Another fix video on You Tube for weak hammer strike has one pull out the big spring in the grip and place a small bit of leather into the bottom of the spring well putting extra pressure on the spring to strike the primer. That solution seems to work well for many even with the lousy 9 mm... I converted a .22 LR Cobra tro a .32 ACP Cobra with just some factory parts, now one gun is both ...
Your video was a great help in fixing my Cobra CB 38. with new firing pins, springs and the selector. Mine wouldn't fire the top barrel and sometimes the bottom one. It turned out because the selector was dented from me forgetting to take off the safety. I'd been messing with it off and on for acouple of years and was getting ready to break it into pieces and toss it.
Good video. I've seen other vids with the shooters experiencing chronic misfires, but yours is the first I've seen offering a solution. Nifty holster. You have a talent for leather work.
Hi Sean my name is Walter glad I seen your video about her derringer I tried to do a trigger job on mine to make it easier to Paul by Trigger hard time to put hammer and spring back together till I seen your ad that’s a great idea pulling the trigger back at the same time I finally got the pin back in thanks a lot God bless you you taught an old guy New trick God bless you like to have one of your Derringer holster your friend Walter keep in touch bye-bye
Your video skills are good - nice and close up, can actually see what you're doing, and your "rambling" if information relevant to the video, not ten minutes of where you got it, why you carry it, what you had for breakfast... I've got a *real* low tolerance for that stuff, and you didnt trip it.
I'd like to see more about the part you filed to improve the trigger pull. I know people are saying to clip the spring, and it probably helps. But I think there's for to be a way to remove material to let that hammer release better. I am interested in the holster.
Hey Shawn I like your video you provided some good info thanks. I do some leather work myself and after seeing your video I was very impressed with the holster you made for it great work and worth the money your asking for it. Good luck
I like the video, but I have had my Cobra 9mm for about 3 months or a little longer. I have shot close to a hundred rounds and never once a miss fire. I heard you can't use steel cartr. I've had absolutely no problem with miss fires, i did have some problems ejecting shells. But did a little buffing no problems . Beautiful gun for the price .
I have to say that, l have a Cobra 22 Mag and had a serious trigger problem, and took it apart and solved the Problem, and seen many utube videos with other Cobra Owners with various problems, can't blame the gun for quality that comes from the manufacturer, worth the value if you don't mind working on them.
I just recently purchased a Bearman 22mag derringer and it only shoots the bottom barrell. I can see when the trigger is pulled, that the selector with the small spring attached isn't alternating for the top barrell to shoot. Do you have any knowledge on how to fix this problem?
While yo have it apart, clip the main spring about 1/4". You may need to clip more, but make sure yo don't clip too much by checking that it is compressed the shoulder on the guide pin. This will lighten that atrocious trigger pull.
@@Shawn_fast I sold my 9mm COBRA Derringer. I bought the small size COBRA Derringer in .32acp caliber and never had a misfire or fail to fire. My pistol fires every time. It's just a better hammer, internal design in the small COBRA derringer centerfire pistols.
My question is does the hammer hitting the safety cause the bottom firing pin to not fire bottom shell. I bought mine used and bottom shell gets a light dent in primer wont fire.
I have a cobra 38 caliber derringer . My lock lever for the barrel fell of and a little spring and tiny bearing fell out ! Can you tell me how to put it back together ? Please
Just polishing the trigger and hammer mating contacts with a dremel felt-tip with some fine diamond dust dropped the trigger pull on mine from about 38 pounds (I'm guessing, my trigger pull gauge only goes to 15, took both hands to fire the damn thing) to around 9 pounds!
Hey bro I had a hammer break your video helped me with that. But now I’m misfiring. Not sure if it was a normal prob since I only shot 2 shots b4 it broke(could’ve been coincidence) but only the top fires now. Not sure what to do now I see it rotates but the bottom pin only comes out all the way sometimes when doing the rotation. It left a minor dent on chamber but no fire... company worth the ish so hopefully u can help thanks
I've actually have the opposite problem the top barrel when fired the primers on the shells look like it's almost about to break like the firing pin Hits it to hard
I have One like the one you have. Except it's chambered in twenty two mag. I Dry fired it a couple. Then it won't fire on the second cylinder anymore. what did I break some small little part came out of it. But I was at the gun range and I was unable to retrieve it. do you know what I could possibly broken or have any idea how much it costs to have it fixed? it's a really nice gun, but I would like to have it fixed but now I will never fire on the second shot ever
I had the same issue with my girlfriends .22 magnum Derringer. However upon reassembly I noted a crack in the rotating piece for the fitting pin. The plate retaining the firing pin itself was also broken into 2 pieces. We have only managed to fire 3 rounds through this pistol after about 8 misfires. There was a burr on the hammer which I fixed but I think we're gonna take it back and exchange it on account of 2 major parts failing within 3 days and 3 total shots. We really liked the small caliber Derringer, too. :(
My bottom barrel doesn't fire anymore , it did for a bit . Never dry fired it . You can see the bottom pin does not come out as far as it should . Anyone got an idea what it could be ? Thought I'd ask since there has been replies over the years .
sorry, i sold the firearm. but it was nickel that i removed and polished the aluminium. also to make the holster again... i would need the gun(i didnt make templates)
Good friend, how are you, I want to ask you where I can buy the hammer of that model, is that I have one and my hammer broke, if you can help me I thank you for a greeting
Molim vas, po čemu je ovo dobar video? Po tome što je objašnjeno da je cijev šuplja? Osnova cijelog sustava je opis rada trigera i izmjena hamera u trenutku okidanja a kako je to objašnjeno? Nikako a i sam hamer? Nikako. A i ono što je prikazano je više izvan kamere nego da se može vidjeti. Loše! Šteta.
Hey Shawn, had a quick question just bought a used cb9 .the firing pins don't move.do I need to replace the pins or is it something else? The pins are sticking out not in the gun.they don't go in or out, regarding me cocking it ,, anyone??

