For sand set applications, Polymeric Sand is used. For applications where the porcelain is adhere to concrete, grout. Sand is not recommended in the joints.

@@Hardscape_com if the lines are narrow, how do you enable the polymeric sand all the way to the bottom? I believe you’re not allowed to use the plate compactor machine (Not sure it’s name)
@@brazillianguy01 great question, our porcelain pavers are manufactured so they can be compacted with a roller compactor or with a plate compactor that has protection under the plate. We manufacture our own Polymeric sand made for porcelain pavers, 1/8” joint space is what our spacers provide for the installation of our products. Hope this answers your questions .
Was there any type of thinset used here or is it just set on top of stand like brick pavers?
It was installed over aggregate base, just like a concrete paver is installed. No Thinset
What about drainage? Do you have to drill holes in concrete to allow water drainage from base gravel/sand as I've seen on other websites?

what are they paying for mud set install out there?
We are not sure, we are the suppliers, plus, all the projects here are dry laid.
What about weed growing in between the grout line. I understand there is no ground in them but sand but that creates an issue of weed growing.
Porcelain pavers installed over aggregate use a special polymeric sand, no weeds will grow and no ants either
