I am 67 and I have GBS along with terrible arthritis.
I have shot all kinds of cameras. I sold my 37 pound back pack of all Canon gear and purchased an XT3 with a few Lens.
Now my backpack weight is around 18 pounds.
So happy with that and my 35mm Nikon film camera.

I was a happy Nikon shooter but now am a 100% Fuji shooter with both a X-T3 and X-T5. Hard to explain why the change other than economics and a few other reasons. as you have so eloquently explained, for they are both good systems. Enjoy your vids Gary.

I moved from Nikon to Fuji XT-5 a year ago and have since added the diminutive XE-3, which is incredibly lightweight. I've also just taken delivery of my first Pixel phone, the 8 Pro, an upgrade from a Samsung S21. So I wish you all the best with the iPhone 15, hope it works out okay and look forward to a review.

Interesting move. I am 77 and needed a lighter system and are using fuji XH2/s and find they are light and easy to carry around even when I am doing bird photography with the 150-600 lens. I am interested to know what lenses you are using?

Thanks for watching. I'm using a few smaller primes at the moment while I test a few lenses to see about a nice wide angle for my landscapes - Fuji lenses, Sigma, and Sirui are the ones I have just now. I'm updating my website with the kit I use in the very near future as there are some new additions here.😁👍

@@GaryMcIntyrePhotographer I already use the 16-55 f2.8 but wanted some smaller lenses so also have various primes but for wide angle I went with the viltrox 13mm f1.4 which is a superb lens although a bit heavy but for extra wide I bought the Laowa 9mm f2.8 zero D (distortion) which is one of the smallest lenses I own but has no contacts so is fully manual but because it is such a wide angle having most of the photo in focus is quite easy. You need to hold it level and you will get no distortion at all.

Gary I shot Nikon for many years since I was 16, back in the film days, I switched to Fujifilm a few years ago and loved it, I have the XT30 and I still have some of the old Nikons, It is time for an upgrade and the XT5 was going to be my next choice, but I am attracted to the new Nikon ZF. Not sure what I will go with. The only think I dont like about Fujifilm is the worm effect I get on some images especially woodland. Enjoyed the video even if your images make me homesick. Thanks for sharing.

Funny...kinda going the other way right now, moving from Fuji to Nikon Z. Not sure how it's gonna go yet, haha...Just love how those Nikon images look.
Your photography is wonderful, regardless of what gear you're using! I look forward to seeing more of it.

Back in the days of 35mm I shot Pentax. When I came back to photography and digital around 2006 I started with a Fuji point and shoot. I do love the colour Fuji reproduces! But when I sold a couple of images from that point and shoot it enable me to buy my first DSLR... I went back to Pentax. I do still miss the colour of the Fuji but I choose Pentax.

Hi Gary, good to see that you move now from two camera systems to one, that is responds well with you style of shooting. I am also a long time Nikon shooter - not the high end, but probably low end. I have used F100, D200, D610, Z5 (current camera). But few years back I have got a Fuji X-E1 (for the street photography and as a light camera). I was blown by its sharpness and colours. In this year I have compared my 24mp Z5 to 16mp X-E1 for landscape photography - I love more images produced by X-E1... Now I am seriously thinking to switch to Fuji (I am choosing now between X-H2 and X-T5, more inclining to X-H2).

If you can get the opportunity to try both of the Fuji's you are leaning towards that would be great. I've had the X-H2 for a little while now and it's great, bigger handgrip and faster focus than the X-T5 but not seriously much faster so it would be worth seeing what one suits your photography best as you won't go wrong with either. Thanks for watching 😁👍

@@GaryMcIntyrePhotographer thanks for reply, Gary. I am Shirley will try both camera - but from what I see the bigger grip of X-H2 is a big bonus (but I need to see it worth it). Considering all internals are the same for the still photography - I am not too bothered by the camera controls layout, but more to the Fuji colours and sharpness (Xtrans sensor). I am looking forward for you review of X-H2 - since you used both it is very interesting to see your judging 👍(especially - fully articulating screen, but you had it in X-T4 already, so no surprise to you, I assume 😉)

Gary, a few months ago you did a video on travel kit and mentioned the Sigma 18-50, hoping that it would be better suited to the XT-5 than the Fuji 18-135. I can't recall seeing a review of the Sigma - will you be doing one? And have you tried the Tamron 17-70, which also sounds like a great travel lens? I ask because I have an XT-5 and the 18-135, and I'm looking to swop out the 18-135 for something better.

Great to hear your thought process, and moving to Fuji should expose you to that community which is great. I just found you via your post about the Sigma wide angle lens for Fuji review. Fantastic images that you shared there, by the way. I myself have been Fuji X system for about five years now, and recently got into a Nikon Z6II and a couple great Nikon Z lenses. Bigger and heavier for sure, and seems like it never really misses a shot, whereas with the Fuji, I think I shot more images that I am absolutely blown away by, but also had a few more misses (I have an X-T20 and an X-T3) than with the Z6II. I am torn between APS-C and full-frame, so I am keeping both systems for now. Looking forward to more content from you on the Fuji side!

