Fastest I had was my most recent at about 5 minutes, longest was around 6 hours and that was my first but the place was also super busy (also spring 2020 so half the country was buying one). On average i'd say they have taken around 30 minutes from the moment I start the paperwork to the moment the FFL got the response.
The background check is very much like the check done by police if they pull you over for a traffic offense. It is merely a search of your criminal record which is already compiled. There is no reason for it to take longer than 5 minutes. Even if given weeks to do it, the BC is not going to get any better. The FBI is NOT going to dispatch a geek squad to talk to your friends and neighbors.
I worked for sportsmans for a year (not a great place ngl), but the average to the 1300’ish firearm sales i had where right around 8/9 minutes. Many where instants because of ID enhanced CCW (by-passes NICS background as a more indepth check is required for the CCW), only time I ever had issues was straw purchases from WA and delayes because of foreigner visa issues - where they are permanent residents but tries buying a gun day one of being a citizen (normally on a weekend). But 98% was always instant. Other than veterans, the most pain in the arse customer “hurr durr i volunteered what do you mean i only get 5% off” or in one instance a guy was delayed for 3weeks by the FBI NICS system, and proceeded to yell at me for oppressing him of his rights - I have no power to do the brady bill as its against the rules (and is the right of the company to refuse to do it) due to recent shootings thar allowed said incidents to happen because of brady bill pushes. Wished more people realized about how indepth the background process is. Had some anti-2a girls tryna “prove” how easy it is to get one, they failed. Later LEO showed up for the form for evidence as one of the three were a felon and lying on the form was (guessing) getting tacked onto her charge(s).

That's not how that works at all lol
If only background checks we're that quick!!
They are, its pretty much instant... unless there's an issue, sometime it takes longer.
Fastest I had was my most recent at about 5 minutes, longest was around 6 hours and that was my first but the place was also super busy (also spring 2020 so half the country was buying one). On average i'd say they have taken around 30 minutes from the moment I start the paperwork to the moment the FFL got the response.
Imagine buying guns through background checks lmao. All my niggas buy their guns from the black market.
Homer's "yeah" is the same as The Joker's when asked if could steal and walk away .
Just like nuclear power, the Simpsons doesnt know anything about guns
And that, kids, is the difference between Hollywood and real life.
It's not tho, not really
You still have lax gun laws, this is taking it to the comedic extremely
Because its a joke
@datcheesecakeboi6745
If this background check was actually real he would have been denied automatically. Gun laws are not lax
@@datcheesecakeboi6745 so youre slow and know nothing about gun laws LMAOOOO
@@kronostvx I'm not slow, the UK has strict gun laws, not the US
@@IG10705 yes they are lax tho, why do so many criminals get there hands on guns? Also before you bring up a city with strict gun laws and high gun crime... thats because the criminal goes out of the city to get it
If the US gun laws are strict then what does that make UK gun laws?
UA-cam gave me this video immediately after I read article about a Florida man shooting a pool cleaner who he mistook for an intruder.
any of those things would get you denied in 10 minutes
Yeah, this isn’t how buying a gun works. The Simpsons might predict the future, but it doesn’t understand law.
Dear America,
Please stop getting your knowledge of guns and gun laws from the Simpsons.
Democrats and liberals be like
To be fair to the liberals, I'm pretty sure most liberals have trouble thinking further than 2 feet infront of themselves.
It’s satire bro. It’s a commentary on the type of people who go buy guns. Before you jump down my throat, consider the fact there are responsible gun owners but clearly there are not too. Like people shooting their family members or road raging. The Simpsons are commenting on how background checks don’t really work stopping dumb people from having guns.
How anti gunners think gun shops work…
According to the comment with 18k likes...
Yes this is exactly how it works.
Were not anti gun. Were anti loosely regulated firearms.
That former president joke tho. 😅
The bit right before this scene is one of the best jokes in the entire series.
And a bunch of people are gonna laugh and say this is how gun sales work and the fact is, he wouldn't have been approved for any firearms
100% alot of viewers think this is how it works shows the world how stupid Americans are shame

The only thing you could MAYBE argue is remotely humorous about this, in a subjective way, is how asinine and unbelievable it is, and the fact that he’s given the gun anyways, making it funny because we all know it’s horrible practice and would never happen with any FFL.

Yea any one of those three would immediately disqualify you.

He beat up George H. Bush in the sewers of Springfield. He later beat up George W. Bush in a picture but not the entire episode.
The joke rewrote itself years later about the easy accessibility to obtain guns in America in select states. Florida being one of them.
Yeah, in the US, we actually have way more restrictions but a lot of people think you could just buy guns at grocery stores. Dang I wish I could do that though, but anyway, the background check system you have to be convicted of a crime in order for it to reject you, but potentially dangerous it depends on which state you live in, could prevent you, or limit you to certain types of guns, or have a limit on how many you can own but a lot of state say if you’re potentially dangerous but you’re not convicted, you can only on 22s to 9 mms which are low caliber firearms
Huh?
This episode is so old that there wasn't any need to clarify which Bush they were talking about, it would be almost 4 years until the dubya was sworn in

The stocks are the grips
What you are thinking of as the grip is the mag

Thats the magazine. Not all rifles have a pistol style grip, especially the older types
