Hi again Tony, Marg the travelling Aussie here again. Just rewatching your Cordoba video now that my Zaragoza stay is finishing tomorrow and getting super excited to spend 5 nights in Cordoba exploring everything you’ve highlighted here and more! Thanks again for your useful and entertaining videos! Cheers
@ Yes, I do Tony, especially as I’m retired now so have total freedom, only limited by the Schengen rules!! So many photo opportunities in Cordoba! I’m excited!
We are planning a day trip to Córdoba. Tony’s video has helped us in that his information is precise, and loaded with details that us aid in making decisions about where to visit under a time crunch. Like his other videos, it’s refreshing that he actually shows you the sites he and his wife visit, as opposed to so many UA-camrs who are more interested in putting their faces on camera as much as possible.
Thank you for your kind words, Frank. When we started on UA-cam it was clear to us this channel should never be about our trips but rather about what can our trips to do help you. We still like to appear briefly on camera, but the channel is all about the destinations, not us. Recognition for our way of doing always make us happy. All the best!
I''m so incredibly grateful for all the amazing videos you create. I've watched several from this introduction of Cordoba, to others that teach how to use public transportation in Barcelona, etc. You all are such a valuable resource, I can't thank you enough.
This has been my favorite tourist video on Cordoba! We’ve booked five nights there and are now really excited to explore the city. We’re also excited try so many new foods. Thanks for all the suggestions!❤
Thank you, Indy, hope you will have a smashing time in Córdoba, it's a very beautiful city. While there, and since you will have enough time, don't miss Medina Azahara: ua-cam.com/video/0A3LZKB-E8w/v-deo.html
@@ROADTRIPSpainandPortugale just returned home from our visit, and I have two words to say. Qué Calor! 🥵🫠🔥 Even with temps in the 40’s we still enjoyed every minute. I can’t heap enough praise onto this city. Your video is spot on about what to see and do. My favorite part was the people. Everyone was so wonderful. The positive vibe made it even more special.

Thank you for such a beautiful video, we have been to Cordoba twice over the years and love it. Going for 4 nights in March 2023 still haven't seen all the places you mentioned. Thank you Tony, Dave UK.
Thank you, Gracias! I’ll be leaving for Spain in 10 days and have been watching many of your videos. Very helpful and great to get a preview of what I might see. We’ll be visiting Cordoba for a day trip from Sevilla. Looking forward to it! Thanks again!!!
Thank you for such a well presented video. Will be spending 2 nights in Cordoba this September. My wife and I will be following your advice. Excellent filming and soundtrack. Gracias.
Mazamorra is heaven. I’ve eaten it 3 times in 3 days and I don’t want to stop. And in Sevilla and Granada I already tried Salmorejo and Berenjenas con Miel thanks to your tips. Such wonderful dishes.
I definitely missed most of these areas. I will return. It's beautiful and so much to see and learn. Thank you...yes, a night and a full day will be amazing.
Hi Tony, Just got back from Cordoba 4 nights after 17 years! managed to do most of what you show in the video. the courtyards in Barrio de san Bassilio are such a delight. Went to Mecado Victoria twice. Re Berenenjenas con Miel Fabulous!!! Once again Tony Thank you for your Lovely Video. Dave UK.
Thank you for your kind words, Farah. This is a personal UA-cam channel and for that reason we like to appear on our videos, but we want to focus on the destinations we cover, the videos are not about us but rather about what can we do for you. Thanks for appreciating the effort we make on trying to make things our way. If we can be of any help, let us know. Kind regards!
Great job with this video- we have a little over 24 hours for our upcoming stay, and this video has provided clarity on what to do when there. Great video!
We were in Cordoba 2008 and we stayed at what was believed to be the residence of Seneca, being ignorant I had never heard of him. I was amazed when I researched and found who Seneca was and he actually comes from Cordoba. It is truly one place you must visit in Spain.
