Lovely to see you here tonight Michael ( well it’s the late evening in the Lake District, England) I had thought it’s this weekend we will hopefully get your catch up. Love the shopping bag. Very impressed with your socks. I am knitting the Stephen West SSAL. It’s the very first sock I have knit and I feel I am going to frame it once it is finished🤭so to knit two socks at once is beyond impressive👏. Yes please show us how you start to do this. So great to see you Michael! The bag looks wonderful and useful. Really like the yellow for the “overlapped” colors. I, too, do socks and sleeves 2 at a time though on 2 needles rather than magic loop. I pin them together on one edge to avoid knitting back on one sock and getting the rows out of sync. Looking forward to your tutorial. 🧦🕺🏼💕

Your striped socks (beautiful, by the way) reminded me of the sweater I want to knit. I had done a Turn-A-Square beanie for my son where I played around with the pattern and used five colors for the striping. I loved the whole color combination, I want to make a sweater. Hats are a really good way to test out a sweater idea. So, I'm going to test out more ideas! Good to see you today. Keep cool there. ❤

I can't wait to see your new socks worked up.. I hope you have an amazing week! I used to sew all the time wih my Grandmother. She was a Seamstress for many years here in Texas. Yes, for two-at-a-time, toe-up socks along with two at a time sleeves. I have been in that same camp for over 15 years. If you want to do patterns in your socks, you may have to adapt top-down sock patterns for toe-up.

You kept saying, "Let's Talk about..." and I kept hearing Salt and Pepa, so now I need to listen to them. I was just getting married when it came out. I'm glad to hear Fibre Punk again. I've only bought one skein from him, but loved it!
Yes for the Salt N Pepa!! Fibre Punk has such wonderful yarn. I’m always so please whenever I get to use some of his yarn.

You could always spin up the white n barber pole ply it with a crazy color braid. Make it zebra! Love the berry basket matchy matchy socks!

I used Knit Picks Palette for the Foxpaws. Very challenging shawl or scarf of stacked stitches that uses a bunch of different colors and might work with your gift! Love that new Les Garcons sample shawl- put it on my q thanks!
I’ve knit socks 2 at a time but I’m having difficulty visualizing how to start sleeves 2 at a time. A video would be great! Thanks for another great episode 😊
I feel like I just watched a minute ago too! Where does the time go? The heat and humidity have been brutal too. Great tote bag, well done. I do think a video on how you do the two at a time at once video will be helpful. The socks are so pretty! Next week is going to be wonderful. The New York City Ballet is at Saratoga Performing Arts!!! Swan Lake and Firebird plus others of course. Those stand out without looking at the calendar. Two questions. Have you ever gone to a NYC Ballet performance? I don't understand how there would be a difference in gauge between metal and wood if the two are the same size? That's a puzzle to me! Thank you. Good thing time goes fast.....always enjoy chatting with you!

Yes, I’ve seen NYCB a few times. They are always fun to watch. The difference between the wood and metal needles is that with wood needles, they tend to have a bit more grip to them and can cause things to be a little tighter. The slickness of the metal tends flip make things a little looser.
I’ll for sure wear the shawl once it’s done. I love styling shawls. Can’t wait to show you. ☺️

🤚for the two-at-a-time tutorials. Since I learned magic loop and fish lips kiss heel, I'm making socks like a woman possessed, so I'd LOVE to know how to make them two at a time (without tangling myself in yarn)! Thank you!!

How fun! I teach mostly ballet but also do jazz modern/contemporary.
I feel the same way about self-striping yarn, but if you want some solid color socks, try Stephen West’s Dustland Sock pattern - it’s so much fun and goes quickly as the pattern changes. Right now I am doing Stephen’s Surprise Sock Along - so far it’s another fun pattern.

Great, inspiring episode as always! On a related note, since you mentioned the pronunciation of "mulesing," I looked up what it meant because I didn't know what it meant, and now I'm thoroughly depressed 😢. Since most merino wool doesn't say 'non-mulesed,' does that mean I need to give up merino if I don't want to support mulesing? My initial research suggested that it's only Australia that does this, but this is where 70% of merino comes from :(.

What toe up sock pattern do you use?
I don’t use a pattern. I cast on with a Turkish cast on 14 stitches, then increase to 68. I go until the yarn almost runs out and then add an afterthought heel.

Hey Hey! I’m still around life has been very busy and most of it has been unexpected. I was really hopping to hang with everyone this weekend but feel ill this week. I’m super bummed. Hopping to be back soon enough. Once I’m feeling better. ☺️✌🏽
