I’ve never understood why people hate the sound they make. I’d argue the flywheel noise is the best part. That way you know the gun is ready to fire. So many times I’ve been trying to toe nail with a Milwaukee in a tight spot and you never know if it’s going to fire or not. Dewalt ramps up and you know the tip is depressed enough and it’s ready to go. Also, it’s the only gun I can use without hearing protection. All the others may be quieter BEFORE you shoot. But they are all louder after

Thanks for the review. I've been so curious to see how this would perform. I would like to see if it can consistently drive 3" or bigger nails into lvl. I love that they were able to shave some weight, great point on analog being a good option. Definitely not a fan of flywheel noise though

I love the fact that it's analog! It needs to be a quality built machine that is built to last, eliminate misfires, and have high-quality parts that can easily be repaired in the field!

There's one thing you didn't do; use 3 1/4" nails and drive them in with full depth in different materials and angles.

Man DeWalt needs to make a 3 1/2 version. So don't have to put a extra nail to meet code. I knew if I waited they would make it better than the first one. And extended rack nice. Gotta run n get one now.

I think for basic framing and construction, this thing is legit vs setting up a compressor, or even hand driving nails. I've ordered one after passing on the previous gen 21 degree. I wear ear pro most days running a saw, so I doubt the noise will bother me. Thanks for the video!

First gen was most durable, cant get even spare parts to those, 2nd gen they made it wear out faster and 3rd gen weight saving means weaker parts.
DeWelt nailers tell how many thousand nails you have fired , by blinking its light , so in maintenance they know if customer claim low usage and its fired 20k nails,

The flywheel design stays cooler on hot summer days so a benefit there. So for a nice NON harsh shot, and Longevity, Metabo HPT hands down. We use them to sheet houses sometimes, 2,000 nails in under an hour, with one gun, anything over about 1000 nails almost continually firing makes very any gas type extremely unhappy. But the older generations of Dewalts never had the power for ring shanks in old rafters. And no I am not switching to slowly loosening smooth nails. And the older Dewalt driver tips mushroomed, you had to pull them and grind them smooth occasionally. My FIrst Dewalt showed 50,000 plus nails on the cycle counter.

Actually is plan to see the dewalt is smaller. 5:06 in video. It’s shorter and does it have that side pump out like the Milwaukee. It’s narrow at the tip and tapers back consistently. It’s fatter at the back end but where it matters up front its narrower and doesn’t have that offset plastic.

I've got to see this gun in person at a Home Depot and a guy asked if it's more powerful than the Milwaukee well were in Home Depot and I know they carry Milwaukee so they bought one and used a forge battery and the dewalt the small power stack 1.7 ah and still drove the nails deeper on every angle using 31/2 nails and was faster

  • @Sgten01
    @Sgten01 19 днів тому

Id definitely would try using it with 1.7ah powerstack. Weight is a big factor in a nail gun. Wouldnt even consider Milwaukee cus of the weight. I got the paslode right now and really want to try the dewalt to compare it.

I can absolutely garentee that the dewalt tracks how many nails you've fired, the last ones all did it and you had to press the button in a set combo and there's alil light on the side that'll flash once for every 1000 nails, this will be no different, average of about 25/30k nails and the spring for the flywheel will be knackered and need changing, common problem with them but a cheap fix you can do yourself, anyway looks like they've taken the motor from the concrete nailer so this should be a good improvement hopefully it'll last longer than the previous gens.

I have the last model ,it is excellent and I personally don't think they are as bulky as Milwaukee etc .The Dewalt nailer is reliable and fires fast ,it is well balanced. The noise is not a concern as all electric nailers make noise,I wouldn't hesitate to buy this new nailer if I needed it .

I have the previous one as well(rebuilt at that) and use it as a full time carpenter for two and a half years and I love it outside the weight. I have a paslode as well that’s quite old, and a guy I work with has the Dewalt, my Dewalt runs circles around both the other two. Had a guy helping us with the newest paslode and it was off every time we tried to fire it, drove me crazy! When it was on it just kept up wit my Dewalt. I think just some of the Dewalt are great but a large portion seem to maybe have a defect, when you have a good one they’re the best but most aren’t.

I am black and yellow team, spent over $300 on the first 30° 1st gen framer, which was totally garbage. Then I bought a 21° framer. It was good for a couple of years with very very light use (maybe 50 nails per month) nailing boards up in the attic to brace chandeliers. Now it started acting up. I am very disappointed. I have a huge 20v lineup tools not easy to switch brand. I use pneumatic guns for all day framing.

The DeWalt looks big…until you set the same size Milwaukee on it. It comes down to weight and comfort and TBH I haven’t held either.
Yes, I know one is wider…and requires less maintenance. Typical given the two brands.
Granted it was a decade ago and things are always changing. After spending exactly ten years in construction, I liked Milwaukee slightly more…until they broke. Which every single one of them did…within a year. Not the case for DeWalt. Tools were bulletproof, batteries not so much…at the time.
Like I said, things are always changing. In fact, thanks to this jokester, I’m currently leaning FLEX. Occasionally Makita.

There's nothing wrong with analog settings. What is the difference? It's not any harder to change modes. Ive used tools that have had issues with changing modes on their own due to vibration with digital. A nailer wouldnt have that issue but like I said it doesn't matter. Or like dewalts variable speed grinder has a dial while flex 24v is digital and the dewalt has more speed settings
