I SENSE A SOUL IN SEARCH OF ANSWERS Good call on using fire walls to quickly level up and just in general trounce the game completely. After months of playing "The Hell" mod, I have forgotten how OP Fire Wall is in the original game. Nice to see that in an RTA run you get to see enough of the game that the MS no-stun bug actually matters - and how! Casting fire walls in Diablo's chamber like nobody's business is a huge possibility that otherwise wouldn't be there. I never actually used this in normal gameplay, knowing that it's a "glitchy" advantage, but I had no idea just HOW much hit recovery means in this game. Wow. Finally, with the phasing... nice idea, but to my completely non-expert eyes, it seems you may be using your phasing improperly. Granted, almost nobody actually relies on phasing in normal gameplay, but there's an excellent post on the DSF community that explains how Phasing works, why it's not random, and why standing as close to the wall as possible in order to phase over it can be a terrible idea: thedsfcommunity.yuku.com/topic/900/The-Phasing-Spell-a-Treatise#.Va4gNPmIxxA Granted, it doesn't matter all that much, considering it still didn't take you long to phase the right way and with save/load the whole run comes down to mostly luck. Overall, nicely done. Especially considering that Diablo lends itself terribly to speedruns.
I am using mana shield, thus all damage I take is taken from mana instead of life. That makes mages especially very tanky since they can have a lot more mana than life. It also allows you to abuse the fact that if your life is
In a lot of cases speedrunning is not only about playing well but also about abusing glitches in a game to achieve the lowest time possible, but I totally agree - the Diablo 1 run is pretty boring - it all comes down to luck, barely any execution required
any% means "beat the games as fast as possible by and means necessary" this includes using everything the game gives us to work with, including glitches but excluding cheats. If it would be a run without glitches it would be called "glitchless"
i dont know my fun is to explore every floor completely in theese hack and slash type of game enjoy the new aquired gear etc i would not be able to do it this way :P i could but wont enjoy i guess :P

Wow, no wonder why I'm always lost playing this game. It's a rogue like. Where random maps are generated, so yeah, you're gonna get lost.
15:20 Hahahaha ^^
CAn't find any glitchless speedruns on youtube. :(
+Skyler Weaver try your luck here: www.speedrun.com/Diablo#AnyRTA_Glitchless_No_S%2BQ
How come the energy bar does not decrease, even though you get a hit?

Try the GOG client that was released recently. worked like a breeze for me
you should name it "dupe" run
speed run but not really cause of using a glitch.

LaV Should put "using glitch" in the title.
