scared girl finds and adopts the antagonist doll got me choked up. But one exceptional scene can't save a movie that's so thematically flawed. I didn't like Toy Story That Time Forgot either, so that's two Toy Story 3 follow-ups that let me down.
While yes, I can understand that Bonnie would get bored of a toy, but she loved Woody, and I thought Toy Story 4 would be like a next generation. The toys going on big adventures, with Bonnie as their new owner instead of Andy. Instead, we got Woody being beat down because Bonnie doesn’t play with him anymore, and it ruins the whole point that Andy gave up his childhood friend, while also growing up himself by going to college. Making the ending to toy story 3 pointless. Did I enjoy the movie? Sure Was it a bad movie? Not really Was it a good idea to make a 4th? Absolutely I’m more than willing to bet that Woke Disney wanted to make a 4th movie, because they know for a fact they’re losing their customers, but they’re only making it worse.
I actually think it would have been cooler if when Woody found Bo Peep again, she was a totally different person to the one he knew before and he had to adjust to her new self. It was a huge contradiction to show her as an action packed character considering she spent the second film in Andy's Room. Also yeah, you're right - it would have helped if Bonnie still showed love for Woody - she comes across as a fool in this film for choosing a piece of plastic and paper over an actual Cowboy doll!
You know, I never realized how much I love the original Toy Story trilogy until I saw this sad, toxic excuse for a sequel/movie. I’m convinced that Josh Cooley (the director of Toy Story 4) handled this film with malicious intent. Cause TS4 sends toxic messages to the audience. I’m so glad I didn’t waist good money on this back when it was in theaters
@@Emoji_Smiles Bo lost her sheep in those scenes and she was mad at him at that time. Like a mother who lost her children, she is obviously going to act different. We see a scene after the argument between bo and woody, Giggle says that woody's loyalty is crazy but then we see bo defending him and realizes what she has done. And to fix what she has made, she went back to go help him.
GamingMagic13 on his TS4 video went a bit in depth about Woody choosing the kid or Bo. In TS the toys are essentially algories to parents. They refer to the kids as “my kid”, they watch them grow up, make sure they are happy. Woddy in kindergarten is even shown to be more useful to Bonnie’s happiness than her parents. And in the end Woody, that is essentially a parental figure, leaves his kid to be with a person he spent time with for a day after nine years of not seeing her.
I was a big fan of the “Toy Story” franchise when I was younger. I still like the franchise, but I thought the fourth movie was awful. I totally hated it, and thought it was the worst “Toy Story” movie ever. I thought Pixar should have stopped after the third one. I have copies of the first three movies on DVD, but I don’t have a copy of the fourth movie, and I don’t want to have one. That’s how much I hated that movie.
I really appreciate the calm and respective tone you give throughout this video, as opposed to other rant videos where they're too angry to even think up valid points.
Well, being a Christian, I want to make sure that's the attitude I want to give off. I'm so glad you enjoyed the video. To be honest, though, sometimes I wonder if i should have kept that "stupid pill" joke in there. Perhaps that was too far. But I immediately apologize in the video. It can be hard sometimes to know when a joke takes things to far.
Extremely late to this, but yeah, Toy Story 4 was not a good follow-up at all. When I knew this movie wasn't going to be good is when Bo and Woody are on their way to the antique store, when they get to the top of the carousel and Bo says "Why have just one kid, when you can have all of this?" and Woody looks at her in amazement. That just sounds way too close too what Stinky Pete (a villain character) said to convince Woody to go to the museum in Japan. If anything Woody should be applying what he learned then to now: that whether it it's being looked at from afar by children or flitting from kid to kid, it just doesn't provide the same fulfillment as being someone's own toy, being there for them through all sorts of times and being their own comfort and help. Having Woody rebuff Bo's statement would have made for a nice call-back and show how much Woody has grown and learned... but no.
Great review, one of the best takes on this move I've seen. I love your thoughtful and positive energy. I could never quite put my finger on why, though I liked this movie fine when I saw it, I also felt disappointed and frankly saddened by it as a contribution to the franchise as a whole. You've summed up most of my feelings nicely. Toy Story was always about loyalty, love, friendship, and most importantly, purpose. The importance of a toy's purpose, of having a purpose in life, was reiterated over and over the first three movies. I feel like they threw that core message away when Woody ran off with Bo, suggesting he'd "realized" that living for the love of a child was ultimately unsustainable, ultimately meaningless. Not a very optimistic message to cap off a series previously so full of heart.
