I cant live without my Sirius radio. FM radio is horrible in my area and I hate fumbling with my phone trying to find something I want to listen to. Its the best thing I've ever spent money on for my truck. Another thing I love having is I got a pair of LED fog lights and installed them under my rear bumper. If you have tinted windows, they work great for backing up in the dark.

I absolutely agree on the Bilstein's. Tried a bunch of different ones over the years, didn't like the 5100's on my F350, but the HD's are great. As far as tires go, I only put BFG All-Terrain TA/KO2's on them now. Pretty quiet, nice ride, work great on-road, off-road, and in the snow for plowing! SYNC system in the newer trucks is not bad. Best aftermarket radios I've found are the Kenwood NAV radios. Pioneer's are ok, but I like the NAV on the Kenwood better. I take an inverter plus an LED shop light with a long cord when I travel as well. Costco has a nice little DeWalt 181-pc tool set in a low profile molded box for ~$100. Has most of what you would need for anything you can fix on the side of the road except for channel locks, good screw drivers, and a BIG HAMMER! Hahaha!!!

Bill, these are what I have started using as of last Summer, and I'm so Very Happy with these that I would never buy another brand of tire for my 1995 F350 Dually, and after I changed to these my truck is riding so Smoothly. And the other item I have been so very impressed with Toyo is they had two recalls, but not that there was a problem, but that they sent me a Notice right away!! And of the two they sent me only the first one, did they have to replace 2 of 6 tires. And the 2nd recall I think was just another notice of the first one I got. As was for the same problem. But this time I had none that needed replacing. Keep up the great work Toyo!!Toyo Open Country HT w/Tuff DutyThe Open Country H/T with Tuff Duty is engineered for high torque diesel pickup trucks that tow trailers or occasionally haul heavy loads. Three-belt construction, multi-wave sipes, and other enhancements deliver a long, dependable wear, increased tread mileage*, exceptional ride comfort, and balanced all-season performance. The Open Country H/T with Tuff Duty is also M&S rated.

LOL Benjamin! The nitrogen filled tires is such a scam.

    • @abelwrate4330
      @abelwrate4330 6 років тому +1

I have been using Nitrogen in my tires, especially in hot or cold climates, because the amount of air loss is substantial. Our military aircraft use nitrogen due to the high heat created during landing and ours was 99.9% Nitrogen. When I lived in AZ I would have to put air in my tires almost on a weekly basis due to the heat difference. When I switched to Nitrogen I was able to check the tires when I fueled up or during regular Honda dealership maintenance. My 2008 F450 Dually is all Nitrogen and my tires rarely loose pressure in OR.

First, and please make videos about f450 and f550 read diffs and make a video describing injector faults and why you dont buy them from rebuilders (OEM only)
Also, a question. Why is it that International 6.0 motors run ELC coolant, yet Ford is adamant we use their Gold standard?
Thank you in advance, and keep up the videos. You have done many people alot of good.

Bill, we realize the 6.0 and 6.4 keeps you busy but why not talk about the 7.3? It's been about 13 years since the last 7.3 Powerstroke rolled off the line. Still plenty of them out there and a great alternative to forking over $70k+ for a new 6.7. The asking prices for a low-mileage 99-03 are high for their age but low compared to newer models. 7.3s, in time, may be what the classic Mustangs and such are now - highly sought after and high-priced. And hey, you can let everyone know that if brought to you, the potential for another 500k mi isn't out of the question. Get the 7.3 owners to you, bud. I'm on my second one and my kids will be the ones to sell it or keep it because I'll die owning my 7.3.

Hey man, I have a '01 F250 7.3 with around 180k miles. I've been looking into some small upgrades to make her run a bit smoother and cleaner. I'm chipped, k&n "cold air" system, and 4" turbo back exhaust. Do you think the radiator filter is worth the buck? My coolant looks clean and the truck runs cool as a cucumber. I haven't seen many claims to fame with them, but also see them on most of the diesel tech's trucks. If you've got a minute, let me know your take on the radiator coolant filter systems generally. Thanks for the videos!

+powerstrokehelp thank you. I do have one question on my truck the previous owner kept it stock other than installing a K&N air filter the thing I do notice is that the filter is exposed in the engine compartment except for what looks like what best can be described as an L shaped mounting/dividing wall and it seems that with the hood closed it would somewhat reduce or cut off the filters exposure to the "hot side" are these set ups okay or should I put one that actually seals itself off in its own air box assembly?

+powerstrokehelp Bill, I now own two 7.3 powerstrokes (96 F-350 and 2002 Excurison). Love the fuel/toolbox combination. Thinking I may add that to my F-350. However, in the interest of building a tool kit and for travel purposes in either truck, do you have a list of most commonly used tools I should carry for roadside/trail side repairs? Recommended spare parts list (beyond the obvious coolant cap and ICP and CP sensors)? It’s not like I can just take a Walmart 99-piece ratchet and combo wrench set like I can for my wife’s minivan and be able to make 75% of the repairs. These are big heavy tools. Also, where can I get a copy of your checklists for maintenance? You talk about them on your website, but I can’t find them. I’m willing to pay for these lists. Your knowledge is worth a few a bucks.

Good video as always although I have to disagree with your comments that the nitrogen in your tires makes your truck ride better. Nitrogens benefit is that the tire is less likely to experience inflation variations due to temperature . I think the improved ride (or glide) might be a figment of your imagination.

00 cables yes, I jumped a 6.0 with a bad alternator, with a V10 excursion, he said no way that will work, I chuckled, not with your cables! Mine are welding wire, more conductors per gauge. My optima yellow top saved a tow bill on a plow truck at 9:45 at night, also put an alternator on said truck at 10:00 in oreilly parts parking lot and my buddy was out of service for under an hour! On a snowy night! Fun!

I take issue with your recommendation of HID lighting. HID lights in a normal housing scatter too much light and produce too much glare. I've shown this to people locally by taking them out to overpasses and parking underneath on a dark night. From above, I've shown them the different patterns and it can be dramatic. There is also the issue of legality of using HID bulbs in a non-HID enclosure.

If you miss a siren and dont pull over because you didnt hear it.... they might thread you out a vent window (not an option on cars nowdays, but they will make one). If you get in an accident while wearing headphones, you are screwed. Ive seen too much carnage from all the gadgets. Drive safe.

Nitrogen wont make any difference in the ride, What it will do is not expand/contract with ambient tire temperatures. Think 90 in summer and -20 in winter, tire pressures can vary significantly with temps.

    • @akbychoice

xenon blubs are not made for stock halogen reflector. you got a very nice shop. why not retrofit the headlight housing to a bi or standard xenon projectors. you will not blind other drivers and it will be 100% better than stock
