And the world keeps spinning.
Finally! After almost half a week of consecutive uploads, we’ve made it to the song that made me want to come back. My most current cover, Kami no Manimani!
I never get to do anything by rerulili but after an anonymous person on tumblr requested it, I couldn’t stop singing it. I think I listened to Rib and Kashitarou’s cover then un:c and Mafumafu’s and- well I went on a rampage for a bit haha. It really did cheer me up though and (with the help of a few people) made me realize a few things about myself. So in the spirit of the song, I hope you sing along!
Or at least hum ‘cause it’s catchy as heck.
PS. This is tells the story of Amaterasu, the ancient Japanese goddess of the sun. It's a pretty cute take on it if I do say so myself haha!

There are two things to take away from this video...

I went in a naked sauna with friends last year, it was relaxing and funny, because nobody of us was in a sauna before X"D
We are really close friends so seeing eachother naked is okay for us, of course if someone don´t like it, it´s okay, and we don´t laugh about others, that is rude and stupid.

Actually, Branwyn, although the word "kami" is often translated to "god," the two ideas are very different. Shinto is radically different from any western religion, to the point that I simply cannot neatly sum it up in one comment. If you have any level of interest in foreign cultures and religions, please do yourself a favor and look it up. It is fascinating.

This song's model is from famous Japanese myth “Amanoiwato”, write 天の岩戸 in Japanese.
This women in this song's name is Amatelas, the sun goddess. She has two younger brother, Tukuyomi and Susanoo. They are triplet and administering three most important part ofJapan, that is middey ,night and ocean, and Amatelas is also the chief god.
One day, Susanoo come to Amatelas's castle and act violently by no leasons. Amatelas got so angry and hide into a big cave, call Amanoiwato.All of other gods (actually It is said to be there are about 8000000 gods are there in Japan. Don't you think that's so amazing?) are shocked because by the time she shut oneself in,all of the lights are got out. So they had a big party and making big noise and try to feeled Amatelas to leave the cave and have fun. They had longlong party and finally she get out.
This song's heroine is say to be Amatelas by the Japanese people because the small part of the picture show us same from the myths. Actually don't now why this story became to this song. One thing we know is this song mabe by Japanese and this myths is come from Japan too. If you cannot accept polytheism, just think the god saying in this song is actually a spirit. It’s not so far from the truth.

This song is about the story of Amaterasu, the Japanese Godess of the Sun. She locked herself in a cave after her brother (the god of seas) destroyed her temple out of anger. She hide because she was depressed, and said "Who wants to live or be known when the temple I was known for is now ruins!" They tried to get her out, because without the sun, people and gods and plants were dying. The half naked girl was most likely Ame (something I forgot), the beauty godess, who danced outside and soon all the leaves she dressed in came off, she danced fast and naked. When Amaterasu came out to look, she caught her face in the mirror (eight legged mirror in the story), and said "What is that radiant light? Who is that beautiful face?" They replied. " It's you, the radiant one! " And yatta yatta she came out they danced happy happy

Her brother threw a skinned horse onto her and her maids or helpers or something like that, and she locked herself in the cave. The gods basically did the same thing and partied outside the cave with the mirror in front of the entrance so that Amaterasu would come out. She looked out and saw the mirror, and was lured out by her own beauty, then the gods blocked the cave with a net and forced her to come all the way out and made it so that she couldn't go back inside. Her brother had his beard shaved, nails removed, and was banished as punishment.

+ωяєη ѕαηвσяη Yeah, Susano'o skinned her prize horse and threw it into the part of Amaterasu's palace where she and her handmaidens were weaving. One of the handmaidens was killed. On top of that, he also destroyed her rice paddies. the half naked goddess is Uzume (Ame no Uzume no Mikoto) and it is one of two times where she strips for the fate of the world.

It's a shame most westerners don't know the story behind the visuals of this song. It's a story where everyone essentially throws a huge, loud, and rowdy party to rouse the Sun Goddess, Amaterasu, out from a cave she's sulking in, so that her radiant sun may shine on the land again. It's one of the very very few stories in mythology where everyone's just having a very good time and having a blast together in peace and harmony.
That's cool but it'd be impossible for me to know that before I read it cuz I'm irish so...

She went to hide because another god destroyed her temple or was harrasing her ladies or something,, and the other gods were trying to convince her to come out because all the humans were dying without the sun
Fun fact: Whenever I start to feel disconnected from the world and hopeless, this is one of my go-to songs to ground myself and feel the world around me :D Juby's got a beautiful bright voice that really encapsulates the wishful and later joyful tone of the song

I read other versions of this myth but only the reason of amaterasu's saddeness was different. It was still cause by her brother, yet he had done different things to sadden her.
As someone from a monotheist country (Algeria) I really like all sorts of mythologies and love looking into different believes and religions! Japanese myths just happen to be on my top favorite ones! This song is also one I really like! I feel like this story of amaterasu can be applied in everyday's life and that's lovely. For me, i take it as in, one can always overcome their saddeness no matter what, and that there are always people here to help and support you.
I send my utter respect and live to you and your country hoping the country of the rising sun stays prosper and lively!