Adored cordoba, especially the baths between the mosque and the later palace, and the great noria near the Roman bridge, so impressed either the noria. The baths had an example from the caliphate, and from the taifa period etc,
Cordoba looks wonderful and the video makes us want to know, to be there. Excellent video, with important tips, very well produced and beautiful places. I loved it!
Again, thank you for making the best videos (of all areas) in UA-cam. Truly incredible. I wish we can meet in one of your trips so I can thank you in person. Also, please, if you can, make videos about Santander, Bilbao, A Coruña, Gijon, and Vigo.
Thank you for your kind words! Recording videos involves traveling to the cities, and our agenda is quite limited. But Bilbao is one of our priorities. All the best.
Loving your videos. Thank you. Hopefully, you can advise us on the best places to stay in old town with a range of tariffs, just like you have done in other places, as that’s really helpful! Cheers from Australia

Thank you. No, we don't have a video for the mosque nor plan to do one in the short term, as we have other priorities right now. But one day we'll get there.
Thank you so much for making these videos! They have been very helpful with the planning of my month-long trip to Spain starting in late-June of 2022! This video convinced me to spend some time in Cordoba. I am very excited, albeit a little concerned about the pickpockets while in Barcelona... Otherwise, I can't wait to see this amazing country! Cheers from Long Island, NY USA!
We're so glad to hear you've set aside some time for Córdoba, we hope you'll love the city. As for the pickpockets, don't let the thought ruin your holiday. They are an incredible nuisance (not just in Barcelona, mind you!), but as long as you are aware of their presence and keep your valuables safe, you'll be fine. All the best from Zaragoza!
Hi Tony, your shows are FABULOUS, the best. We will be going to Spain in September and would like to know if you have any hotel recommendations in Cordoba and also Ronda. Thank you so much from sunny Florida.
Hi Solange, we haven't done any videos on accommodation on those cities. Great video!... if you should suggest some other cities to combine with a visit to Cordoba..... what would that be?... we already visited Seville and Granada, thanks
Hi Tony, compliments on all your informative videos. We will be staying in Cordoba for four nights next month. We would like to take a day trip to Ronda. How do you recommend we travel there. Many thanks. Amy
Thanks for another wonderful road-trip, Tony !!! 👌 I got to visit Córdoba on our way to Sevilla years ago, unfortunately I didn’t have enough time to explore the city. I missed out on so many beautiful sites which I discovered in your video. But I did enjoy our visit to the Mesquita which was really a marvelous experience. Looking forward to our next road-trip. 😃 😃
At 12:14 you mentioned that you will have a separate video about the Mosque Cathedral and that there’s going to be a link to it. I couldn’t find the link, nor was I able to find the video by searching. Am I missing something?
Thank you, Tony! It would be funny if we ran into you too when we visit the Mosque Cathedral. I’ll say ”hi” if I do ;) of course, I’ll make sure not to interfere with the filming.
Most people stay in Córdoba just the one night, but you would have to leave out quite a few places if you only had one day. Try to spend two or three nights, so you can also visit Medina Azahara: ua-cam.com/video/0A3LZKB-E8w/v-deo.html All the best.
Hi Tony, great videos and what great information you provide, anyone travelling to Spain and Portugal can refer to your channel for every little detail. Do you think in your expert opinion it is possible to do a day trip to Cordoba, leave Madrid early and return from Cordoba in the evening.
Thank you for the tips. Do you know the opening hours for Alcazar of the christian monarchs? I will be visiting Cortoba on Friday and there is no information online if it is open on Fridays.
I'm going to Malaga early next month, I've already decided we're going to Gibraltar as my GF hasn't been but I'm deciding between Cordoba or Granada for another day trip. Which would you choose? Great video BTW
Granada could never ever be contemplated as a day trip, minimum three nights. So it would have to be Córdoba. See here the number of days we recommend for the most visited Spanish cities ua-cam.com/video/GkgrYc89s_o/v-deo.html All the best!
Hi Tony. We are spending 3 nights in Cordoba ( taking your advice and slowing down to have quality time in each destination) Thinking of doing a day trip to Granada. Very much want to see La Alhambra. Understand a long day. Your suggestions appreciated.
