Richard Wagner / Lorin Maazel: Der Ring ohne Worte - Querschnitt aus dem Ringzyklus
Hochschulorchester der HMT-Rostock, Leitung: Christfried Göckeritz
Ton & Regie: Carsten Storm, Kameras: Jakob Wagler
How many decades or even centuries does mankind have to wait to create another genius like Richard Wagner. I am thrilled to have listened to his creations. It never gets old. We have of course other tremendously outstanding musical geniuses (also delightful to listen to) but none requiring nor demanding so much from a 120 plus instrument orchestra. Conductor Maazel made some very nice choices for these excerpts. Also, beautifully performed by the orchestra. Lastly, I have to confess that I might be a bit prejudiced (though I don't think so judging by the "thumbs up") because I was born in Rostock und die Heimat ist und bleibt die Heimat.
Sadly, many thousands of confiscated written literary and musical genius were burnt in the furnaces of the cheka/nkvd/ogpu/kgb to keep their lubyanka offices warm... and in so doing choked off the voice of the Russian people. Who can guess how much genius was snuffed out in the camps?
He will never come again. And there was never any musician as great as Richard Wagner. So beautiful was he in his gift to the world. Now he will live to the ending of the world.
Never will happen. God is dead.
Thanks Richard for giving us an hour and a half to close our eyes and be transported to world of the gods.
RIP
Vielen Dank für die Talente.🥰👍🎵🎶🎼🌍❤
I envy these young musicians, getting to play such magnificent music relatively early!
Ah, the Old Sorcerer, his head filled with The Ring, Bayreuth, Schopenhauer, Gesamtkunstwerk, Nietzsche, and thousands of Leitmotifs,.....would he appreciate this exuberant group of young musicians giving their all for his extraordinary music.....?
Splendid. Thank you.
What a terrific performance! And by a youth orchestra, no less. If we were listening over FM radio, we might have suspected it was the Berlin Philharmonic or the Bavarian Radio Orchestra. This is the second time I have viewed this. Thanks for posting.
Wayne Lutton, Ph.D. V
@Wayne Lutton, Pnh.D. Yes they are very good, better than I have heard from some pro orchestras; but you would need a very poor FM radio (or a not very musical ear) to confuse their playing with the Berliner Philharmoniker.
[PS, You are an academic snob. Including your Academic quailifications with your name ─ citing them outside a relevant academic situation ─ is just not done. Are you so insecure?]
Absolutely superb performance of sublime music Thank you so much! It really doesn't get better than this...
Spectacular, just spectacular! Everyone, and particularly the conductor for bringing it together.
Just simply wonderful!
Such a joy and delight - Pure Soul Music!!
BEAUTIFUL, EVERY DAY I LISTEN , EVERY DAY BEAUTIFUL , MY EMOTION IS INCREASING TO NEW LEVEL EVERY DAY.
what an honest and passionate performance absolutely wonderful🎶
22:40 my Favorite. I can cry
Oi Sascha muito lindo esse trecho.Wagner mostrou do que ele era capaz.Um gigante da música.
why?
Even Wotan cries with that, it's actually the Wotan's love theme
Cayde 666 I always in tears when I watched or listened Wotan’s Farewell, it’s haunting❣️
Du hast recht. Gänsehaut jedesmal.
Ausgezeichnet!!!!!!!!!!!! Magnifico!!!!!!!!!! Perfecto!!!!!! Ochen Horosho!!!!!!
The opening of Das Rheingold, There is nothing more awesome!
Nagyon jó felvétel! Ezt többször is megnézem. Ajánlom másoknak is.A karmester Christfried Göckeritz.
Gracias!
:-D Tolle Arbeit!
Zyklus, es ist ein Opernzyklus ...
Johann Schneider vc
vc?
Das ist sehr emotional.
Bravo Wagner!!!!!!!!!Excelet music!
The best rendition of Maazel’s Ring without Words that I’ve heard to date! Kudos to you, young musicians, and to your concert master!
Excelente.
17:24 That's Amazing!!
MAGNIFICENT
Kudos to the Bass Trumpeter, he killed it!
Quite cerebral music, worth listening to it again and again to catch the depth of its build
Such work, such Magic!
Brilliant, thanks for uploading - in HD too! :)
Extraordinaria orquesta y muy buen director.
What I heard of the original score thumbs up
Fabuloso ❤
Bravo!!!
Thrillingly done!
Are you new to the Ring? Begin here!
Do you enjoy it on stage? Try this, it's maybe better like this!
Absolutely amazing!
Gracias.....
Gran interpretacion
♥♥♥
THANK YOU DEUTSCHLAND FOR WAGNER DANKE SCHOEN
Dr.Leiva Roberto Rosario Argentina
excellent
The livery stables and the hateful king a whole world of imagination opens starting with sun rise and the grandeur of the love of a people. Bravo. BRAVO
Hammer guy at 11:50... :)
how an orchestra can play the end-music from Goetterdamerung without breaking down is beyond me. Peak music of Western Civilization. Thanks, RW....and LM.
For a High School Band...Awesome!
oh, and I'm guessing you could do SOOO much better?
?
Excelsior wonderfull !
1:05:14 The woman lefts eyes and feel waht shes thinking and this melody this is a very experience for me. I can feel the music with the caracters in this video. its very interessant
The incomparable and unique prime donne assolute, dive supreme et Helden Tenor of Richatrd Wagner's majestic and sublime music is THE SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA.
Ott többi is, és bennük a lehetőség: Tristan und Isolde, Parsifal,Tannhauser, Lohengrin, Der Fliegende Hollander
Names of the first trumpet and French horn anyone? Amazing job, kudos to them!
Thanks
❤
I love how at the end of the immolation music the string section are all sawing away at their violins. If I were one I'd rig mine with a smoking effect
11:52 What Instrument do you play? I play the f****** Hammer lol
I play the fucking hammer, not badass enough?... lol
the Martell
Don't knock it.
This is Wagner so technically it would be "Hammer of the Gods"
look also at the face of the musician on the right . He seems to be amused;
Sokkal lendületesebb, mint The Symphonyc RING irányítója és valószínűleg összeállítója is.
Maravilha!
18:35 Ride of the Valkyries
Wow, I am very impressed with this performance. I am amazed as to how tight and in tune they are. Very good indeed!! The tempos of the conductor provided is also very good.
I'm just blown away that they are that tight. The brass players got tired half way through, so their intonation could be better, but hey, they played a lot, so it's not their fault.
The strings are have very good to excellent intonation. And they're together!!
Plus, the girls are so beautiful!!! They should be models. There are so many very pretty looking girls. 2nd Oboe, the horn player that doubles the Wagner Tuba next to the contra-bassoon, the 1st clarinet, the concert master, the timpanist, and many more. They're all fit looking girls too.
what a strange comment
Another words; "forget the ladies ... Bond"!!!
24:57 its a very lyric part.wow
1:07:27 Timpani wrong entry!!
Richard Wagner is in Valhalla and is sitting on a throne admiring this enchanted performance and his heart is ablaze...
Perfeito
Si
Thank You Close
The conductor is not elegant but he gets a very decent sound from his players. There used to be on UA-cam a video of Maazel (who put together this wordless Ring) conducting this piece. It was a very fine video production but it seems to have disappeared from UA-cam.
+Dieter Seattle The conductor doesn't NEED to be elegant. It's the sound that matters. :)
I'll agree on that. But elegance in a conductor is an attractive attribute.
+Dieter Seattle I agree; elegance in a conductor is extremely important; especially the wearing of a nice hat; one with a feather in it; I love hats, also boots; thigh high boots are very attractive; and a nice stick for conducting with is also important; a good long one.
+Dieter Seattle Where did you get that picture of my cat? Elegance is best demonstrated by the shoes. Shoes so well shined that they look like patent leather, that's the real deal. Actual patent leather is unelegant. Aero1
whatever!
The way it should be done
The opening minutes of 'Rheingold' can be tricky, and this youth orchestra struggled, but things improved after the first five minutes or so. Very impressive.👍
this is the best part and you can't change my mind 18:57

