Tim reeve has a great video on how to do this. You gotta keep the body screws a little loose so you can slide the blade back in easier, take the lock bar tension off with your thumb, slide the blade in, then tighten everything. It goes real easy that way.

Same here man! I just ordered my first Sebenza today and now I'm watching a playlist I put together months age containing over 30 Sebenza videos from youtube. I'm officially crazy :-D
Edit: Holy cow I just realised my Sebenza playlist has exactly 31 videos in it. Like the name of the knife! And that wasn't intentional! I CAN'T WAIT TO GET THE KNIFE!!!

I always build mine up from the lock side to the show side, never one issue in my 10yrs of owning many CRK’s. Don’t know what the others do wrong to damage such a simple design.. 🤷🏽‍♂️

    • @sinjon

I have taken mine apart 4 times now using the sandwich method and never had a problem. If you put the washers down over the pivot bushing and not put the bushing down onto the small washer, you shouldn’t have a problem since the bushing aligns everything.

Great video! Is it me (must be) but has knife quality deteriorated? I only have Hinderer and Chris Reeve - (7 Reeve, 4 Hinderer). The last two Hinderer and the last 3 Chris Reeve all arrived with off center blades - a huge pet peeve of mine! I am currently awaiting word from Chris Reeve on what to do with my new large 31 - maybe the tolerances are so good that some grease under the washer is throwing it off? In any event I asked CRK how 3 recent knives can all have off center blades and how should I proceed - we will see!

Two different size washers is uneven strength which means your pushing the blade in one direction. I'm an Offset Printer by trade and i've never seen two different size bearings or anthing like this. All wheels i've ever seen on a motorcycle have even bearings. The Sebenza 25 has even washers and the handle is bolted down solid in to places, the Inkosi is only bolted solid at the rear of the knife. This 31 is just like the 25 except the uneven stupid washer set up. No way Harley could put two different size bearings in there wheels and not get called out on it. Stupid Yupies that have never worked a day in there life buy these knives which is fine except these designs are retarded. Bolt the handle down evenly and give us even size washers. The 21 and 25 have solid designs, the 25 is solid and has the ceramic ball which is awesome. If you can get some even round washers the same thickness as the eneven washers for the 31 it would be ready to go. I'm also a Personal Trainer by trade. I've studied Biomechanics, i worked repairing watches and i've also built motorcycles frome the frame up. This 31 is better then that stupid "floating" stop pin set up but still this is not how to build things. Chris reeve tolerances and manufacturing maybe let them get away with these non sense designs but it's still wrong and bothers me. Yupie's that have never worked a day in there life and have never used their brain to build something and if they have they havnt done it at a professional level like a Machinist or a Printer or a Carpenter would are the only one's that are going to go along with this. I may pull the trigger on a 31 one though because other then uneven washers it's pretty sweet.

It’s aChris Reeves knife, you must use the most expensive alcohol you can find. What kind of knife nerd would go cheap on something like alcohol? I want the $100 a quart stuff to clean my knives! 😏

Man, I wanna have a conversation with you about anything you seem like a cool guy to talk to and probably have some funny stories to tell sitting around a fire.