This is something that Japanese people themselves often misunderstand, but "8000000 yaoyorozu" means a lot, not the literal 8000000.

I'm the opposite. I clicked this one and I was like "omg so happy. WHY?!?!" I like lost ones weeping, lie, lost time memory's, eta... Jubys up beat songs bore me but everyone has there own opinion. This is just mine. I like the one two videos ago. I don't know the name but it starts with a Y.

Teresa Broderick Actyaly,that's Artemis in Greek myths. Amatelas is a chief god of Japanese myths.
Artemis is the moon god but Amatelasis the sun god. There name are so alike so many people are confuse.
Incidentally, Apollo and Artemis are twins but Amatelas is triplet, with Tukuyomi, the moon god and Susanoo, the ocean god.
Artemis is actually a goddess and she is connected to the moon but she's not exactly the GODDESS of the moon. That's Selene. She's actually the goddess of hunting and fertility. (She is very much related to the moon though, she could be considered a moon goddess.)
Japanese god of moon is tsukuyomi which means 月読moon reading /guessing . Amaterasu (a goddess of the sun ）, tsukuyomi (a god of the moon /the darkness of the night ）,Susano (a god of the coasts but he threw his job and went to the world (ne- no- kuni ）which exists between this world and that world in order to meet his mother izamami (who is goddess of death） . This story is about the time he went to Takamagahara where his sister lives to say farewell before he went to nenokuni . however he caused many problems at the Takamagahara and finally he killed a goddess. His sister , Amaterasu is a very kind goddess so she helped his brother at first but she finally lost the confidence after that incident . then , she went behind the Amanoiwato . The story is said to tell about a total eclipse of the sun .）

ahh,i remember this!it's about a myth from japan.if i recalled,there was two Gods who are siblings,the sun Godess Amaterasu,and the moon God Susan'oo.one day,Susan'oo got mad because his sake went missing,so he destroyed Amaterasu's garden.and because of that,she went sad,and then hide in a cave.and because she's not around(basically means there's no sunlight),everything can't grow.and then,Susan'oo apologizes,and asked the other Gods to make her out.and then,when she came out,they show her a mirror,and said,'you are our sunlight!so please don't get mas again'.and happily ever after,haha
oh yeah,the one who makes her out is amano uzume,the goddess of art and craft.
Okay that is funny though to know all this backstory, because Susanoo essentially gets Orochi (the eight-headed? seven?) dragon drunk with sake of course and then defeats him when incapacitated. And then he gets a wife as a "thank you" from the old couple who had lost seven other daughters sacrificed to Orochi. So his sake saga continues...
Susanoo is the storm God not the moon God. The moon God is Tsukuyomi.
Iirc, Susanoo actually threw a skinned horse at her, and after she banned him from the heavens, she hid the cave

Oh shoot!! This was the story of the sun goddess going into the cave huh!! Aw man I loved that story! Especially when they thought a mirror would work! This song is really amazing and you did such a great cover!!
For the ones who don't know what this song is about
This story is about the Goddess Amaterasu, who lived in cavern, with the company of her servants. Everyday in the morning, she leaved the cavern to light up the earth. Sussano'o, who is Amaterasu brother, ruined the camps and killed 3 of Amaterasu's servants. Amaterasu didn't liked what her brother done, so she hide in the cavern, and the light was gone forever. The earth and the sky was in dark, so the humans and god were afraid, and wanted to make the light come again. With that, they had the idea of make a party in front the cavern where Amaterasu was hiding. They tried to make Amaterasu happy again, by Uzume dance half nude in the party.
Amaterasu was curious so she got out of the cavern and found the mirror that reflected Amaterasu face. She got surpriesed and more happy to see a beautiful woman, that was her. And with that the world had light again.

I love the tempo in this song especially when juby sings the "Just Leave it to the deities" part, also I couldn't help but notice that the message of the song is to never let anyone get you down no matter what the world loves you just as much as you love it ^.^ Such a wonderful message :D

At first, I thought it was about a Japanese princess who had so many responsibilities and was having trouble and kept making mistakes, and there were these little people called dieties, sort of like guardian angels or something, that are supposed to cheer people up and whenever they are upset. The princess hid under a rock and the dieties began dancing and cheering for the princess. She came out and they said, "Look at you! You're too beautiful to hide in a rock for so long! You can make it through! We believe in you!" and she was so happy and danced with them, then she conquered all of her responsibilities. Now I know the actual story about the Japanese goddess lol. I still think that my theory would have made a great anime!