Sorry, but I can't support you in that it'd be BETTER if Woody WAS Bonnie's favorite. It'd make more sense... but it would be WORSE, overall. Think about this. The toys can serve as something of a parallel to parents: they take care of their kids until they're grown up and ready to face the world. They create good memories and allow the children to grow, both healthily and happily. It doesn't matter if the kids don't love them; what matters is that it is their responsibility. Now, read this phrase: "A toy leaves his kid to spend the rest of his life with a woman he has deep, passionate feelings for." Read again, but switch "toy" for "father". It feels... wrong. There isn't ANY circumstance in which Woody abandoning Bonnie would be okay, unless BONNIE HERSELF rejects him as her toy. It's made worse by the fact Bo is an actual [can't say that, there are pre-school toys here] while Bonnie HAS SHOWN SHE LIKES WOODY BEFORE. Worse even, HOW ABOUT THE REST OF THE GANG? They're pretty much Woody's FAMILY, by this point. There is NO LOGICAL REASON he would ABANDON THEM.
Oh I totally agree. I still would have hated him leaving. I more so meant thst if you were trying to make it more narratively powerful. But yes, the symbolism is not lost on me at all. But despite that, the reason it is annoying is because this movie Is inconsistent with its characters as well as its themes. Woody would never do this. Which is why it's terrible
Remember that time that Woody and Buzz said they'd stick together to infinity and beyond? Yeah me too... :[ Woody isn't just loyal to his kid, his entire arc in Toy Story 3 is him learning to be loyal to his friends (his family) too. Him leaving makes NO SENSE!
@@lasercraft32, Yes! On the one hand, I agreed with Woody's views that the toy gang must not abandon their loyalty to Andy (not to mention, he even warned them to think carefully about trusting Lotso after arriving at Sunnyside). On the other hand, Andy was ready to head to college, and it was time for the toys to let their next chapter be decided by Andy himself which was the point of Woody encouraging Andy to hand him and his friends to Bonnie by the end of TS3.
I must confess that I haven't seen Toy Story 4 and specifically refused to see it when it came out because I thought that a fourth movie would ruin the perfect full-circle ending of the fitrst three just by virtue of existing. And when I read the reviews of the film and found out how it ends, I realized they destroyed the series well beyond anything I could have imagined. Woody's entire character arc is about loyalty to his kid, whether it be Andy or Bonnie. As he says at the beginning of both TS1 and TS3, it wasn't about how much the toys got played with, but just being there for Andy when he needed them. He taught Buzz in TS1, and Buzz reminded him in TS2, that a toy's most important purpose in life was to be loved by a child and make him or her happy. (It's the same reason why Jessie felt so traumatized when Emily gave her away.) And in TS3, with Andy now grown up, the toys were assigned that same task with Bonnie. But all of a sudden, in TS4, Woody is traumatized because Bonnie hasn't played with him in three days, even though he and the other toys literally went for YEARS between the second and third movies without even being touched by Andy, Bonnie plays with Woody later in the movie, AND this identity crisis prompts Woody to leave his kid and the other toys because he thinks Bonnie doesn't want him anymore and Bo Peep somehow is more important? That's just NOT Woody. If toys could find fulfillment in other toys rather than in a kid, then Buzz and Woody could've just stayed at Sid's house and not tried to return to Andy in the first movie. Woody could have just continued accepting Stinky Pete's manipulation in the second movie and gone to the museum in Japan that Al wanted to sell them all to. And he and the rest of Andy's toys could've just struck out on their own in the third movie, not waiting for a new kid to take them in. By choosing Bo Peep over the other toys and Bonnie in the fourth movie, the ones he'd been with through thick and thin; the ones that he'd survived Sid's house, Sid's dog, an exploding rocket, a greedy toy store owner, an airport, a shredder and an incinerator with and for, Woody is trampling on every lesson he learned and that the series imparted to us in the first three films. He acts like someone who cheats on their spouse or partner simply because they found someone else they think is "better" (and that's highly doubtful in this case, given how Bo treats him like absolute garbage this time.) And I seriously hope this is not the message that kids get from this film, because if it is, then we're in for a lot of broken families in the near future.