Great to hear you'll be spending three nights in Córdoba 👏👏 But Granada could never be seen as a day trip, we recommend a minimum of three nights in Granada to see the very basics. Leave Granada for a future trip when you can visit the city with adequate time. Visiting the Alhambra on a rush... a definite no-no.
Hola Tony, voy en dos semanas a España y tus vídeos son de mucha ayuda! Podrias por favor recomendar que restaurantes tienen un buen menú del día en Cordoba y Sevilla? Muchísimas gracias!
Hello Tony, We are enjoying your videos immensely! Next month we are traveling to Spain and will be in Madrid followed by Cordoba, then Granada, and back to Madrid. Our trips will be by train from and to Atocha Station, and we have a question. In your opinion, should we purchase our train tickets now, or wait until we are in Madrid? We are seniors and are aware that we can purchase Tarjeta Dorada passes which can save us 25% (?) off train fares. But we have watched your videos and learned that train prices can rise the closer we get to our travel date. What would you do - buy tickets now and forget the discount passes, or wait until we are there to get the senior discount passes? Fyi ... We are traveling to Cordoba the day after our arrival in Madrid. Thank you so much for your advice.
Hi Carol, to us, there is no discussion, buy your tickets as early as possible. The discounts offered by the Tarjeta Dorada pale in comparison with the ones you can get buying four months in advance. All the best!
Thanks for your Spain videos, get lots of useful information. I am planning to visit Seville, Granada and Cordoba in mid June, how’s the weather, will it be too hot?
Hello Pauline, be very welcome to the channel. June is our favorite month of the year to visit Spain. But in the south, if there's a heat wave over Spain, could get very hot (temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius). Unfortunately, it's impossible to tell in advance whether that's going to happen or not. June in the region is a much better choice than July, the chances of a heat wave are smaller. All the best!
Nice video, planning on spending 3 nights here after seeing your video, thank you we'll be watching alot more of your videos to plan our trip to spain. Maybe you could include entry prices, where applicable as well as prices of food and travel (seen a few of your other travel videos and price isn't mentioned), anyway thanks again.
Hello there and be very welcome to the channel. Three nights in Córdoba? What a great choice! We avoid mentioning entry prices because we want our videos to remain fresh for as long as possible. If you mention a price, it will be out-of-date in no time at all. Someone watching our video in 5 years time will probably find it is a disservice to mention a price that no longer exists. In this time and age it is really easy to check up-to-date entry prices on the internet, but if you have problems finding them, let us know and we'll check them out for you. All the best!
@@ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal hola Tony, thanks for replying to my comment and your informative videos. I do understand your point about prices changing overtime and dating of videos, but pricing info does help. Regardless I've found your videos very helpful and using them to plan our 4-6 week trip later on this year. I wish you all the best with the success of the channel
None of the cities you mention can be contemplated as day trips, so you would need to stay in each one of them. Many people do Córdoba as a day trip from Seville, but as you will have seen on the video, there are too many interesting things to see in Córdoba.
Hi Tony 😊 I am very impressed with your video. It is full of useful information and easy to understand. I need your little help with travel information from cordoba to Castillo Almodovar del Rio by public transport. I've been trying to find bus travel information myself, but I'm still confused. In addition, I had to ask for advice on my itinerary. On the 1st of December, I traveled from Granada and arrived in Cordoba at 7:30 am. Me and my 70-year-old father wanted to visit. Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba and Castillo Almodovar del Rio in the same day. How should I organize my itinerary? Please advise. And if possible please make a video about Castillo Almodovar del Rio that would be awesome. Thank you for your help.
Hi there, we haven't been to the castle yet, it's quite hard if you don't have your own transport. You could always check with a taxi driver how much it would cost you. Check also at the tourist office in Córdoba once you arrive.