I agree with almost all of the other comments....I love it and I listen to it over and over....
On an unrelated subject I erroneously made a comment criticising another poster, " HighLandKing ", whose comment had nothing to do with this beautiful, evocative music! Somehow he was expressing such outlandish racially biased comments that I impulsively responded! Jeesh, I had either buy a better brand of booz, or go to bed earlier.... Wes

Rectifico: el director es Christfried Göckeritz
👍
Wer's kennt und sich auskennt schmunzelt.
Yes, That's not Lorin MAAZEL.
8:53 - Cannibal Corpse - "Hammer smashed face"?
Pretty good -- and for a high school, too!
that's not Lorin Maazel.
Maazel arranged the piece, and was first to conduct it but it is now led by others.
Its Elvis Presley
@@maratom34 I saw Elvis at a performance by the Berlin Philharmonic some months back... he was wearing a cocked hat with a long peacock feather...

18:36 Lift off
29 will be denied by the Gods!
11:00 starts detuning... but recovers later.
17:44 Star Wars?
It is The Ride of Valkyrie
Yeah, John Williams once said that he would never be as good as "the old Masters". I am sure he knows this peace. : )
Well Morden101, while I too enjoy the 'music', it is just Wagner's medium; the libretto is his message (hardly fair to consider it 'screeching). In short, it tells of an ancient people wise enough to create their gods as finite doufases who have to eat a special diet to stay young, and have to hire evil giants to build Valhalla for them, and then can't pay when the job is done … yadayadayada … and blessedly die out before screwing up the world too badly. Contrast that with OUR ancestors, who created infinite Deities (and promptly began killing off non-believers willy-nilly) which are still hanging around so preoccupied with not answering prayers that the world is going to hell in a hand basket … and without much really memorable music to show for it.