The best analysis i have seen so far. In my opinion, toy story 4 was a good movie. But this analysis, talking about how the movie could be better. Just sits well with me
@@TwyneTheVine ditto. i remember the look on my face when i first heard about it thursday night. its an even bigger fucking cash grab than this shit was & idk how the hell its gonna be any worse. theyre milking it dry & it pisses me off. they shouldve made either 3 or toy story that time 4got the finale
I agree on some reasons. I totally respect your opinion even if mine is different! Toy Story 4 could have had more but I think the movie was more about Woody's life which is why many characters didn't had that much screentime. Though it did had a meaning to it. Take this as an example. Woody is us and woody's friends are our family. The scene where woody says goodbye to his friends to move on is representing how we grow up and we leave our families to begin our own life. Another thing is that he was loyal (VERY loyal) to his friends throughout the movies by saving his friends even if its just ONE friend in danger he would do the best to go rescue that friend. He felt a bit lost tho. He never got a chance to decide something for his own for years. When he leaves rex says "is he a lost toy now" and buzz says "he's not lost...not anymore" WHICH IT MADE ME CRY SO MUCH.

This film lacked the heart, creativity, and intelligence that the trilogy had. They delayed this film for years and years for something that felt poorly thought out. It feels like a direct to DVD sequel more than anything. Even so when there are some of those I would watch any day over this so called conclusion.
It seems now days they are too lazy to care about what they write or make, Society seems to be pushing that men are weak scenarios. Then if anyone is strong they try to undercut their strength. Why would a story go so off the path of the original storyline like that? Was it the trauma of end of 3? Did the writers and director change or have something in their life to make everyone feel uncomfortable like they are? What a sad thing to do to this franchise.
@@reginafetty6374 The director for TS4 was in fact a different one from 3. In the commentary of TS3, the director said he could never imagine Woody up in leaving his friends, but this new one seems to not care with how he handled TS4's ending.
@@reginafetty6374 I agree. I also feel like that nowadays they don't even use real scripts anymore; they just do whatever the plot feels like it needs and go home. Strangely enough, pixar is supposed to be the among the top billion movie productions to every to exist. How did they let one of their most popular movies of all time get deflated this much?
I feel the same way as you. I feel like it was unecessary, I never took the chance to analyze how it could be better. I like the stuff you came up with a lot
This is why i like germany since we don't have Toy Story 4. The Movie exists in german but not with the Title 'Toy Story 4'. It's like the localizers/translators watched Toy Story 4 and collectively decided to just slap a sub title to that movie and called it a day, which is great since now we can disregard it as a Spin-Off Movie, since let's face it Toy Story 3 was the perfect send off.
YES!!!! The movie had so much potential, and I think most of us were really disappointed in the turn the movie ended up taking. :( Overall the animation is amazing, but the story almost contradicts the whole message that the franchise built over the years/movies. It's really sad, and I think, like you also said very well, that there were some dynamics that could've worked perfectly if the execution was done differently. When I binge watched the entire trilogy I got really attached to the characters, and personally specially Woody, because for me, he is very relatable and it is amazing to see him grow and learning throughout his arcs and become a fleshed out character, that I respect. But I felt like they spoiled it all in the 4th movie :( he wasn't that bad, a lot of people like this movie, but in my opinion he is completely out of character... it's like he lost his depth, the thing that made him relatable and interesting. I loved his loyalty, specially fro the relationship he had with his friends and the meaning that Andy had for him. Andy wasn't just is kid, Andy was almost like a symbol of his loyalty. I thought in the end him leaving to be with Bo Peep didn't make any sense according to his character, and the way they said goodbye also made me kinda upset too! Anyways... for me (and I think a lot of other people), this movie isn't canon and it's just a product of our imagination that gone wrong: XD Loved the video!!! Very good points and the constructive criticism was really well handled!!! Let's just hope Toy Story 5 doesn't happen, and if it does, I hope they make justice for the characters and the fans and don't find ways to make it worse. :)
Wow! So many character assassinations! It's almost as if they were never meant to be in the movie in the first place and the movie wasn't supposed to be a part of the main series, telling us a side story about some different toy instead... But NAH! This can't be! Right, Bo Peep? They wouldn't do that. See? Bo Peep agrees with me! ...yeeeaaaaaaaaaah...
hey I had the strangest dream yesterday I was dreaming about woody I saw him move without him knowing and he realized I saw him then he disintegrated and I suffocated to death Then It Was All Black
I’m sorry I get your point But one thing I have to point out Andy actually loved woody but Bonnie didn’t love woody he was neglected she kept playing with everyone but him at least Andy played with Everyone Even if he loved Woody and Buzz the most Bonnie in TS3 hyped up that she really liked Woody and then out of nowhere he’s not shit and if your excuse is she’s a girl she won’t care for cowboys then why she still play with Buzz. So him leaving Bonnie for Bo to me was justified
But he wasn’t neglected. He didn’t get played with for three days out of a seven-day week one week, meaning he still got played with plenty. He also got played with during the road trip and wasn’t ignored.
