Old pushrod motors in those are unkillable. 4l60 behind it probably hates you, but they can be built tough as nails too. I always feel better after a good smoke myself! Badass burnout brudda! -ford guy
I killed my ls6 last March in the burnout box. Only took 5 seconds roughly. Freak incidence we all figure. Wasn't too cold or warm of an engine but it was WOT at the redline. Have a 408 stroker to replace it though. Still kinda shy of break standing burnouts but it'll fade and with forged internals I'm told it's unbreakable.
