It shows that they are learning, that they want to just have fun, and that they understand that the fun of the game isn't derived from winning.
It also allows them to learn more about stupid mechanics and get better at them, as shown by brawler in the video.
Some new guy sees a bunch of heavys collecting everyone's lunch money? They will better learn melee timings by actively playing worse. New guy sees a bunch of hoovies? They will learn how to interact with and be a friendly.

I've always wanted to play Pyro tennis ever since I saw some people do a video on it years ago.
dunno if that video is even up anymore cause I can never seem to find that specific video anymore. All I remember about it is it had some kinda military music over the titlecards and they had to pause mid-tournament to teleport trap a griefer that joined.
