The trolls are in full force on here. Fred is a veteran and man of integrity. He can’t be bought by a few ounces of fancy whiskey. Show some respect. He’s in on the $7500 joke! 99.9999999% of us will neither see this nor be able to afford it. He said it was for entertainment! Thanks Fred. I appreciate the entertainment.
Glad you posted this, not sure why anyone thinks you should have drank this off camera and kept it a secret instead of sharing it with us.
Shoeless Fred Minnick, whiskey reviewing legend! Thank you for giving me, as someone who will NEVER get to sample this whiskey let alone afford a bottle, a glimpse into just how good it is. Damn, you described it absolutely amazingly. Thank you and keep up the great work Fred.
It's wild that they would even do media samples for a bottle like this! Congrats on getting to try it at least 🤘🥃🥃
This makes it even worse.
The best marketing you can do for your brand these days, in the whiskey community, is being authentic. If youre most comfortable in a sweatshirt then wear that.
Thank you for the review! I am glad I grabbed a backup of this Weller, it looks great next to my bottle of Old Grandad!
7500 dollars, I see myself in a 1 13:27 937 V16 Cadillac Limo dressed 13:21 in high top hat and tails with a professional driver. Telling to driver piss on the party it's here in the Caddy. Park it and join me. Neither Will happen. Great review
For that price it should be nothing but cask strength
Target market for this are the people who buy Louis XIII and Macallan 30, not people who enjoy Rare Breed and occasionally splurge on a Stagg Jr.
@@therinsig ya non drinkers
Gluten. I was off it for like 4 years and my gut and skin was better than in 40 years.
But dammit I couldn't stay off them cookies and pasta and bread so back to farting all day.
I am sure Buffalo Trace is thrilled you are talking about milk farts in the review of their ultra premium product hahaha.
I was at a bourbon raffle in Ohio yesterday. Getting this at MSRP for the handful of people that got it. Wow.
We call them Hello Dollies too! I know exactly what you’re describing. If this tastes like that? Damn, we’re missing out!
I have this weird reaction when I drink too much bourbon🤪
But seriously, I love cherries, but if I cross the line, I get gastric distress. And I don’t know where the line is. Fortunately, it is only a problem during summer months. You can get them in Winter, but I don’t scarf them as fast because they are so expensive.
Here from Va and they just dropped these. Nice info. Great video.
Great video! Thanks!
I get that wired bump in the roof of my mouth too!! Crazy…I can pop mine (sorry if tmi) but it comes back when I eat certain foods…didn’t know it was an allergic reaction.
Damn you almost made me cry watching your first sip lol
Butter, cheese and cream. The casein in it cause me to break out with cystic acne and have dandruff😅but it's addictive. Probably because it converts into β-casomorphin.
There's no justification for that batshit insane price, and Fred barely mentioned it.
it comes in a crystal decanter similar to the woodford bacarrat which is also a few grand - add in that this is 18-24yr sazarac product and they're going to juice the price to the moon.
It sounds like a blend of Makers Mark Wood Finishing Series.
I totally thought you were going to say you weren't wearing pants.
Well I wasn’t
Shorts tho
Thing I shouldn’t have but do… bourbon… cause I love it 😊
No way!
Price tag! OUCH!!
Love your sweatshirt, Fred. My team won it all last year. Good luck to the Cowboys this year!
IN a few years, we will be able to challenge Penn State, but you all are so dominant!
What??? That sounds fantastic, but that price tag is ridiculous.
hrmm...tough call....one bottle of this OR 214 bottles of Weller Special Reserve for the same price!
hahahahaha. i kid. thanks Fred for all the great content!! cheers buddy.
Makes you wonder what a 2 once pour would cost.
That right eyebrow raise 🤨 and exhale says it all Fred had a Bourbon-gasm. 🥃
is that my tell?
This is exactly why I appreciate you. First, Oaky State garb is perfect. Go Cowboys! Second, shoes are overrated, barefoot rules. Finally, honest reviews matter, regardless of price or availability. Thanks!
So much hate on this thread. The whiskey is rare and should be priced accordingly. I will never get the chance to try this, but that’s ok. Releases like this can inspire other distillers to make similar whiskies in the future. Plenty of great affordable stuff out there for all of us mortals.
To answer your question 4:20-4:30. Yes. Alcohol. I drink alcohol. 😂
Wow $7500.00. Never see it.
This isn’t a pour for the faint hearted. Let’s face it guys, if you can get this bottle $7,500 isn’t a problem. I happen have a friend and client who is a good friend with a Sazerac Ambassador who has already talked about getting a bottle of it. I’ll just have to live vicariously through his experience. 😂
We should all be able to see this in the wild collecting dust. What idiots are tossing $8k on a wheated blend? Could've got one today at MSRP and said absolutely no way
BT has jumped the shark on this one. Enough is enough.
6:17
It's good to see BT come out with a good whiskey in this series. Everything I've heard about the Emmer Wheat Weller release points to it being not worth the price tag. I'm not saying this would be worth it, God knows I could never afford to buy a bottle, but I might try a pour at a bar in it wasn't too unreasonably priced. Thank you for the review and keep up the great work.
