I moved to Redlands in 2011. Then I moved to Yucaipa until 2017. I just can't get enough of Redlands. It's so beautiful here. It's amazing to see what this town was like in 1987. I was only 3 years old when this footage was shot. Amazing. The mall is still here.
Very neat video. It's amazing how much things have stayed the same. I lived on Olive and Eureka from '09 to '11 and spent a lot of time at the Redlands Bowl and the Library, they look the same. Thank you for sharing!
Um.... no it's not. Smog is as abundant now as ever, if not more. That's one of dozens of reasons why I left not only Redlands, but the state of CA a year ago this summer.
Mario Zambano Compared to what, Hong Kong?? I lived there for 38 years, and the air SUCKS, especially when there are fires (about 3-4 times a year) that make it dangerous to BREATHE! Look.... www.usa.com/redlands-ca-air-quality.htm Compared to the rest of the state, Redlands is about 30% WORSE than most of CA. And look at your neighbor, San Bernardino! www.usa.com/san-bernardino-ca-air-quality.htm
It is much less soggy now, especially the gases that cause the brown haze that totally obscured the mountains. Now our main problem is ozone which is invisible. I guess that's progress.
Who remembers the little green bus in the early 70s we use to live on the corner of Cajon and palm me and my brother would take the bus around town for a dime I was five he was seven never had any problems going alone it was so safe back than
Pretty darn cool to see Redlands way back when. Moved to Loma linda/Redlands in 88 and lived ther until early 2000s. Moved back from L.A. a couple of years ago and was absouletly surprised to see this video. I love cycling and my route takes me from L.L. through San. Tim up by Redlands community hosp., through smiley heights, along Sunset, down towards Live oak canyon, up towards Yucaipa/Oak glen area and then back home. Thumbs up
Funny how long the mall has sat , I loved the flipper flapper, millers outpost and hot dog on a stick. Who would of thought that there would be the metro from San Bernardino running right thru town
2022 who here watching how beautiful redland was back in the day….

Now that was weird. I lived in Redlands from 1979 to 1986 and I attended Sacred Heart. Watching this video made me feel like I was 15 again.
I attended sacred heart too

Look at the smog! I was 14 when this video was shot. On some days back then, I remember it hurting when I breathed deeply. The air is much better now.

I've lived here my whole life. Used to love it as a kid. Now its a shit crowded mess. I can't wait to move. South end hasn't changed..the rest has.
i love that mall hope it comes back in 2017
Looks about the same now. Crazy...
Who went to REV? 😊
I did
Don’t think it was there in 87 😂
I"ve been to here in 1987.
Cool video. A tour inside the mall and up state street to the the 80's businesses would have been neat.
Rossmont
and the Redlands bowl used to look so nice now it all cracked up...and littered
LOL it actually looks better today than in '87
AND ALL THE GREEN YOU SEE...ITS ALL DEAD...THANKS ALOT DROUGHT
Drive in from Mojave. Even with drought Redlands is remarkably green and full of trees
