Productivity isn't about working harder, it's about working smarter.
In this video, I'll be sharing five strategies to help you get more done in less time.
Whether you're a busy CEO or just trying to balance work and family, these tips will help you increase your productivity by 10x.
I want to do something a bit different today, just for fun.
It’s a little “experiment” that will make you 4-10x more productive overnight.
    And it takes 60 seconds.
    Ready?
    OK.
First, count from 1-26 out loud and time how long it takes.
    Took me about 8 seconds.
    Now, recite the alphabet, A-Z.
    Done?
That time it took me about 6 seconds.
    Now, let’s try “multitasking”.
The myth is that doing two or three things at once saves time.
Some folks even pride themselves on being able to “multitask.”
    So, let’s try it.
This time, do the same thing, except start with “A” and then switch to numbers, alternating each one until you finish…
Like this: A, 1, B, 2, C, 3, and so on until you finish the alphabet.
    Ready?
    I’ll start the timer:
    GO!
How long did it take you?
    Took me 60 seconds.
    You?
    So….
It takes 14 seconds to do both of them separately…
And 60 seconds to do both at the same time.
It took me 4X LONGER when I multitasked.
    Why does this happen?
It takes more cognitive overhead (brain power) to switch back and forth between two different tasks.
The first thing I have my coaching students do to free up more time in their day is to “time block” similar tasks.
They IMMEDIATELY start getting more done in the same amount of time.
“Time Blocking” is one of the strategies I use to “manufacture time” in my day, week, and life.
    Here are the other three:

These 4 “Time Manufacturing” strategies have taken me 25 years of testing and iterating to figure these out.
    They are:
Live by DESIGN, not by Default.
    Package Up the Details
    Block Your Time
    Theme Your Days
    I explain them all here.

I've been in business since 2001. I've read hundreds of books on business. In my opinion, Buy Back Your Time is the best, most actionable, most practical and most straightforward book on business I have read. I own it in hard copy and on audible. I also had the pleasure of being on a Zoom call where Dan was our guest speaker and he delivered more value per minute than anyone I've heard speak!

Awesome stuff as usual, Dan. I'm starting to put the stuff you've taught me into practice. I'm recording myself and my team doing things so we don't have to teach it over and over. I've been shedding tasks that eat my energy and time and focusing on keeping the things that build me up even if they look like a waste of time for me to be doing. I'm not actually the owner of my business. I am the team lead. I'm adapting the things you've taught me to work in this environment where more time doesn't necessarily lead to more money for me, but it definitely leads to less stress.
Next step is doing what this video teaches. I realize (by design) I've been very unintentional with my calendar to allow for my team to get me whenever they need me. I feel like it's important to be a servant leader but I'm also trying real hard not to be the doormat leader. I think being more intentional with my time will help that.
One thing I've started doing on my calendar that you didn't mention is scheduling breaks. Maybe, as you go through the buy back look you need this less, but a full day of meetings every day, for me as an introvert, leaves me with no energy for my family. I've become judicious with my meetings and schedule in at least half an hour to not be in a meeting (it was supposed to be I don't work, but it's actually become catching up on email).
Typing all this out makes me realize I still have a ton of work to do.
Thanks so much for all the awesome knowledge you've passed on. It's working for me. I guess I have to go buy the audio book now if there's extra stuff in there the hard cover didn't have!

I am reading your book and each chapter is changing my mindset and I am implementing as I read. This book has given me sanity as I was at my painline 😅. You are literally reading my mind throughout the book and giving me solutions. I have a goal of 10x my company in 1-2 years 7figure to 8figures as well as do charity work. With this book I am well equipped to scale🙌🏽🙌🏽. Best book I have read and it came at a perfect time. Thank you Dan !
    So far:
Hired my mother in law - to help with my young kids two days week.
Reached out to a recruitment agency to find me administrative assistant.
If there are any live calls you have, I would love to listen in🙌🏽

I just saw the original golf ball, pebble, and sand video on Instagram or something else then open UA-cam to have this video suggested to me where he talks about the same thing. Wow, the algorithms are working hard

Are there any templates and actionable things that you assist with as well? I’m sold on the concept. I’ve been sold for some time. But still have to make the time to do the step by step integration. Can someone assist?

Nope. Just also know ToDo list can lack energy focus and outcomes.