I’ve moved back to Fuji from the d850 and the heavy pro glass. System was too heavy and at 70 was struggling even with the f4 lighter lenses which I wasn’t happy with. Still do some paid work and some stock as well and the X-H2 the X-T3 + 16-55 & 50-140 red badge the 60 macro 23 1.4 primes do the job well. I use DXO pure raw LR & PS The H2 & T3 are standing up to the Ayrshire weather and my occasional dropsy Tried fuji earlier with the xt1 but wasn’t ready for the change but their systems are great now especially the 40mp will stick with fuji plus their customer service is good 👍

Think I’ve previously mentioned that I’d been a D750 to D850 to Z7 II and enjoyed them. But I’m getting on a bit 😮
So sold all and now have Fujifilm X-T5! Initially had difficulty getting my head around its system…,but now almost there and REALLY enjoy ~ there is something about Fujifilm. Me thinks the world does too since NIKON are bringing out ‘retro styled bodies too (well can you believe it 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣). You summed up why I changed over …
Like you I only really take landscapes and add a couple from my walks on my channel (old man & remote Scottish walks). I print to A2 both X-T5 & DJI Mini 4 Pro and superb prints (EPSON P900) 🥱
    Enjoyed your video…

Was a NIKON user for 23 years back to the Nikon F3 film and still held on the my D2x and a couple lenses. Just sold my Hasselblad Medium format system. Purchased into the Panasonic System 6 years ago in MFT. Loved the weight and size of the body, lenses and price. Then moved into the Panasonic S5ll FF when it was released. I have NO REGRETS with my choices either. Bought a DJI MAVIC 3 PRO from my sales of my Med-format system,, and having a blast in Nature shooting both still Photography & 6K video from the ground or the air! All in my back pack with room left over for extra lenses, and stuff. Don't sell many 30x40" prints anymore as the Artworld has changed and shifted so much in the past 6 years, so I didn't see the need or value for Med-format any longer, and let's face it... lenses are still HUGE, heavy and cost a fortune.

I'm 70 and usually have my D750, D300 and vatious lenses in my back pack. I collect vintage lenses so the lenses are all metal. I hike all day. Feels so good.

I have made exactly the same journey for the same reason from Nikon D 90, D700, D750 to Fujifilm XT-1, XT-2, XT-3, XH-1, XH-2 and XH-2 S. I also done print above A2 and it serves all my photo needs. The glass are excellent and much lighter than Nikon similar lenses even after the mirrorless fullframes have appeared on the scene.

A1 no problem, you do sound like you can't settle lol. GFX amazing if you print A0 and bigger, but the weight with the lenses and all, too heavy to be lugging about all day long. Now make your head hurt, camera format, 4 thirds, APSC, 35mm, medium format. They are all full frame if using the correct lenses. The annoying crop was down to Canon who put an APSC sensor in a Canon 35mm eos, so the lenses would crop! If you stuck a GFX lens on a Nikon D850, the shot would be cropped. Added point, just been looking through your website, well worth the visit.

I'm getting older and the weight and size of my Nikons are getting annoying. I have moved on to the Fuji system-X-T5 and X-S20 and a few lenses. Still, I have kept some of my Nikons and still love the D700 and D3s. The content is what matters and I am happy at this point. So much new gear coming out one can't keep up with it.

Changing systems willy willy is stupid. You would have improved your photography and photographic opportunities by investing that money in a trip to Western Australia where the landscapes are different from anything you have seen, where the challenges of shooting something new are greatest.
For most photographers, the brand of gear is inconsequential. For me, lenses matter. I like Canon TS-E lenses, and their use allows me t make photographs that you cannot. I do not like the weight of "full frame" systems, so I regularly use lighter systems. Fujifilm X series is a step in that direction, but I went further. I use micro four thirds cameras. None of them is current, one was when I bought it.
I still like my TS-E lenses, I have sold my Canon DSLR I used to use with them, and now use a Lumix S1R and adaptor. The newer camera allows me to make photographs that I cannot with Canon cameras.
You don't need lots of pixels for big prints, Christian Fletcher is a professional landscape photographer who runs a gallery in Dunsborough. He's recently switched from Phase One to Leica SL2, from hundreds of megapixels to fifty. I have seen photos from drones in his gallery, from their 16 megapixels cameras alongside photos from his Phase One cameras Big prints, no discounts for "it's only a drone." He's a former International Landscape Photographer of the Year, it's likely he knows what he's doing.
A problem with medium format cameras is the lack of range of lenses. Most landscape photographs wand an ultrawide zoom, a |standard| zoom, a long zoom. OM Systems covers that in two lenses, 7-14mm, 12-100mm. Lumix G in three, 7-14, 12-35, 35-100. They are small lenses. Both have 100-400. Both have a selection of primes.
