So, what's your dream 997? Tell me in the comments, which trim, year, and options are you after?
I have a 2011 turbo s. Drive it daily. Probably paid too much, but I got the perfect car, 2 year cpo Porsche warranty, had only 15k miles - but it was available; I didn’t have to wait. The car is a beautiful, fun to drive, monster. I liked your video, but wish you had more to say about this model. Thank you.
.2 targa manual because of the rarity plus practicality
997.2 GT3 RS and 997 turbo manual.
997.2 GT3 RS 4.0 is the ultimate 911 model of all time, your car has some amazing factory options enjoy and keep it for life🫡
@@MrSWW Thanks that is the plan. The RS 4.0 is the pinnacle of 997, Mr JWW had a black one, any connections to him?
Thanks for creating this video. I have an '06 Carrera 4 that I bought new. Still running great.
Great to hear!
Very informative as usual😁and interesting fact about the telescopic oil filler, I learnt something new
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video!!
Glad you enjoyed it
Are you saying that the wheels are available in both 18 and 19 and the style of the wheels can help determine 997.1 vs 997.2? Because I have a 997.1 and it came with 19s, as did many 997.1s. 18’s were available (and maybe standard) for the base Carrera, but you absolutely could get them in 19s. The infamous Lobster wheels are 19s, Carrera Classics, Carrera Sports, Designs, even the turbo wheels could be had. The 996s came with 18s. In the video it sounded like you were saying 997.1s had 18s and the 997.2 had 19s.
That said, this was a pretty comprehensive overview of the 997. Well done.
You're absolutely right! My apologies if it came out that 19s were not avaialble, as the 997.1 definitely came with 19-inch wheels as an option, and many did, including the Lobster wheels and others you mentioned. 18s were indeed available, possibly standard on the base Carrera, but 19s were a popular upgrade. Thanks for clarifying!
Regarding the 997.1 ims issue, did I hear it right 2006 engines and newer are less prone to the issue?
Search "Porsche IMS" recall, lots of information on the topic. Besides the recall which Porsche will remedy the problem for you, they also had started releasing cars aware of the issue. So if the Porsche in hand had a caring owner, then preventive maintenance would have been made by now.
I'm buying a SY 997.1 SY Coupe 3 pedal car. The only reason I watched a few minutes of your viddy is because you mentioned SY. I'm not subsribing
Thanks for the comment. Enjoy the SY!
Please please please don’t say Porsch. It is not a Porsch. It’s pronounced Porsche…with an e at the end.

Guilty, I'll keep that in mind!
It's always the people who don't own a Porsche that criticize the way others pronounce it 😂
@@diamondbrogamer9874 guess what, I own two.
Ah damn checkmate then 🤝
I have my dream 997.2 now
