People keep referring to the gimmicky BL2 style character names they used instead of the actual armour types (which was listed below the character name) "The Leader" Was just Civilian clothing "The Pilot" Was Combat Pilot Flight Suit "The Driver" Was Racing Flight Suit "The Tank" Was Heavy Combat Armour "The Tracker" Was Heavy Hunter Armour "The Sniper" Was Light Stealth Armour
"It was big. Really, really big. No, bigger than that. Even bigger. Keep going. More. No, more. Look, we're talking krakens and dreadnoughts for jewelry. It was big" -Arna Kennerd, skyknight
Is the worm a concept or is it planned as a straight to flyable? What QD do you think it gets by default. These are some important unanswered questions
It will not, but if you hit it with too heavy of weapons, it'll scorch all the materials. So no A2, no Polaris Torps. Zac commented on it and confirmed.
So, I was tinking 'bout me basebuilding boat and building a base around this wurm, see... and it all sounded like this logic step as all progress is slow like flowing glass, see....
so the part that confused me are these gear specifications not on all armor? only endgame armor? a couple years ago they talked that your armor was your class and specifications sound like that but the panel made it seem like not all armor was going to be that way.
As it should be. Some armor is just going to be the temu or wish type. Looks good but is just normal cheap walmart stuff. You can find or craft the higher end stuff that has these attributes. That is how I would interpret it at least.
the CIG "Name a thing so it sounds like a massive achievement as opposed to a prettier basic mechanic that exists in plenty of IPs" thing will never not make me slightly nauseous but I'm glad to hear that they eventually want clothes and armor to be mix/matched. I am dismayed by the amount of "coming someday" announcements though. 2023 Citcon had a much more grounded vibe. ...Not that they necessarily achieved those promises yet. Spooky business imo
Yup, back for more. But this is likely the worst news so far. Not upset at the worm itself, but that 2 months ago, criticism of wasting time with jump gate rework was dismissed with "We care very deeply about the lore and it didn't match." and then here we are with a sandworm and no word of the Lier system, so they will just fit it somewhere that has something like sand....dont think about geology and a worm moving through it as that speed. Care about lore or dont, but they need to stick with one if they are going to use it to dismiss criticism. Then on top of that, it can target ships flying, and spit at them. Sure...they evolved ship-targeting at some point now. No organs that make sense, it just works. Tremors in the air i guess, except when they dont want that. No rules game design; Let's Go! It all stinks of desperation.
Why would you need to come up with a catchy tech name for gear that every single MMO ever, has built into its character leveling system. CIG is turning into apple. Make something that is so common in every other instance but when apple does it, it's revolutionary and needs a new gimmicky name.
They didnt thats the thing, they were doing a Borderlands\Oceans style gimmick for their motley crew "The Leader" Was just Civilian clothing "The Pilot" Was Combat Pilot Flight Suit "The Driver" Was Racing Flight Suit "The Tank" Was Heavy Combat Armour "The Tracker" Was Heavy Hunter Armour "The Sniper" Was Light Stealth Armour it said all these directly under their characters "Name" but now everyone is stuck for example thinking the Heavy Hunter Armour is called The Tracker set. I dont think it went the way they wanted.
Sorry, are you talking about « starwear » ? Mix matching armours and civilian wear, with dynamic coherent visual interactions for items that are that diverses is far from « MMO standard ». Just see how metahumans « we tuck the jeans into the boots automatically » seen as revolutionary… The tech is way more complex that you think it is. They will have a name internally anyway, so giving this name to the community just make it easier to identify and talk about. No harm in that.
I could careless about the worm fight. Armor and how its going to work fine. But the worm? Meh. I feel like we see this every year with this game. A bunch of tangible crap that doesn't matter, a butch of described intangible stuff that does matter, and a PowerPoint of the stuff that really matters like crafting and how the economy might work. When you can kill this giant work ingame and its not a buggy crashy mess, ill care, until then meh.
"Worms available with warbonds....no ! " This one made my day ^^

I love that you can hear Croncy yell "Yeah, let's go!"
Star hair, now star wear? I seriously star care.
Star Money
It's all "Star For The Course" with CIG
That Valkyrie minigun
Would small arms even do anything to the worm? Would it even make sense to use a rifle when you could be in a ship?
Grumpy was right.

I bet that worm won't be able knock a polaris out of the air, lol
It will not, but if you hit it with too heavy of weapons, it'll scorch all the materials. So no A2, no Polaris Torps. Zac commented on it and confirmed.
@@TheAbominableSnowflakes Ram it
Thanks noob!
No LTI sandworm then??
thanks man - fly safe
Yup. Back for more!
So what about the "industrial armor"? What does that do?
So, I was tinking 'bout me basebuilding boat and building a base around this wurm, see... and it all sounded like this logic step as all progress is slow like flowing glass, see....
Awesome to see. Wondering how many years it’ll take for the worms to not crash the servers. Good hopium and SC dream food for sure.

Endgame? What Endgame?

was that the new crusader startership at the wormfight or an ares inferno ?
I have not flown my inferno in so long, and have not seen the new MFD layout in it, but that definitely appears to be the cockpit view I remember.
That was an Ares.
Inferno
Honestly, it feels that they are over complicating the game or planning to do so.
I really want to ride a sandworm but I walk without rhythm :(
I like wearing clothes!
Meh.
Limiting pilots to light armor or flight suit makes sense, beyond that just give us armor and suit options.

That's some careless misuse of the dictionary.
