- We recently held a Kinefinity open day in our Hemel Hempstead showroom with Philip Bloom. The day was a massive success and customers were really interested in finding out more about this camera. Before the day began, we had the chance to talk to Philip about Kinefinity and why he's come to rely on these cameras for his work.

A regular and speedy delivery would do worlds of good for Kinefinity. If people can't see and touch your products it's like they don't exist. And not for just a day or two. People really need time with these cameras.
Agreed, one Kinefinity can make enough we will have them in stock here at ProAV.
Plus we have demo units for people to try out, and we are working with Hire companies so people can hire them for longer periods to spend some quality time with them.

ProAV TV my company is looking for a cinema camera and we are deciding between a c200 and a red, curious about this camera though. Probably will be paired with our zeiss cinema

The Terra is 2 stops better than the Mavo? Did I hear that correctly?
That was Philips guess for high ISO performance. We haven't measured it.
In low light the Terra 4K is definitely better than the S35 version of the MAVO.
Overall though I think the MAVO's image is nicer

He means sensitivity in low light. The Mavo has higher DR.
They told me this can support Sony E lenses, but can it control the aperture and power the focus motors?
The E mount is passive and has no electronics. So you need a manual E mount lens for it to work.

I wish you had them in stock and not a 6-8week wait, I would buy the Terra tomorrow otherwise.
That’s the point we want to get to. However at the moment Kinefinity haven’t been able to make enough cameras to meet demand. That is changing though as they have a new factory up and running now. So hopefully the wait time will get less and less over the next 6 months until eventually we have them in free stock.

Curious why full frame matters? It seems pointless to me when we have plenty of low light and resolution and lensing with s35.
Shallower DoF at wider angles, less noise in higher ISO, wide angle lenses are easier to come by and have less distortion

...so you have to crop sensor for smaler formats on the terra or mavo?
In Prores you can oversample the whole sensor to shoot 4k and 1080p using the full width of the sensor.
If you want to get the highest frame rates though you will have to crop in.

And who cares? I think it's a good move to be hired to promote your camera sales. It's also about leveraging knowledge and making money, I don't think Phillip lives on your "likes".