Yes he was , at some point in the movie she takes all the toys out the closet except woody and then takes his sheriff badge , gives it to Jessie and throws him back in the closet And you look at montage during the beginning she puts woody on a toy chair and literally leaves him there for days while playing with everyone else
While you're absolutely right that making Woody Bonnie's favourite toy would be much better, it still wouldn't be right and Woody would still look like a jerk because he put his own goal over the happiness of a child. Bonnie would be devastated to lose Woody. And yes, I get the message that you should pursue your own happiness even if it upsets your family (although I think there is a line that the modern Western society can't seem to see saying that your own good is more important than everything else, especially that terrible thing called family). But Woody is a toy. Being there for a child who thinks he's the best in the world should be every toy's goal, as established in the previous movies. They didn't make him Bonnie's favourite toy just to avoid showing him as a monster hurting a child for romance and freedom. If anything, he should've shown Bo that her supposed love of freedom and reluctance to "have a child" is just fear of disappointment and abandonment. But of course we can't have a female character being wrong anymore. Still, I 100% think Bo is in the wrong here, which is just her unresolved trauma and insecurity speaking. Seriously, watch it again, her constant assuring how "perfectly happy" she is that way and how this is generally a better life for a toy sounds much like covering her dissatisfaction with it.
I sincerely hope that nobody replaces don rickles as Mr. Potato Head, just like whoever that was that replaced Jim varney as slinky no offense but rest in peace Jim varney, and don rickles slinky and Mr. Potato Head.
2 was the last Toy Story to be directed by John Lasseter. most people dont like "PIXAR films", because PIXAR doesn't make films, they make animations. directors make films. this is why people like Ratatouille and Incredibles also, that's not PIXAR's doing, it's Brad Bird.
I have before enjoyed many kids movies that don't have the best reputation, including Shark Tale, Shrek The Third, Free Birds, The Nut Job and Minions, I consider The Emoji Movie an abomination not so much for its plot and writing but more because it's a shameless celebration of smartphone culture, but Toy Story 4 is an abomination through and through. Toy Story 4 is close to IMDB bottom 100 material. I still hold Toy Story 1-3, the 1st movie's spinoff TV shorts, the spinoff Buzz Lightyear series, the theatrical shorts and TV specials that followed the 3rd movie AND the tie in console games all near and dear to me. Also the new Lightyear spinoff movie. Even though Disney+ is a thing, I REFUSE to part with my Blu Rays of the first 3 main line Toy Story movies (4K Blu Ray in the case of Toy Story 1). Toy Story 4, however, is TERRIBLE! First things first: there DID NOT NEED TO BE a 4th main line Toy Story movie. Toy Story 3 was the PERFECT sendoff for the main line movie series and the 3 theatrical shorts and 2 TV specials were all we needed in the way of "what happened after the 3rd movie?". What else is wrong with Toy Story 4? Bonnie tossed Woody to the wayside as if she completely forgot the lesson Andy gave her on why she's special, a lot of the other writing choices (not all of them) are stupid as hell, the other characters aren't written as the characters they were before (I forgot the proper term: is it SHELL of one's former self?), the 3rd act is written in a way so that Woody can NEVER return and Woody LEAVING THE GROUP showed that the writers clearly did NOT watch Toy Story 2 to the VERY END! While some of the new characters were decent, what use is Duke Kaboom when he did NOT work as advertized? Surely his toy company went bankrupt as a result? Shouldn't they have RECALLED him? I don't know, why am I looking for logic in a big budget main line Disney movie that feels more in line with the mass produced direct to video stuff Disney used to force feed us? That's another thing: say what you want about the direct-to-video Disney sequels that were mass-produced from 1994-the late 2000s, while I do agree that Hunchback 2, Fox and The Hound 2 and that Beauty & The Beast Christmas special are all