I discovered this "fabtastic" vocalist after her passing. What a singer. Great album w/ Scott Hamilton , Warren Vache, andJack Sheldon- she was truly a one and only who is greatly missed,
Her nephew George said she was the strongest person he's known. It's that's fundamental strength that allowed her to perform fully relaxed and totally living in the moment. Start to finish she was such a great talent and entertainer! And, who could forget the voice in all its broad emotional colors-amazing and lovely...
There’s no one better, especially for gliding right into whatever decade or genre she’d like…. Slow, fast, jazz, standards…. Her version of “The Way We Were” still makes me get emotional. Lovely person too.
So Happy to Find this Treasure - ~ Rosie ~ Truly was One Class Act - I can't believe to hear someone else use the word Sheer - She makes me So Proud to be a Clooney also ~
Many years ago I heard Rosemary Clooney sing "Tenderly" as part of her "Four Girls Four" act set. That was at the Music Circus musical theater tent in downtown Sacramento, California in the heat of Summer.
Thanks so much for uploading this. It is always such a joy to see her perform live in front of an audience and with a great band. Her voice was something else. She was one of a kind.
Thanks for this performance. Just perfect. I have always loved her music and performance. Thank you! She does these musicians proud. What a group I could only dream of working with folks like these. Hey she was the best. I"ve been around for a while and to see and hear music like this live just wonderful! Thanks .
Thank you so much for this beautiful concert. It's a class act. I love her album "With Love" very much. Most of the tracks on this album are ballads. I think that her rendition of The Way We Were (51:56) on this live performance as a closing song and on her album is absolutely exquisite. The soulful sound of Scott Hamilton's tenor sax makes the song even more sumptuous and romantic. I love the way Rosemary caresses the lyrics with her voice and of course, the arrangements and phrasing are as always flawless. She is a true consummate artist and storyteller.
I remember watching a Rosemary Clooney concert on PBS when I was in my teens. She did “Just the Way You Are,” and she sang a line I’d never heard before. Then, afterwards, she told the audience that she’d suddenly forgotten the lyric and just made something up. How quick she was! That was the unfamiliar line! I always thought that was such a fun thing to happen, and I’ve never forgotten it. I notice that song is on the list, and I’m just gonna wait and see if this is that concert I saw so long ago. EDIT: YES! This is that same concert. I even remembered some of the made-up lyrics. Awww...how nice.

You'll be pleasantly surprised to learn this IS that concert!
What lyrics did she make up? I don't know them perfectly - she must have done it so smoothly I couldn't tell! Great concert!
Randall - I give you a thumbs up for this - a man after my own heart.
