Sometimes fear of heights is like that. I have no problem being in a plane because it feels secure, but if I'm in something like a ski lift, it is not a fun experience.
@@matthewmuir8884 I'm the same. I've no problem looking out at the ground from a plane a few miles up, or looking over the edge from the top of a skyscraper. Glass floors with a few hundred feet drop below don't bother me. Give me what I feel is a secure place to stand and I'm fine. The platforms that window cleaners on skyscrapers work from, for example, look terrifying though.

@@aircommandslipperz it’s different, I studied aerospace engineering and perfectly comfortable with flying. But I am still afraid of height because I am not in an airplane all the time.
@@AaronShenghao That makes no sense. I'm not afraid of heights, I'm afraid of falling, as most people supposedly afraid of heights are. As long as there is something to keep me from falling, I love being up high. Being in a flying vessel would mean if something goes wrong, there's nothing beneath me to keep me from falling if the vessel falls. So I would be far more afraid of heights in something that flies than in or on something that doesn't.
Here is the problem with watching Hammond, May, and Clarkson... they are so good at entertaining and talking automotive that it sets the bar incredibly high for any other broadcasters. That means... since no other show compares to these guys, we need more content more often!
Don't know, I used to be a pilot too, till they took my medical, and I have a fear of heights too, only of heights, not of altitudes, whatever the difference is!
Fear of heights can be like that. I myself have no problem being in a plane (I'm not a pilot, but still), but I do have a problem when in something like a ski lift.

I could see the generator fail coming but I am still grinning and laughing my butt off ! 😂 I would not be afraid of falling out of the dune buggy because the seat would be puckered halfway up my butthole. 🤣🇺🇲👍🏻
Hammond: why can't I go next? Clarkson (offscreen, probably): because I said so. Also Clarkson: there's nothing we can do. Its hopeless. May: we can have a beer. 🤣
That was absolutely terrifying!! I'm with Hammonds thinking, the well it's been tested so works but also they've potentially weakened the system 😮🤣 Mr Logic too drunk to think, brilliant 😮🤣
"I thought Hammond was going to say BUGGER!"😁I always wanted to ask how the kids feel after seeing their Dads doing these kind of silly and cool stuffs, having a chill beer at the other end after 2 decades?🙃
That was the real Jeremy Clarkson, first I know it was him, you can see his features, but also Andy Wilman the producer was asked about this very scene in an interview, and Andy confirmed it was 100% real, they did cross over themselves. However he did point out, there were teams of medics and technical support behind the cameras, and also the wires used were very strong, tested and actually tried out by production team members before the trio did their journey on them. The trio said they would only do the journey, if three members of the team did it before them, including Mr Wilman, who called it the most horrible ride of his life.
I know the secret of their success...and no it is not watching 3 drunks driving about waiting for a mishap. A reason exists which makes this successful. It is in fact the 3 stooges made over. I finally figured this out one day when they sent James to the bottom of the ocean in a 1920s diving suit. A plagiarizing event. Loved it.
Well the Odds were against Richard, those dodgy 3rd world looking generators were bound to fail after an extended run so whom ever came last was going to have moments of discomfort and Hammond drew the short straw :-) Probably a dodgy low oil protection shutoff lol
I know that you are shooting something in Poland and I hear that you started from the northern side of the country, I invite you to the south to the mecca of car rallies in Lower Silesia, and specifically to the special stage in Zagorze Śląskie, there is a beautiful setting mountains and historical strongholds will certainly be something to mention in the context of history. It is worth showing these places related to motorsport, such as Wałbrzych (one of the most beautiful and at the same time the most difficult stages in the Polish and European Rally Championship) and its surroundings, as well as Świdnice (elmot rally) and Wrocław (e.g. the SS around D.H. Astra in the middle of the city)
Would you trust their cable car line? 🤔
Not really
Of course, she’ll be right
Seeing what happened to Hamster, NO.
Yes
i don't see why not. it looks 100% safe
James offering Clarkson a beer is pure wholesome!
That’s a true mate right there.
#FriendshipGoals
sir
And proceeds to drink Clarkson's beer
I like how James always has to go first (Namibia, Burma, Scotland, etc.)
Because Jeremy said so.
And because Hammond did hear him say it.
:-D
That's because he would fall the slowest out of the three.
@@Naeidea lol yes he would fall very slow and no risk to injury lol
Well... there's the guinea pig, the hamster and the tubby one with almost enough height to carry it off, quite simple really.
Probably a seniority thing. James was the last to join the trio
For someone with a genuine fear of heights, I have a lot of respect for James in doing this.

Height and water 😅
He's a licensed pilot.
