Lego should stop laughing at castle fans and just bring back the theme with sets of 20, 50, 100, 150... In every price range instead of all the expansive stuff!
i have the black falcon mountain fortress, lion knights castle, medival town square, and barad dur. the forest stronghold is going to look INCREDIBLE and look right at home with them. i am so beyond happy with the castles that have been releasing. cant wait to pre order!
@@john7m7usa I'm actually fine with it being forestmen as they seem to be inhabiting an old fort which is something they would do. I just with there was some more variety on the figs like add some capes or different bows to give it more variety or even have some with beards or hairpieces instead of just the hats.
100%. It looks too well maintained for what I would expect of a forestmen set. They are about camoflaug and low-key. I also don't like the open back doll house concept.
@@bz6046 I think that was the original idea but it wasn't executed well imo. The castles look way too maintained. I think the designer should have added much more green and build the castle in partial ruins to fit the theme.
Did you know in studies it's been proven the frequent use of profanity normally betrays a not only a lack of vocabulary in the individual but an approximate 30 less on the I.Q scale? 😊 Might be to time some of that thar lurnins lika in da big books eh dumbo🥰
You are right about the forestmen set, it is a bit different from the other medieval ones, and yes, also due to the fact that there are a LOT of forestmens in it.
The forestmen lego ideas set Forest Base. Looks 100x better than the trash here. Just because it has a castle theme doesn't mean it is worthy of purchase. The harbourmaster set is amazing though.
I'm only ordering the camper this time. I collect castle but this castle set just doesn't do it for me. I'll save my money for series 4 where I'll be buying 3 of those sets.
Not really it's a totally different aesthetic than Rivendell. It would not fit in with Rivendell in my opinion, the colors are off and the architecture is not open and elven like.
It very well might! I know the Christmas village sets are very popular and this kind of falls in that line. I guess we will see soon what everyone wants.
Harbor Office and Camping Adventure are fantastic, Forest Stronghold is really good but also wish the back was not exposed. IMO the Lost City is the weakest BDP set we have seen yet. Conceptually cool but there is no story, no easter eggs, few minifigs, and generally boring colors. It is basically a Walmart version of Rivendell.
I think previous runs have massively been hoovered up by investors more than anyone else. But the season 1 sets that are out are not reselling too well. (Because so many of the people that bought them were investors) At the same time Lego are raising prices so it's easy to see at some point we'll see some of these sets really start to struggle as the investors are not making the big returns that they hoped for and this WILL affect demand.
I agree. Prices are not jumping up on the secondary market like they used to with previous rounds. It’ll be interesting to see how everything plays out.
Great stuff. Thanks for the info. I haven't bought many of these Designer program stuff before. How fast do they usually sell out? Should I be on it as soon as it is up for sale?
I think I'm skipping the Forestmen one - I don't really like the bridge separating the two portions, and the whole thing feels just a bit too 'settled' and obvious for the traditionally-sneaky Forestmen. The entire point of the original line was that these guys were hiding in a bunch of woodland ruins - not holding down their own fortress. They were brigands and bandits - a ragtag group. Not a military rival to the major factions. The building just screams "siege me." And given how weak it is (no curtain wall or anything), it wouldn't be a long one. I have a sneaking suspicion that the Lost City might not even clear crowdfunding - I have absolutely no idea how that design got through; it's a lazy effort with few minifigures and almost no play features. It doesn't even look like the kind of ruin you'd expect to find in a jungle in, say, southeastern Asia or Central America or something... it's more like a church than a temple.
It's not like they built the fort. The forestmen, as you said, hole up in woodland ruins which this fort clearly is. They're opportunists and as long as they aren't actively trying to conquer the falcons or lion knights or whoever else, I feel like they wouldn't be bothered here. I think it fits them quite well and am 100% gonna get this set. I agree with you on the lost city. It looks so bland. 2 basic minifigs is actually insane for $300.
@@williaml7390 I guess if we're going to deep-dive on the Forestment thing: the whole point of the original line in the 80s and 90s was concealment - these guys were hiding. When you occupy a fortress (which appears to be in very good shape), that's no longer hiding. I mean, it's clearly a thing, and I'm not discouraging people from buying it. All I am saying is: that's no tree house, or a hollowed-out stump or something - it's a castle.
I am going to offer a different viewpoint. I am glad the Lost City is available to purchase. As an adult this set is calming, is a sanctuary type serene display. There are no warring factions or weapons. I appreciate all the green and the beautiful mirror pool!
I can see the at your saying about it not being the typical ruins. I guess the concept the designer was going for was that this was just an abandon castle/fort that was left and the forestmen found it.
Looks to be as though the forestmen stronghold was an ex black falcon castle taken over and the forestmen let nature take over the castle as a sort of camouflage
i just really think the forrest man figuire are so ugly could have went with a darker green or more ragged clothes would have made them look so much better now they look like cheap knock off to me.
The designer can only use what the palette on studio offers. Now if Lego decides to change up the figures themselves on the final adjustments remains to be seen but I highly doubt they will. The Designers only can use the elements that are on studio at that time so that's what forestmen had for figures.
Which ones are you buying?
The cheapest one
@@bobbyc912 nice! I’ll be grabbing the Camping set myself.
How do you go about purchasing them never done it. I have a Bricklink account?

Forest Stronghold because I love Lego Castle but deep down I think The Art of Chocolate is the winner here. It's just straight magical!
I think what defines forest man is how their live embed into the nature. A bit too much/ high profile "castle" elements for them in this set.
Good point! Maybe this set could be modified slightly to add more foliage.
I agree, actually. It’s more castle than forest men.

The forestmen are basically the fucking same - 7 MINIFIGURES - 300$
Woah woah woah no need for swear words, but your are kind of right.
Both forestmen and black falcons are readily available on PAB. This weird trend to buy (or recommend) huge expensive sets for some figures is so bad.

1.Forest Stronghold 2.Chocolate Store 3.Camper Set 4.Harbour Office 5. Temple Ruin. for me.
Nice! I think a lot of people will have Forest Stronghold at #1.
HabourMaster Office, Forest Stronghold and Camping Adventure.
3 really cool looking sets!
Still have not decided about the Lost city, but definitely getting 2 of all others.

The Prices are jokes
I’m with you. They are high for a non official LEGO set but they are a little better than past rounds.
Put in that overtime😁
@@TheBrickQuest how is it non official lego set if it has the logo and proper lego item code???
Seriously, the camper should be $39.99 at most, not $54.99
ngl, the price to piece ratio and custom designs seem somewhat fairly priced imo, especially when you see official lego sets with a worse ratio
How does one preorder one of these sets once their up???
It's a good job they haven't been released yet... the word Harbourmaster is printed incorrectly, it is missing the letter 'u'.
I’d didn’t see that. I think that may be a difference in spelling depending if you live in the UK or US.
@@TheBrickQuest I was pulling your leg.. UK English spelling has it as Harbour. 👍

What's up with the piece count of the first two sets (shown on screen vs. mentioned by you)?
The lost city could be used for a rivendell expansion
Not really it's a totally different aesthetic than Rivendell. It would not fit in with Rivendell in my opinion, the colors are off and the architecture is not open and elven like.
That’s a possibility. I guess it all depends on the look you are going for in your city or collection.
The lost city is beautiful,
Yes it is! Very different/interesting set.
I'd be shocked if the Art of Chocolate isn't one of the first sets to sell out.

The Art ofChocolate and the Camping Adventure….the Harbor Master Office is a maybe to go with my Old Fishing Store.
