Canes are so fun!
As a newcomer to your channel, I'd recommend units (mm or cm) to the paper when you hold up a number. It took me a few episodes to realise that holding up a square of paper with a "3" means 3mm thick.

This is the step display of the pasta machine I use.
Most existing subscribers know this.
It can also be included in video captions.
However, the marking of the pasta machine steps varies from company to company.
Step 7 is the thickest step and step 1 is the thinnest step.
You can work similarly. It doesn't have to be the same.

I would like to do that someday if I get a chance.
But I don't know if I can say I'm a timid and shy person. ha ha ha
you could really keep looping this process, make the color, make the rose, and use that rose to make a new one. Just keep repeating it until you either get much darker colors than you started with or to where the design starts to get lost on the petals.

Have you ever done a skinner blend? Or in this case, a skinner rainbow blend? You only need to use three colors- red, yellow, blue, and you get the same gradient you have.

I pause, rewind 10 sec, play. My canes never look precise like yours. Is the secret just to keep practicing? It looks as easy as breathing, but, I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.
Well... all crafts require a period of proficiency.
I've been working with Polymer Clay about 8 hours a day for over 18 years.
You will also develop proficiency with practice. You don't have to practice as much as I do.
With a little practice, you can make the perfect cane
the first thing I said when I saw the end result was "HOW DARE YOU!!!" you somehow managed to impress me so much I switched from shocked to offended. 😂🤣

It's very beautiful but I don't understand the name of it. I even looked up the word thinking I must have missed that day in school but it is still a mystery to me. The only thing I can figure from it is like if you took a slice or dissection of a type of cane plant and this would be a result?? Or is it to show how to create this look in something like those cross sections that are made from hard candy that is stretched and cut into a particular image?? I'm lost.
