Make sure you use Adobe RGB for your color profile for editing otherwise sRGB will give you banding and posterization. Adobe RGB contains millions of tonal values while sRGB only contains thousands of tonal values. Less tonal values means it’s easier to have tonal separation or banding. sRGB should only be used for export for viewing online or sharing JPEGs since that is the standard for viewing on the internet. My friend has a good story about being excepted into the Smithsonian with a photo but then they rejected it because he was editing using sRGB. The banding was so bad they couldn’t make a large print.
