That car is fully smartkey equipped. Either your fob is broken/not programmed or the smartkey system is disabled (press the button under the steering column to toggle smartkey system on/off)
BoulderHybrids 2 years later I reply.. lol but yes the smart key worked I figured how to use it a couple weeks after filming the video. The battery was almost dead was the cause. Def miss the Prius and gas milage it provided
My only complaint on the gen II is the oil usage between oil changes and the seats are uncomfortable on long trips no lumber or bolster support doesn't matter if its cloth or leather I have both between my 06 and 07.
Nice car, it's the same color and package as my new 06'! And it does have smart key, and those buttons on the door handles and on the back hatch lock the car when you push them so yo don't have to pull out the key to push lock. and you can leave your key in your pocket when you come back, just grab the door handle and it will unlock. With the Prius Toyota has been archieved a really milestone while the Audi 100, 80 or A4 "duo" were overpriced and unsaleable prototypes! And Toyota have built over 10 million hybrid-cars since 1997! There is no need for any comment!
Ugly? No. Unusual, largely misunderstood body styling that was a distinct departure from other bog standard vehicles? Hell, yeah! That's mass produced automotive aerodynamics for you :-)

I used to rent this car all the time, I fell in love with it, I loved the automatic headlights, sweet car.
The gen 2 Prius never had automatic headlights just so you know.

I bought a used 2009 for really cheap, it has 177K miles on it and still runs like a new car. I been getting 52 mpg easy.

You don't need to put the key in that thing you can just leave it in your pocket and the engine turned on so it can pre warm

Nobody buys a prius to get laid or say they have a sexy car. We drive them because they are cheap and great on gas along with easy maintenance.
