@phillyguyonamission That is incredible!! I loved reading your story. So your iron became low due to the diet or was it low before? I am thinking about doing this diet as well, I already have low iron so supplements is the way to go? I have something from my naturopath but it does no good in the bottle, I need to take it. Do you think you will continue the journey?
For low iron I would suggest oatmeal, red lentils and most importantly spinach but consumed together with orange , amla or other source of vitamin C, Iron supplements are also an option, put down calcium supplements if you use any they block Iron absorption. Also I would stay away from heme-Irion which is easier absorbed but carcinogenic.

A mistaken premise in Dr. Mike’s baseball card analogy is the notion that shorter life expectancy equates to “rarer years,” and that the principle of scarcity applies when judging the value of life. With baseball cards and other objects, scarcity pertains to the supply of the item relative to demand. This calculus has nothing to do with life extension, where each person’s expected future years are independent and not commodities. The value of these future years is not based on economic relations but is intrinsic. This is why, when forced to make a utilitarian calculus, people will choose to save the person with more potential future years over the person with fewer. For example, saving a child over an older person. More future years mean more value and more to lose, in a first-order approximation. If anything, I’d expect that having a life expectancy of centuries or millennia would make people more risk-averse and value their lives all the more. They would have more to lose, more uncharted future potential, more and deeper relationships, more future phases of life and vistas of self-actualization to explore.
Finally! Someone addressed that idiotic question. I don’t know Dr. Mike, what I DO know Is comparing values of longevity with rare collectibles - totally unrelated - and pretending he is oh, such an uber-intellectual for coming up with this analogy, made him look a wretched buffoon.
I think Bryan was too diplomatic in his answer. Equating rarity with lifespan is a such a ridiculous equivocation it's not even funny, especially because it completely ignores optionality. It's always better to have the option of living longer, as opposed to have that choice taken from you.
It’s also important to keep in mind just how stubborn and prevalent the ‘immortality’ delusion is. Hundreds of millions of people don’t actually feel the reality of just how short their lives are, just how few years they have left. How many people truly process the novelty of their youth while they’re in it? Not very many. ‘On the shortness of life’ by Seneca knocks it out of the park
This is fantastically written. Shows like Altered Carbon explore the idea of unlimited life. But show it in a way like Dr Mike portrait it. I think there is a lot of truth in your angle. If I know I can life another 40 years in good shape, my life becomes way more valuable. I can take on bigger projects, bigger goals. I have more to loose. The angle you take on life itself becomes way more important if you can life longer. What motivates you? How do you set your goals? What do you want to achieve? This is what differentiates dr mikes view and Jonathan’s view on a per person basis.
Hi, Bryan. The part of this video where you talk about being taken by surprise at how your interview with Doctor Mike went made me sad because I felt like your interview with him went GREAT. I had never heard of you before that interview, and I sat and watched the whole thing totally engrossed in your message & dedication. I don't always agree with Doctor Mike because even though he's a doctor, he still has biases like everyone else. I think sometimes he comes at these types of interviews with a lot of skepticism in his heart, and that's why he asks the kinds of questions he does. The interview went very well, though. I had a skeptical opinion of your mission in the first few minutes of the video that completely shifted once it became clear how intelligent, open minded, and dedicated to the truth you are. Now I'm proud to say I'm a huge fan of yours. Keep up the good work.
I compare how your face looked while dancing to how you looked in pictures from your "old" life. In your old life you looked tired, unhappy and, frankly, trapped. While you were dancing, you looked free and full of joy. If you can feel that good, why in heavens name would a person not want to extend that as long as possible???
Because "possible" isn't forever and so it will end one day. I like to feel good too, I'm old enough that I'm leaning more towards peace now. Feeling good is nice when it comes but I don't cling to it as much as I used to; it'll be harder to cope otherwise once it goes.

The part where he cut his shirt short was hilarious, what a goof ball! Would like to hear the story behind that decision.
Thank you. You add me a new awareness. ❤
Hey Bryon great vid! Can you do a video on what you have done to keep your vision young. Also I am very interested in what you think about the back of peoples hands as they age, it seems like a difficult thing to make young again. Thank you, keep it up
Bro why the T shirt cut 😂 oof
ikr bros like 50 but let him live. he was held down for decades by religion & business
@@Morgan-Zolko I don't care about age, it just looks so feminine
@@arnavrawat9864 What's wrong with that?
@@Swoahu I feel weird when I see a man dressed as a sexy girl, it's somewhat jarring. And I think Bryan probably follows the same norms as well, so it may be a concern for him too
@arnavrawat9864 I was confused by the t-shirt choice too. The t-shirt was not really a NYC club vibe. But if he liked and felt comfortable, that is all that matters.
Only 11 minutes??? This could have been an hour episode!
Whoever picks the music for these videos, I need the playlist please 😊
Awesome man! God bless!
wow great i think you should do daily dont die vlog
i am 17 and after watching this video i am readfy to give up all junk food and eat heathy .. and try to follow a protocol similar to yours thanks sir
Oh Bryan, I calculated that due to breaking the "don't die" protocol on this occasion, you lost approximately 2 hours 47.3 minutes of your life expectancy!
Don't Die is a celebration of life.
So cool you met at a climbing gym.
lol so rad
Love your videos!