Hi Tony. Having trouble finding ticket to Andalusia stable and horse show. Can u suggest a website for tickets. I tried there offical website but could not locate ticket sales. Noela /Australia
Hi Noela, this is the official website where you can purchase the tickets: cordobaecuestre.janto.es/espectaculo/pasion-y-duende-del-caballo-andaluz/PASIONDUENDE
Hola Tony, I will be visiting Córdoba in mid June and want to buy tickets in advance to the Alcazar de Los Reyes, I visited the Alcazar official website but cannot find tickets there, do you know where I can buy entrance tickets in advance, thank you
Hello Pauline, we checked that a week ago and it would seem the possibility of booking online the entrance to the Alcázar has disappeared, we don't know why. The best you could do is head to the tourist office (right by the mosque) to find out. All the best!
I’m planning to travel to Granada 1 day, Cordoba 2 days and Seville 1 day so total in 4 days and 5 nights ! Do you think it’s possible to cover most places of those cities ?
The courtyards, Palace, Mosque, Tower at the end if he bridge. Do you have to pay to see them if yes can you buy tickets on the day of entry. Is a day Enough to see most of these places. Good video.
You pay to see some (but not all) of the attractions you mentioned. You can check details at Córdoba's official tourism website: www.turismodecordoba.org/monuments-and-museums-opening-hours Unless you were visiting Córdoba during a very busy period (Easter, May), we do not feel it necessary to buy the tickets in advance. As for the time needed, check out the end of the video, where we share advice on the issue.
@@Sultan11-MF in normal circumstances, which obviously are beyond our control, you should be ok. But if you want to guarantee your ticket, buy at least the entrance to the Mosque in advance.
@@emilyserafamanschot800 when was that, Emily? Today, you are allowed to take pictures inside the mosque. The only explanation I can think is that the rule was different when you visited the monument.
We were last there in 1996. Time for another trip back! We have visited Spain many times but have not been in Andalucía since then.@@ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal
the infusion of jewish, moorish and christian cultures over the centuries make Cordoba a uniquely beautiful place to visit and get lost. The people are friendly and helpful; the food tasty and creatively presented. Try natillas; a creamy andalusian dessert. Thank you for your video.
Thank you, Manny, Córdoba is truly exceptional. Natillas are found all throughout Spain, they are one of the most common desserts in the entire country, with quite a few regional variations. All the best!

I got to visit Córdoba on our way to Sevilla years ago, unfortunately I didn’t have enough time to explore the city. I missed out on so many beautiful sites which I discovered in your video. But I did enjoy our visit to the Mesquita which was really a marvelous experience. Looking forward to our next road-trip. 😃 😃
Thank you, Jasper, nothing should prevent you from visiting the same city twice! All the best!
At 12:14 you mentioned that you will have a separate video about the Mosque Cathedral and that there’s going to be a link to it. I couldn’t find the link, nor was I able to find the video by searching. Am I missing something?
We haven't recorded that video yet, need to go back to Córdoba.
Thank you, Tony! It would be funny if we ran into you too when we visit the Mosque Cathedral. I’ll say ”hi” if I do ;) of course, I’ll make sure not to interfere with the filming.
@@herika006 that would be great! We spent last Christmas in Córdoba but are not planning a return soon.
Hi Tony ! Thank you for this great video . Do we need do buy any tickets in advance for any of the places you suggest to visit ? Thank you 😊
There are plenty of tourists around these days but I would say no, there is no need.
@ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal would a day trip to Ronda be possible from Cordoba? Thanks
I wish you do a similar video about Granada
It's in the wish list.
Such a wonderful video. Going next month. How many days did you take to visit all of this?
Most people stay in Córdoba just the one night, but you would have to leave out quite a few places if you only had one day. Try to spend two or three nights, so you can also visit Medina Azahara: ua-cam.com/video/0A3LZKB-E8w/v-deo.html All the best.
Hi Tony, great videos and what great information you provide, anyone travelling to Spain and Portugal can refer to your channel for every little detail.
Do you think in your expert opinion it is possible to do a day trip to Cordoba, leave Madrid early and return from Cordoba in the evening.