Ahh, yes. Very good to see BT release yet another bourbon that is totally inaccessible to 99% of the people that support their business in the first place and fueling the fire of what is ruining everything there is to love about bourbon
A pour at a bar, priced to make ZERO profit would be around $600
Spicy food. Never been an issue for the taste buds, but once I hit 35 my digestive system started to hate it.
Jealous. Would love to try that! F all the naysayers and trolls on here. A blend of 20+ year old gold…sign me up. Well, sign me up for a taste, but $7500….😂😂
Just one White Castle slider does it to me for the next 24 hours
I'm not even sure why I watched this video. I know I will, nor will many other people, ever have a taste of this.
Very cool. I will probably never get to try it but had a very similar experience with Thomas H Handy. It was amazing. While William Larue Weller and Eagle 17 was better over all that complete mouth feel was what I got from the Handy.
I'm sorry but its a hard hard pass. Even if I won a lottery I wouldn't spend this on a bottle of whiskey. It would have to come with a happy ending on each sip and even then just No. Sazerac has lost their minds. But their marketing team should be given a serious bonus again.
One thing I love the taste but gives me a bad time is WHISKEY lol. In moderation!
like stomach ache kind of deal or bad decisions?
@@FredMinnick I like to keep busy and wake up early and find that when I have more than 1oz I tend to feel groggy/ sluggish the following morning. Hope you have a great day sir! Thankful for your advice.
Just a pour would cost more than I wanna pay for bottle of whiskey
some bar gonna charge $10k a pour, you just know it
I thought you were gonna say you weren’t wearing pants LMAO
What if I wasn’t wearing pants?
@@FredMinnick touché salesman touché
Love the review. If you paid 7500 would you change your mind?
Yup. And i have paid that much before for whiskey i loved and didn’t love.
This isn’t something that was once cheap and loved and is now 7500. It’s not for us in the general public. idk why people are so pressed about this. Scotch and wine have shit like this all the time 😂 The price is half the allure to the target market of this bottle
Unlike wine and Scotch, bourbon's $1k+ bottles are relatively new, so some growing pains for pricing. And we bourbon people are passionate for the value! hehe
@@FredMinnick look at a Macallan or Dalmore with that kind of age statement and compare. Considering there's 10s of thousands of those bottles compared to a relatively low amount the price isn't that crazy.
Is whisky or any liquor worth it, is a question for the buyer.
I blinded this against Mellow Corn and it wasn't even close. Not in this Millennium!
^^ this comment for the win
@@FredMinnick Fred I'd be willing to trade you one bottle of the mighty MC but I'm going to need a full case of the Weller Millennium.
Nothing beats Mellow Corn 😂
hahahaha. you keep slinging the one liners LOL
BT getting greedy
Yes, and we have all seen how much hype BT products can generate… between people hoarding $40 Traveller’s whiskey on release to people buying $8000 bottles of Weller Millennium. At this point, they are fighting fire with fire in my eyes (people are greedy) and making a killing of a profit in the process.
I eat bread once in a while.. shouldn't but it is good....guily p
easure
Yeah…whiskey taste soooo good.
Well, $7500 on secondary is bad enough, but for a company to set that as SRP is disgusting. The industry needs to get over itself.
Only $300 an ounce.
Go Pokes ! ! !
The folks who got media samples will be the only ones to ever taste this. The other ~200 bottles sold will go to collections. The world would be better without Sazerac Corp. Make bourbon rational again 🤘🥃
lol. He apologized to the whiskey. This has to be satire.
I would like to side with anyone $100 that this bourbon won't come in the top 10 in a blind of 100
Wtf, where is the squeaky chair? You think I’m here to see a review for a very cool double unicorn bottle?
we retired the squeaky chair around December. I do all my reviews standing up now; thus, barefoot. haha
Next time you have something I will never have, please just lie and tell me it sucks.
Truth is, I have disliked a ton of stuff this expensive and more expensive. Last year's Daniel Weller was a giant disappointment, for example.
Onions
👍🥃🥃🫘
LMFAO 🤣 this is ridiculous!
Here come the crying dudes upset they can’t buy every single
bottle in the world
Every time 😂like who gives a shit
I bet it tastes like bourbon.
Please please please get rid of the long focal length blur in your videos. You’re not even in focus for most of this video. It’s very annoying when only a small portion of the frame is focused. Especially when you’re sitting/standing at the table and the bottle you’re reviewing is out of focus (not in this video but your usual review videos).
Weller Millennial. Hard pass.
Can't wait to see this EXTREMELY biased review. For one, getting this type of whiskey for free is a bribe. For two, they donated a bottle of this to a cause Fred was also contributing to... sooo exceptionally biased. If Fred would come out and say "Yeah, this is neat, but incredibly gimmicky, over priced, and not worth the hype" I could respect him.
So what you're saying is, if the review is negative it's genuine and if it's positive it's fugazi. Totally logical and not an unhealthy level of cynicism at all. Not even in the slightest.
Don’t watch it if you don’t want to
1) this bottle will sell out regardless of the price
2) all whiskey “influencers” get free shit and tend to do their best to remove their bias
3) just because it is true that he got it for free and they donated a bottle doesn’t mean Fred isn’t honest
I don’t think Sazerac or Buffalo Trace need Fred’s help to sell these bottles.
He got a free sample not sure how a sample is a bribe...
Haha You don't know what you're talking about. He has been critical of super limited releases he gets for free all the time.
