I really LOVE Dolly Mama's Museum of Dolls:)!!! I so LOVED the Southern Plantation Dollhouse Pebbles Doll, Rainbow Brite Doll, ALL the Barbies and Kens, Raggedy Ann Dolls, Miniature Raggedy Anns, Toy Horses,Teddy Bear Clown, Glamorous Bride Doll, Plush Lamb, Vintage Playpall Girl, Plush Tweety Birds, 1940 Margarete O' Brain Dolls, 1998 VE Turner Doll, Vintage Lunch Boxes like Garfield, Little House on the Prairie, and Garfield Mug:)!! I enjoyed the discussion on Appraising too:)!! Also, Worthpoint is a very good site. In fact, I found my old Kusan Dollhouse on Worthpoint, which I no longer have, but I was happy to have found it:)!! Thank you for this very fun Mama's Museum of Dolls Appraising and looking at all her treasures:)!! And I so LOVE your Star Background too:)!!

I spotted and you talked about my Mary Poppins doll. I have done a lot thrift and antique shopping and have never seen one like her. It made me happy to know she looked exactly like I remembered. Unbelievable collection. I hope the family came to a good decision about what to do with it.

Wow! Incredible collection 😍 I'm guessing it's worth $50,000- pre-auction value. Post auction is quite another story. You buy the collection and it must be a reasonable price.

This is such a good video. I belong to several doll collecting groups on Facebook. So many people will join the groups to get us collectors to give a informal appraisal based on pictures of their parents doll collection. (What’s the “value”?). I always think it is kinda weird when someone responds with “oh that doll isn’t worth that much; let me buy it from you!”. The good thing. about doing it publicly is that many group members will encourage family members to contact auction houses and do their own research. But folks just want to know if their mother’s porcelain mass market doll collection is worth thousands.
It would be good to do a video of ten tips for collectors to document their favorite dolls and leave instructions for their heirs. Or a video for heirs like a “you inherited a doll collection, what now?” especially if it’s a small to medium sized collection.
Also it would be good to do a video on how to use eBay. My group members have to constantly remind people to look at the sold prices on eBay not the posted prices, because sometimes the prices are far above what the current market allows. But I don’t think enough people know to contact a professional appraiser-especially for the larger collections. They are often so overwhelmed and think their only option is estate sale and auction house . They come to the group for support but they forget the group members are looking for a bargain too.
And a video for when you can take your doll out of the box! Why people buy dolls to not enjoy them is crazy to me. Especially if it a modern doll.

So very informative. Thanks for sharing. I’m usually on the other end receiving donations to pass on the others. We too get people who are upset because they feel like they have donations worth hundreds of thousands and they want credit for that. We send them to appraisers because we do not appraise, they are often mad at us too because they thought they had something worth a lot more. I have really enjoyed watching this.

I saw a UA-cam video about some people who bought a property with a couple houses on the property and one house was a doll collection house only. Apparently they could have bought the homes separately but they bought the whole property both homes and with the doll collection and then sold the dolls. I liked the red petal car. I had one when I was two. I think my grandpa bought it at a second hand store in 1963 but I think it must have been older maybe 1950's. It was really fun. My mom had home movies of me driving it at age 2. She dressed me like a doll and I still have the dress in the home movie. Maybe it was my birthday? I also liked the nice size Dr. Doolittle doll or maybe it was him in My Fair Lady. Might have to look at the actor and see if I can find him as a doll. He starred in Laurence of Arabia too.