wastes of space, some of them, like Lady & The Tramp 2, The Little Mermaid 2 and The Return of Jafar, as bad as they are, could've been hidden gems if they each had more time in the oven! I also consider the Lion King and Lilo & Stitch sequels to be genuine hidden gems! They may not be as good as the theatrical movies they are sequels to, but they didn't need to be! Furthermore, I feel that if Lion King 2 had more time in the oven, it might actually have been worthy of a theatrical release! Toy Story 4, however, why did they even bother? Was there REALLY that much demand for a 4th movie? Then again, if Muppets Most Wanted (I still like that movie regardless) felt the need to reference waiting for Toy Story 4, maybe there was for some reason. You want to know what REALLY hits me hard? Despite considering Toy Story 4 a downgrade from its predecessors, I STILL asked for the 4K Blu Ray for Christmas that year and got it! I have no idea why, maybe I didn't think it was THAT bad at first? Maybe I was Pixar completionist? Well, not only do I DEEPLY REGRET asking for it for Christmas (making it THE BIGGEST WASTE of a Birthday or Christmas present on my end!), but just before Christmas that year, an election took place that was obviously rigged, the bad guys won and now my country is much worse for it. Ever since unwrapping Toy Story 4 that awful Christmas, I just left it on my shelf, never even removed the cellophane. Deep down, I REALLY wanted to get rid of it, but wasn't fully sure I really didn't want it. Wasn't until around September or October last year that I FINALLY decided to donate it to a local charity shop. I donated it to Gap in The Market, a charity shop who help the homeless. They helped one of my brother's friends after he ended up homeless and it's also the shop I bought 2 of my PSP games, Ultimate Ghosts n Goblins and The Simpsons Game, from!
And the other sad part is, in toy story 2, they said that he is the last Woody doll.
not to mention isn't woody, jessie and bullseye like rare super expensive collectables i know bonnie probably didn't know that but still
i wonder what happened to stinky pete the pickaxe toy in the second movie
@@UA-camBlobMcFish yea, i know it isnt just woody. its just that Andy gave bonnie his favorite childhood toys and bonnie plays with them, its just that Andys favorite toy wasnt played with. Im not saying she should all the time, its just that Woody was neglected and became a lost toy. He also just said bye to his best palls just like that
@@JesusWillComeBackSoon I mostly blame Bo Peep for not letting Woody go home

@ms.pirate lol yea when that collection guy told the guy on the phone. That’s why he wanted him in Good condition 👍
"Why does Jessie stay in the van?"
because if Jessie had been able to talk with Woody then she'd have used her experience of being abandoned and how Woody convinced her that the importance is to be there for the kid even if it means them leaving one day is the most important thing a toy can do.
Y'know instead of the whole "I'm going to disappear without the kid knowing what happened, because fuck that girl, I got my bo-peep back."
that's why.
I was a huge woody x bo peep fan and even I hated how it ended.

Sooo... How do you feel about the "Lightyear" movie?
Agreed! I will never buy this movie or let my children watch it. The first 3 are enough

Good video! I really agree about Jessie being forgotten in this film, like why would she just stay and do nothing? That isn't who Jessie is!
It’s the nega-Jessie.
Not to mention that Toy Story of Terror was "retconned" cuz she's back to square one of her claustrophobia.
@Awesome plush vids You don't think she could be sick from inhaling all the dust from inside the closet, right? Because her hyperventilating out of fear from being in the closet despite her overcoming her fears in "Toy Story Of Terror" looked out of place to me.
@Awesome plush vids You think so?
@Awesome plush vids It was just a simple question. I wasn't angry at you.

What would Andy have to say to Bonnie if he found out she lost him?
or at toy story that time 4got
hes gonna go ballistic when he hears she lost him
Andy is a grown man who would forgive Bonnie because she's five years old and going through big transitions in her life.
@@hunterolaughlin That would have been touching 😢
@@PlayersPurity Definitely check it out if you get the chance.
