Another Vivaldi gem the Larghetto from this Concerto literally stopped me in my tracks when I first heard it on the radio. It took some doing but I finally had the station identify the piece for me (believe it or not it was not immediately identified following its being played) & is yet another of my Baroque Desert Island treasures. The Oboe remains my favorite instrument for the Baroque period where most of its most beautiful music, IMO, is featured thanks to Vivaldi, Marcello, & Albinoni.

Vivaldi is by far the master and lord of baroque music for oboe..his slow movements are poetry..polished filigree.of rare and exquisite beauty.
