The fact that you noticed Taemin's vocals first makes me very fond of you Aaron. He's an exceptional dancer and he made me appreciate the art of dance, but his voice is something special. KPop fans just usually listened to his title tracks and missed out on how versatile his voice is. And the most awesome thing about him is that he's a brilliant thinker, he's musically gifted in a way that he knows exactly how best to interpret a song. Just like his dance, he doesn't do things just to impress. He studies the material and fully immerses himself into the essence of the music and lyrics, and turn it into a masterful performance. He's a living art.

There is a reason why "Never Gonna Dance Again" was chosen by TIME magazine as one of the best albums of 2020. All the b-side tracks are so amazing and with sounds so diverse and different that I don't even know how to classify his music, something that only Taemin can offer you. Different and unique. Every time I hear "Heaven" it makes me want to adore him even more. Hahaha. His discography is top tier.

Fun fact : Heaven was performed by Taemin before its release in Act 2, and the song stopped waaay earlier, I hope i'm not saying something wrong but the added part was the bridge and outro! this song is so godly (no pun intended)
You’re absolutely right. The whole bridge adlib section was added on his album and it was a genius move! Before the song was great too, but this section made it a real masterpiece.

He wrote Heaven more than a year before NGDA Act 2 got released and performed it on his T1001101 concert and the song didn’t have a bridge or outro yet then and before the release of NGDA Act 2 he got himself a co-writer to add the bridge and outro together with him. Also the Beyond Live stage of Heaven is the best one since he wrote this song especially to be performed on a LOPSIDED stage which is the signature for his T1001101 concerts. Fans waited more than a year for this song after hearing it for the first time in the concert and it was worth all the wait 😭

This is it, you named it just on point - sonic heaven is exactly what Taemin creates and I’ve been stuck in this heaven ever since I discovered him and his music (which I’m not complaining by all means!). Taemin’s voice is my absolute favorite voice in whole Kpop - the tone, the emotions, his versatility - everything he does with his voice is fascinating and totally my cup of tea.
I hope you’ll check out much more of his b-sides - Black Rose, Identity, Clockwork, Mystery Lover, Never Forever, Strings, Sad Kids, there’s just so many amazing songs it’s impossible to recommend just one… :)

I totally agree with you! Most reactors love his dancing and there's nothing wrong with that,he's an excellent dancer, totally captivating. However, his voice' the one I feel in love with . His bsides is just like ... chef kiss. And I am so happy that I found someone who appreciates it as much as I do.

I fell in love with Taemin's voice before I even see him or knew who he was. I was learning Japanese, and I'm someone when learning a new language I listen to music in that language and watch everything in that language too. So I started looking for Japanese music, I had an app where I used to randomly write things related to my taste in music (like: calm music, soft sounds, blabla..) and I click on the songs randomly and listen to them (without vids) and that's how I came across the angel that is Taemin!!! (I thought he was japanese lol) so after downloading plenty of his songs I realized that he sings in Korean too (that's how I got into Kpop), then started actually searching for him to know who he was and that's how ladies and gentlemen, I fell in love with him even more, as an artist and as a person too.
(Not that anyone cares, but I wanted to share anyway haha have a nice day)

Yeah Soldier always makes me emotional too, and probably Sayonara Hitori was the first song I heard from him. I've always pictured the song as a perfect intro/outro to an epic Anime lol (since it was in Japanese)

Regarding the emotion you’ve been asking about, to me in this fragment he sounds both commanding and somewhat desperate, which creates an incredibly emotional, powerful and enchanting impression. It’s like he’s both pleading and simultaneously commanding you to “give it to him”. Ha, ha, that’s what I feel at least, sorry if it doesn’t make sense to you :)

You should really do album reviews of Taemin .... they're really amazing
Heaven is amazing. It sounds literally heavenly. The choir parts remind me of Prince (the Artist) during his Batman/Love Symbol years. Also the "I bet you like that" whispers are like, so close I feel like he is behind my shoulder. The part you wanted to ask about the emotion, to me it sounds arrogant, sexy, frustrated and a bit rebellious. As if an angel fell from the heaven....
The whole IDEA album is a masterpiece
6:50 - it's really hard to explain, but in my native language there is an expression "он словно оголенный нерв" which in really raw translation sounds "he is all like a bare or exposed nerve". It means that all feelings of that person is outside, and if you touch him it will be painful. Don't know why, but i have this feeling when Taemin sings in that tone.
With Taemin in the military, things have become a bit boring for me in kpop except for other SHINee members' activities, thank goodness! But Taemin is my bias and I am undeniably quite saddened by his absence. I watch reaction videos to kind of 'deal' with the sadness but a lot of reactions are just so....... not genuine. That's why I'm so happy I came across your channel and even happier that you are loving and appreciating Taemin more with each video. Thank you. Your Taemin reactions are some of the very few things I look forward to these days. ❤️

If you want to completely ascend to heaven please watch Heaven drone cam version from his Beyond Live Concert this year. He does it on a tilted stage which he did too in previous Heaven stages but this version also includes the bridge and outro. The performance makes it a thousand times better.

10:13 YES! It was the same for me! I discovered Taemin by chance. A friend recommended "Sayonara Hitori" to me but when I was going to listen to that song I realized that Taemin was already on my playlist.
"Press your number" was that song I used to listen to every morning on the way to college. I didn't even know who the author was, I was just caught by his voice.
So yeah, I think the same. His voice is captivating as is his ability to dance.

If you are okay with just listening to his b-sides without mv, “Light” and “String” in his recent Advice album, “Identity” in NGDA act2 are my recommendation:) It is just amazing that he is still improving and he is bringing those improvement to his new albums every time. so can even say by far, his best crafts, or best version of him are in Advice album. At least, according to Taemin himself.
Never Gonna Dance Again pt.1 is personally my favorite but I do get why people really love part 2. Both are great, I strongly recommend listening to them in order if you're going to. As for Heaven, this is the one that had me wide eyed and taking a moment.

This was also the performance where his SHINee members were waiting backstage for the first time literally the day Minho was discharged from the military.
