Hi Pierre. Thanks for the tour of Erica. FYI, and your viewers, author and railway expert Nick Anchen produced a book detailing the history of the Moe -Walhalla railway, Rails to Old Walhalla. Very interesting history of the area. Cheers.
Correct! The rails were acquired in the hope to extend the railway from Thompson to Erica, hoping to get State Government assistance but the State is broke so it probably won't happen in my lifetime (next 30 years)
Puffing Billy ran for an anniversary, it was a 1 off, but the puffing Billy railway do have a steam locomotive in storage that was purchased specifically for logging in Gippsland around the moe walhalla line, if only they would donate it back

Thanks I will have a look.
The Cafe in Erica has great food, especially the scones! 😋
I am recommending them to everyone, it's very nice well managed.
Another interesting adventure. Thank you.
Our pleasure!
I lived there as a kid, I went back recently to check it out again. It's a lot slower now. Great vid.
Glad you enjoyed it
My fathers cousins lived there for many years. Albert I think worked at that mill.
Great history, glad this video was able to make people reminisce
Love this little town on the way to Walhalla gold town...they used to call it Australias little Switzerland...CHEERS !
So cool!
I’m a rail buff and correct me if I’m wrong but I think they are going to extend the railway line back to Erica from Thomson
I haven't heard that, I do know that the bike trail is on the old rail line. Not sure, sorry
