Hi Matthew! It’s me Grace! ( the Grace in your class with Dahn and Ethan). Your videos are so good and you are making so much progress! Wish you good luck 🍀
I Loved this video! Thanks for bringing us into your life and hobbies. The idea of you creating a plant to name after your Beautiful Wife and Son is AMAZING!! ❤🌱❤🌱
Well, that was good and covered a lot! I'll remember to check this first before asking some random question in the future! It was long but easy to watch in a couple of chunks while doing laundry, etc. Thanks for all the info!
@@TechplantChannel hope if you do streaming it'll be something like this. Maybe take notes on the aquatic streamers? Either way loved watching an hour of questions and tangents the best.
Matt it’s great to see you doing well in your UA-cam plant videos, and doing something you thoroughly enjoy. This came across my feed and it was fun to hear you answer many of the questions that came through. Keep up the good work!!
Well, I made it to the end of the video and I found it to be very informative. I enjoy your experimenting videos the most because I like to see the starts, updates and ending and how long it usually takes to see results. Thanks for taking us along on your plant journeys. I am looking forward to future videos.
Really love your videos especially your experiments! I really want to see a variegation experiment. Does light really influence variegation? What about cutting at certain nodes?
Haven‘t seen a video of you in a while (like over a year) when you also said you‘d be doing less frequently or so but I guess that the algorithm just hasn‘t been showing them! gonna have to catch up with your content!
Man it’s still fun to have a UA-camr acknowledge a question of yours. (I was the red flags one, I did eventually get my albo) but I saw so many scams that people were falling head of heals for. They also had some weird statements in their shops. I do think I changed my name since then
Thank you for this informative video, Prof. Techplant! I should do online lectures right now, buuuuut... I guess this counts as education as well, right? 😉
i love that this was a long video!! and i’d definitely watch you stream! we love your content, and i’m sorry if the views don’t reflect that. living in la, youtube revenue would probably only be enough to fill up my gas tank and no where near health care coverage 😭 ps small typo in the description: heal* sick plants instead of heel
Also, to add in low light plants tend to produce more green that could potentially mask variegation (not very low/ no light where the plant produces all white new growth). I'm also highly skeptical of light contolling variegation. Most variegation that is purported to be light sensitive is chimeric variegation which I thought was just random.
yeah there are many factors in this, I agree with what you've added and really Id have to actually do some tests on this to really come up with anything conclusive
How rare is my Christmas Cactus with the variegated segments on it? It's an ancient plant, it even has bark growing around the bottom 1/3 of it. Ha! We're neighbors, I'm in Minnesota.
Hi! Have you thought about an automated propagation bin? I cant find it anywhere in the Internet, yet i think with a raspberry pi, a air humidity sensor (dht22) and maybe a motor that opens the bin when maybe 90% is reached until its down to 75-80% would be a cool thing. Maybe even a little Fan attached to the top of the bin that blows air in/Out if its opened.
yeah i have the parts to make one, I wanted to also have a setting where it would do its best to reduce the humidity over the. course of a month to the rooms humidity in order to climatize to the room!
@@TechplantChannel an aclimatezing bin! So you can have a "two bin" process from cuttlings to Healthy plant. For the propagation bin you could also add a water pump that Puts in fresh water if air humidity doesnt reach 70% or so. And you could even at a water Level sensor and get an notification on the Smartphone if that water runs Out. Super automated. Sounds like a perfect techplant Project ;-)
I have a three year old Thaumathophyllum Xanadu that's been getting wild and there is no real tutorial on how to care for it on youtube. I saw people cutting the plant from below the last branches completely off the stem. I don't know if this is good way to 'prune' it but I'm so afraid to cut it since I really don't want to kill it. Thanks, love your channel.
Alive! Passed my area with little issue, can’t be said for most of Kentucky tho. Please be sure to always have a tornado plan everyone- future storm chaser here

5:20 no plant shaming in here, all plants are beautiful. I like the gracile aswell.
Yeah I find there's always a pleasant quirk to every plant!
Good one again 👍👏 edit: watching longer, this is actually very good and answered many questions I wondered 👌
Glad to hear! Thanks for watching!
I ain't got time for this unfortunately but imma let it play through in the background for the algorithm 💪

I Google filibuster and took a pic of Rand Paul and photo shopped my head on him lol
@@TechplantChannel lol!😆
Now you have to teach us your kimchi recipe! (or your wife's 😉)
I think we will make some this summer with garden vegetables
how long does propagation usually take
This really depends on the plant, some stuff roots in under a week, others root in 2 months
To control pests, why not go naturally and use Praying Mantis? They travel from plant to plant, and maybe even breed?
I can try that, there are a few other predatory bugs I want to try once its warm enough to have the shipped
I accidentally grow sphagnum moss in every terrarium I have. Lol
I love you
Thank you! I hope you enjoyed the video
Do you smoke any plants? 🤔
Lmao, there was a time in my history
There’s now a tornado risk in my area so I’ll update y’all on what’s the most tornado proof plant