Great video. I lightly sanded my hammer and now mine shoots flawlessly. Thanks for the ONLY video offering any solution to the misfiring issue.

I came across a second hand Cobra 38 special, got it really cheap since it was "broken".
Thanks to you, I fixed within minutes
You've done an excellent repair video--thanks!

Very informative video. I have a Davis DLB-9 .9mm. You answered every question I had about my derringer. I'm interested in a holster.
Thanks. This helped me with only having 1firing pin work. Bought the gun used but fixed now.
Awesome video, thanks for posting. Nice job on the holster too!!!
Excellent trouble shoot bro!
The repair worked great on mine. Thank you for the advice
You are very welcome

It was, I myself had to make shot switches for Derringer (the caliber was different).

I want one of those holsters, can you let me know
Digging that holster...nice concept.
thanks for taking time to share
found out you can take the hammer / selector etc out without taking the firing pins /spring/plate off the gun.
Does this cause any problems while cleaning?
Before I shot it I check out the bird situation. It has got rid of that and polish the hammer. Time to do something with that trigger
Can you post a video on how you lightened the trigger pull?
I like that holster..you still make them?
Dig the holster. Great job
I have a gun like this. My safety button is extremely hard to push. Can that be taken out and polished or fixed?

I think Cooper must have LESS Stress in life than me! 🐕
sorry, i sold the firearm. but it was nickel that i removed and polished the aluminium. also to make the holster again... i would need the gun(i didnt make templates)
what I see is you fixed damage by dry firing. Mine is screwed up from the manufacturer.
Good friend, how are you, I want to ask you where I can buy the hammer of that model, is that I have one and my hammer broke, if you can help me I thank you for a greeting

Can you make one of these holsters for my Cobra titan 45/410?
Sorry man, I no longer make holsters. The inquiry is flattering though. Thank you!
Where can I get another firing pin from ?
Cool umm mine misfires i tried but dont know
so my father in law has one with this issue. you think he needs to sand that portion of the hammer?
I'd say so. firearms are precision machines. The smoother and well refined the machine is the better it will work.
Nice holster
Yeah you done a good job
Its the BBG9
BBG9?
You could have just released the safety. Mine fires every time but only with the safety off.