What made me angry is that Bonnie forgets Woody after she PROMISED Andy that she will take care of Woody.
ditto. how the hell can she just 4get about him all of a sudden after toy story that time 4got & play with a damn fork she made? it didnt make any damn sense & was totally ooc. she was all over him in that, toy story of terror & the three shorts. then she just leaves him in her closet, pretends she never found him & doesnt even realize or give a shit that hes gone at the end. nobody would ever play with a fucking fork over a real toy like him. he & buzz said in 3 whatever happened they were all gonna be 2gether 4 infinity & beyond & thats how it shouldve been. i mean 4 gods sake they all almost burned alive 2gether in it
While I agree with that statement, here’s what really made me angry about TS4, Gabby’s (though I call her Annabelle cause that’s what she looks like) happy ending, though she doesn’t apologize for her horrible actions.

I'm just gonna say it...
This movie did Buzz dirty more so than Mater in Cars 2.
Buzz Lightyear was turned into dumb. I also loved Star Command. It fleshed out his character pretty well, and I liked all his team mates.

@@popsingerstar Patrick Warburton and Pat Fraley did a pretty good job as Buzz

Toy Story 4 has a chance for all the toys to work together in their own ways talents instead of following orders from Buzz when Woody isnt around, like in Toy Story 2 and 3.. It's a lesson in resiliency and flexible problem solving. Buzz is given more freedom to work on himself.

8:53-10:06 I would have loved to see Buzz and Jessie look for Woody together too. What I would also love to see is Jessie standing up to Bo for treating Woody very badly. Commercial Announcer: (voice-over) Duke Caboom, riding the amazing Caboom stunt cycle. Ca-booooom!
(Rejean beams at the real Duke Caboom toy in his hand...)
Duke: (voice-over) I was ready to finally do what I was made to do.
(...revs up Duke. Sends him up his toy ramp...)
Commercial Announcer: Ca-booooom!
(...but Duke clatters to the floor far short of his plastic ring of fire accessory. Rejean’s face falls.)
Duke: (voice-over) But when Rejean realized I couldn’t jump as far as the toy in the commercial...
(Rejean kicks the launcher over. leaves the room...and Duke lying abandoned on the floor. Back to the present, Duke is caught up in the moment.)
Duke: (sputters) ...It’s a commercial! It’s not real! Rejean threw me away! It’s not fair! Why Rejean! WHY?!
(Duke collapses with his bike to the floor, crying his eyes out. Woody, Buzz and Jessie look on in sympathy, except Bo, who just crosses her arms and rolls her eyes.)
Bo: Okay, okay. Calm down, Duke. That was a long time ago.
(Buzz and Jessie glare when Bo says this.)
Bo: (kneeling down to Duke) Right now we need the only toy who can “crash” us onto Gabby’s cabinet.
Buzz and Jessie: What?
Woody: Crash?
Duke: -- crash?
Bo: Any Duke Caboom toy can land, but you are the only one that can “crash” the way you do.
Duke: I am?
Bo: Yes! Forget Rejean. Forget your commercial. Be the Duke you are right now - the one who jumps and crashes.
(Duke thinks.)
Duke: Be who I am...right now.
(Woody looks at Bo. Takes in her words of wisdom. Jessie knows where this is going.)
Jessie: (quietly) No, no, no--
Bo: Who’s the Canuck with all the luck?
Duke: Caboom?
Bo: Who’s the greatest of the great white north?
Duke: Caboom!
(Woody is admiring Bo’s ability to pump Duke up. Buzz and Jessie are not thrilled in the slightest.)
Bo: Who’s the most spectacular daredevil Canada has ever seen?
Duke: Duke Caboom!
Bo: Can you do the jump?
Duke: Yes I Canada!
Jessie: (disgusted) Well bust my buttons!
(Duke springs to his feet. strikes triumphant poses. Doesn’t stop. Bo smiles at Woody.)
Bo: We’ve got our ride.
Woody: (pulls string: voicebox) “Yee-ha!”
(Bo smirks.)
@@ThomasLover-fr8nhI swear that sequence was so good, that now I want to see more of it! You a could be a writer :D I want to know what happens next. You got me intrigued
They weren't trying to make the best movie possible, they were trying to make money period.
Love your thoughts on this
She called him an accesory back when she was mad when she lost her sheep.
@@lasercraft32 did u not see the movie tho? She later realizes what she did and go backs to help him and apologize. The movie is also about forgiving each other. Its not like we dont fight sometimes with our friends.
*_And then friggin' Bo Peep ruined EVERYTHING!_*
You know what?
We're TOYS! We don't need KIDS!"
ugh...
