Wow, I have never related to a video this much before, especially as someone who's naturally talented and hasn't really had to study for exams, even in advanced classes. I went from advanced to online to advanced to normal and the constant switching was so taxing on my system. The beginning of my first semester of junior year were some of the worst months of my academic life, I didn't have As some of my classes and I even failed my highest weighted unit exam for the first time. I managed to pull my grades up in those classes by over 10% and even killed my math final. Now, I have A+s in all my classes and I'm slowly getting back on track to the level I know I can be at. Thanks for being an inspiration, especially for someone aiming for the same majors you applied for.
Learning HOW to study is really hard. Especially after COVID and online learning... I'll walk you through how I recovered and my secret, actionable strategies I used to get straight A's my first semester at Harvard as a STEM student. Leave a like, and let's lock in together.
I have been cheesing school before but now that I have way too much honors courses as a middle schooler so I am barely getting by. With this advice, I am sure that I will be succesful! Everyone lock in!
Heh, as a PhD student who isn't taking courses anymore, most of this isn't really relevant, except one thing - Notion. It greatly helps you be organised in undergrad, but isn't critical as the courses themselves are intrinsically structured. In contrast, for grad school it's absolutely critical since you have to make your own structure. I have Notion pages for everything - daily tasks, papers I've read, videos I've watched, programming tips, cool machine learning methods I picked up, etc. etc.
This relates a little more to the beginning of the video, but as someone who was also placed into summa in middle school, especially right after going back to in-person after covid, I think it was really helpful. Since it was so jarring being placed into curriculum that reached my limits and not being able to slack of at all, I struggled a bit at the start of the school year. Thankfully, after the second half of the year, it got me into the routine of studying, completing homework, and focusing in class. Which I think is similar to your story. (Though obviously it didn't matter much in middle school)
Thank you so much for this video, it was very helpful!! I've watched a lot of these videos but I have heard a lot of same things, so this was refreshing. I completely agree with the first tip to find the materials most helpful for that class and concentrate on that, I struggled in the beginning and didn't start doing that until towards the end of the semester last year, which removed so much stress. I will absolutely continue doing that moving forward.
Day 6 of asking for a detailed breakdown of your 3M project and how you found mentors. And independent research!! Great video Rishab! So inspirational and this will save my grades!
Hi Rishab, can you go over one of the mock exams and walk us through how you would approach the exam. I am already aware of the tips on the website but I don't know how to approach the multiple choice. I am very confused on mock exam 3 question 3 because the explanation doesn't make sense to me. (IRO)

You are teaching to ignore certain properties and elements in the material provided, granted that will work in getting a perfect score but that does not teach the ethics of innovation, many breakthroughs were solely due to small details that were hidden in plain sight that were once again, ignored.
Yeah yeah… all talk.. he has a 4.0 in Harvard university (most of which are near perfect scores) and plus he’s got his hands filled up with loads of projects, competition, and lots… He’s giving us premium technical on how to ace college exams.. tbh, no one needs to read unnecessary slides… 👍👍

Wait was that dude who took o-chem, Sahil Sood?
The secret studying strategy is to nag and whine at your professors until they agree to give you an A.
You are teaching to ignore certain properties and elements in the material provided, granted that will work in getting a perfect score but that does not teach the ethics of innovation, many breakthroughs were solely due to small details that were hidden in plain sight that were once again, ignored.
