He talks about real events of his life, and has meaningful songs all the time. I feel like most people know August for his mainstream songs, but don't give much attention to records like this. August Alsina this song really hit home. Ive been down with you before the world new who aug was. Your music has helped me through my darkest times. Being a girl from New Orleans who raised herself and never let anything bring her down. I didnt have my mother she moved back to cali when i was 3 months old and let drugs control her life my father was a jail bird alcholic all i had was me and my brother but the streets took him from me. I dropped out of school my freshman year because i needed to survive. I was selling drugs robbing people and some mo shit. It was you that made me realize i had to get out before i ended up dead or in jail. I went from being motherless to reaching out to my mom and getting her help shes not the best but i love her and now my father is an addict ive been takinh care of myself since i was 13 life aint easy. I got my shit together moved to cali and started a new life i graduated high school a year late i am now a college student in training to be a medical assistant.I cant thank you enough for being my Prince Charming I love you Aug keep doing ya thang