And in the sequel, it had the f*cking nerve to basically praise Iduna and Agnar because of their love uniting their peoples, despite it NEVER acknowledged that they made so many bad choices when it came to handling Elsa’s powers, basically treating her like a circus freak by locking her in her room and ostracizing her from the entire kingdom, including Anna
So yeah, I don’t really count critics opinions because of how wrong they are on certain movies
If he's included in Toy Story 5, I will be displeased.
looks like Woody and Buzz are back in the next one, based on reports... -_- this sucks.
@@Velevenugh.
As someone who hasn't seen the 4th movie yet, this comment sounds like stating the first 3 movies of Woody's arc. If this is what Toy Story 4 is, then its existance doesn't sound necessary.
Toy Story 4 ruined the entire purpose. What you said really isn't an opinion because it was backed up by facts.
Toy Story 3 had the most perfect ending to any movie and 4 completely ruined with
My biggest problem with Bo being a "strong independent woman" character is that we never saw _any_ of that in the previous movies.
My theory is that Toy Story 4 is an Alternate Universe
That would make a lot of sense considering that the entire movie is a jumbled mess
Of course it ruined characters. The director made the movie awful and then he left Disney and left into the sunset.
Toy story 3 did it first before avengers that's why it's so unique
The way Bo peep treated Woody in Toy Story 4 felt kinda feminist dominant to me
Bo treated him like that when she was mad when she lost her sheep. For example, a mother lost her kids. The mother's attitude would be different. You can later see in a scene after the argument bo and woody had she realizes that she loves him because of his loyalty.
@@Hiccups_l0st_l3gNope, she was rude throughout the whole thing. Don’t try to use the sheeps as an excuse.
Sure
Was it a bad movie? Not really
Was it a good idea to make a 4th? Absolutely
I’m more than willing to bet that Woke Disney wanted to make a 4th movie, because they know for a fact they’re losing their customers, but they’re only making it worse.
Also, Bo peep is made out of porcelain. She would break trying to do any of her little stunts and too much heat would damage her.
I’m so glad I didn’t waist good money on this back when it was in theaters
what are the toxic messages? If u don't mind telling me them
@@Hiccups_l0st_l3gbo is literally abusive towards woody
Toy Story 4 should have never happened. Anyone who thinks it's better than the trilogy should be ashamed of themselves.
You took the words right out of my mouth. Next time someone complains about Incredibles 2, remember it's because this piece of s#$@ exists
I can't blame you for everything you said. I just prefer the ending for Toy Story 3
The only solution that could have fixed this film was not making this movie in the first place lol
Having Woody rebuff Bo's statement would have made for a nice call-back and show how much Woody has grown and learned... but no.
Toy Story 4 was not needed!
I agree with your opinion, toy story 4 was literally trash
I agree I didn't like Toy Story 4.
Biggest problem for me by far is Buzz. Dude is a leader and then he doesn't even know how to think anymore.
Thank you so much.
9:40 Disney: we don’t have enough strong female characters
Also Disney: let’s have our existing strong female characters do nothing lol
The movie was rushed and rewritten so a lot of creative ideas were scrapped
Toy story 4 was trash. So don't feel bad for calling out a badly written mess.
Now, read this phrase:
"A toy leaves his kid to spend the rest of his life with a woman he has deep, passionate feelings for."
Read again, but switch "toy" for "father".
It feels...
Woody isn't just loyal to his kid, his entire arc in Toy Story 3 is him learning to be loyal to his friends (his family) too.
He acts like someone who cheats on their spouse or partner simply because they found someone else they think is "better" (and that's highly doubtful in this case, given how Bo treats him like absolute garbage this time.) And I seriously hope this is not the message that kids get from this film, because if it is, then we're in for a lot of broken families in the near future.
and also with gabby she would notice jessies pull string if she went with buzz and would take hers instead of woodys probably

Nice review. You're full of charisma/passion and it translates well to video; I subscribed. Keep up the good work!
I will rather watch the black Friday reel or the toys dying in a plain crash
You know, a few years ago I thought I was the only one who was smart enough to realise how horrible this movie is. Thank god I’m not alone in this.

