Enjoyed watching, thanks. I was always under the impression that the potatoes in cottage pie should resemble the 'roof of a cottage' and should be resting on the meat mixture in layers. Mashed potato on the other hand should be used in Shepherd's pie resembling 'the coat of a sheep'.
Interesting...never heard of that before, but we can see the logic in it. Thank you for watching and for your informative comment. We hope you enjoy our other videos and have fun with our channel!
We added Parmesan because it's easier to find here than Cheddar Nick. Kate does say that she would use Cheddar if she was making this back in England. Thanks for your comments and for watching this video....hope you have fun with the others!
Well Steve...Tracey's dreaded peas were kept totally separate, so she'd have been alright!! Thanks for watching...and sorry for shocking Tracey at the end!
Point taken...but it's how Kate makes her cottage pie and we can personally vouch for how delicious that is. The red wine does add a depth of flavour...and we do say/write that it's optional. Thank you for watching and commenting though and we hope you're enjoying our other videos.
This is my favourite English dish
Pure comfort food isn't it Xristina? One of the dishes to look forward to in the winter months for sure. Thanks for your lovely comment xx
Wonderful, my mouth is watering. I can just imagine what it would taste like. Put it on the list 😂😂
Will do George...your list is getting longer by the week! You'll have to stay for a month at this rate! Thanks for watching and your lovely comment.
Just found you by chance - now a sub ! That looks gorgeous 🙂
Thank you Michael, for joining our channel , where abouts are you watching from? Warmest regards Lakis, Diana & Alex

The red wine is certainly not traditional.
