Love seeing a field of psychology in the modern world (like the US) able to accept and surrender to these beliefs, values and ways of living. These practices have been around for thousands of years in Asian cultures and ways of life like Buddhism, Taoism, Hinduism, etc. Definitely need our culture to drop any stigma associated with respected, ancient practices , values, and ways of life that are proven effective at just being human in every day life...not only sport.

this guy is describing Vipassana meditation, which is a central tenet of Buddhism. its nice that he's found out about it and is helping the Seahawks to win the football through its use. It's too bad he forgot to give credit where credit is due. so i'll do it for him, thanks Buddha.

It's "Sport Psychologist", not "Sports Psychologist". The way you have it written translates to a psychologist for the study of sports (demographics, populations, academia, sport management, sociology) but with the correct title, it is a psychologist within the sport. This is like calling long snappers as centers. Little semantics in titles can mean a huge difference in roles.

This dude is taking the principals of Eastern Spiritual practices (breathing meditation and Vipassana meditation) and renaming them into some form of Western cognitive-behavioral therapy. I mean come on dude, if you are going to appropriate a culture, please give credit to said culture. He’s taking the Western cognitive-behavioral stance rather than giving the proper credit. Why am I not surprised. When I saw sports psychologist, I though, hum, this looks interesting, let me check it out. But now disappointed. Then had the nerve to say hippy-dippy spiritual as a mock. Geesh!!
