Because of great people like Fitzwilliam and so on back then, today's people are only benefited, they play their song and make money. This is what is happening today. No original composers, it is all gone, only modified composers are there

I found this book at my school library. I am going to study it over Christmas break, but I needed ideas on the ornamentation. This is an excellent resource. Thank you!
I grew up listening to this on LPs. It was one of my favourite records (on 6 disks). I am so glad to be able to find it again online and listen to it. Beautiful music.
yeah…..i don’t think most of the other virginal books were publicly available although the individual pieces themselves may have circulated despite not being formally published
@@macbird-lt8deSee the video description where it says that the music in the Fitzwilliam Virginal Book (a manuscript) predates the first publication of keyboard music in England by 50 years. I would call Parthenia a commercial publication of sorts (it was reprinted several times in the 17th century). The first issue (1613) appeared around the time FVB was copied. Also, there's little doubt that the copyist was Francis Tregian. Someone tried to disprove that once but I think the consensus these days is that he really was the copyist.

It's always incredible to think how preserved music is from 400+ years ago in time. It's a real treat being able to listen to it today.

What do you mean by “6 disks”?
I try to play some of these pieces on the piano, its not easy, especially the Ornaments.

The names of the composers are indicated in brackets, as far as known. In most cases, they are provided in the manuscript.
It was originally published as a collection of various music of the day ... by various composers.