my dad & i flew 2 disney world on wednesday with our lake friends 4 my first time since i was seven in 2002 & i had even more fun than last time!!! my favorite part was going 2 toy story land & meeting woody cuz hes my favorite like andy! first i met jessie, gave her a hug & she took me over 2 him!!! i was ecstatic, waved 2 him, told him “hey woody! hey partner!” & hugged the shit outta him!!! my dad said itd been a while since he saw me smile as big as i did. i wore one of my toy story shirts & they pointed at themselves on it. they were gonna sign it but i dont think they were allowed. i didnt get an autograph book like last time so woody got some paper from a staff lady & they signed that. he did first & i hugged the shit outta him again while jess did. buzz was there too but i didnt meet him. i wish i did tho & i will next time im there. i dont like roller coasters but slink looked like a gentler one & i gave him a try. my dad & i were in the last car so i was really nervous. i said omg on the first drop. i felt like i was falling. when he launched i was like “oh god” but i got used 2 it after that. i was still nervous tho. when everybody put their hands up on the hills i only put one up & held the bar with my other one. wheezy didnt move when he sang youve got a friend in me at the end & neither did his mouth. he mustve been broken. slink said “so long pals” when we got off & i said “so long slink.” i definitely wanna go back & maybe i’ll ride him again. hes my second favorite cuz i love dogs & he was woodys best friend b4 buzz. after that i got a mini set of the ride, a slinky that lights up, one of the aliens that says his phrases from the movie, a monsters university beanie & the ball with the star on it. im 29 & have all the guys. woodys the first one i got on may 18 10 years ago at toys r us! i got him with me right now & promised him i’ll always love him & take care of him no matter how old i am!!! i didnt care if i was 19!!! but two years ago i was sleeping with him & his head came off :( when i woke up i was as devastated as andy was when he ripped his arm in the second movie. i guess it was just wear & tear. i got it back on but now it shakes & turns a lot. now when i pull his string sometimes he doesnt always say his phrases like he used 2 & just says im being loud. im trying 2 keep my promise & never, ever, ever, ever break it. slinks my second favorite cuz im a dog person & he was his best friend b4 buzz. when i play with woody & buzz sometimes i tell them they mightve said goodbye but as long as theyre with me theyll have each other & all be 2gether 4 infinity & beyond like it shouldve been. im glad toys r us opened back up in macys & opened some of their real stores back up but i hope they open them all back up like they were gonna b4 the pandemic. i still love it & toys
Honestly yeah 4 was mid at best
I agree with you, man. I also hate Toy Story 4.
Don't worry. I hate it too
Oh please I hated it too especially bo peeps new personality and Bonnie's betrayal
Anyways... for me (and I think a lot of other people), this movie isn't canon and it's just a product of our imagination that gone wrong: XD
Loved the video!!! Very good points and the constructive criticism was really well handled!!! Let's just hope Toy Story 5 doesn't happen, and if it does, I hope they make justice for the characters and the fans and don't find ways to make it worse. :)
The dialogue that you made is great
Thank you for your kindness
@@TwyneTheVine Thanks for making this video.
@@crashban4t.f.s.b783 I'm still amazed that people are still watching this after so many years
Right on the money :)
I've said this before and I'll say it again. Toy Story 4's plot works best with new toy characters instead of using the original trio.
Why isn’t this viral?
You are too kind 😀
hey I had the strangest dream yesterday I was dreaming about woody I saw him move without him knowing and he realized I saw him then he disintegrated and I suffocated to death Then It Was All Black
Toy Story 4 destroyed the Characters
7:30, they took out the star spangled banner theme in toy story 2. I don't why, maybe copyright?
I’m sorry I get your point
But one thing I have to point out Andy actually loved woody but Bonnie didn’t love woody he was neglected she kept playing with everyone but him at least Andy played with Everyone Even if he loved Woody and Buzz the most Bonnie in TS3 hyped up that she really liked Woody and then out of nowhere he’s not shit and if your excuse is she’s a girl she won’t care for cowboys then why she still play with Buzz. So him leaving Bonnie for Bo to me was justified
But he wasn’t neglected. He didn’t get played with for three days out of a seven-day week one week, meaning he still got played with plenty. He also got played with during the road trip and wasn’t ignored.
Yes he was , at some point in the movie she takes all the toys out the closet except woody and then takes his sheriff badge , gives it to Jessie and throws him back in the closet
And you look at montage during the beginning she puts woody on a toy chair and literally leaves him there for days while playing with everyone else
You got the intro right.
Yeah man, 110% what you said.
I couldn't agree more!