Hi Shazly, the day trip, using the high-speed train, is possible, but with so much to see in Córdoba, you'll end up rushing from one place to another.
Thank you for the tips. Do you know the opening hours for Alcazar of the christian monarchs? I will be visiting Cortoba on Friday and there is no information online if it is open on Fridays.
Yvonne, it opens, from Tuesday to Friday, from 08:15 to 20:00, and on Saturday and Sunday, from 09:30 to 18:00.
Hi Tony. We are spending 3 nights in Cordoba ( taking your advice and slowing down to have quality time in each destination)
Thinking of doing a day trip to Granada.
Hello Tony and Cecilia, we love your videos. Incredibly helpful! If we want to go to Medina Azahara, what is the best way to travel there?
I answered my own question by finding your video on Medina Azahara!
We were just about to copy the link to that video for you!
@@ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal Gracias Tony!
Hi Tony. Thank you! We will buy our tickets tomorrow via the Traintime link on your UA-cam channel. 😀
That’s great, thank you!
Thank you Tony. We’ll take this into considerations.
@@paulineauyeung2161 We are in Córdoba now, it's 43 C. Crazy warm but it is beautiful here!
@@vladtepes6690 thank you for your kind words and if you need any help, let us know!
환타스틱, 코르도바~
Indeed, it's a wonderful city we are passionate about.
Can Cordoba be the base for a trip around Andalusia or is Seville better? My only issue is seville is 2 hrs away from Granada and Malaga
None of the cities you mention can be contemplated as day trips, so you would need to stay in each one of them. Many people do Córdoba as a day trip from Seville, but as you will have seen on the video, there are too many interesting things to see in Córdoba.
Hi Tony
Travelling on ALSA between Granada - Cordoba, how early must one be at the bus station?
Regards
Amy
You could get there 10 minutes before departure, but we always try to arrive 30 minutes in advance to allow for any delays getting to the station.
Ok, great.
Hi Tony 😊
I am very impressed with your video.
Thank you Tony. Found and booked😊
Absolutely not. We recommend a minimum of three nights in Granada and three nights in Seville.
Un día Granada un día Córdoba ?? Imposible!!
@@hoosomio I did stay 2 nights in each city at the end 😊
Are there any tickets that you feel I need to buy in advance for an August visit? And yes, I know it will be very hot! 😬
August is low season in Córdoba, so we don't feel there is any particular need to book tickets in advance.
@@ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal Thank you!
We are coming to Cordoba in May 2023 and spend almost a month with family. How can we connect with you?
You have already done so! We reply to all questions related to tourism in Spain here in the channel.
Which restaurants did you eat at and which dish?
We don't have that video yet, but in this video we recommend our favorite restaurants in Córdoba: ua-cam.com/video/hAoVo1GpuWw/v-deo.html
How would you feel about letting me know, even though you don't have a video! 😊
@@ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal I was thinking of visiting in early June. Would that be ok to buy tickets on arrival.
I would say yes. May is a busy month because of a local "fiesta", but while June is not low season, is not the worst time of the year either.
@@ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal Thanks. So i should be OK to buy tickets on the day as I visit the tourist places.
@@Sultan11-MF in normal circumstances, which obviously are beyond our control, you should be ok. But if you want to guarantee your ticket, buy at least the entrance to the Mosque in advance.
In winter from Tuesday to Friday after 6pm you can access the Alcazar de los reyes Christianos for free. You're welcome.
The info we have - from official sources, is that it is free just on Thursdays after 6pm.
the Mercado Victoria looks like its dated modern structure.
Is 1 day enough in cordoba ?
One day and one night for the very basic. Check this video out with more details: ua-cam.com/video/xD9IGi7DT8c/v-deo.html
Your videos are beautiful. Did you have to get special permission to film? My husband and I almost got thrown out for taking pictures!
Thank you, Emily! We only film where photos and videos are allowed. Where did you had those problems taking pictures?
@@ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal In the Mezquita. A guy kept yelling at us "No picture, no picture!" and started following us around.
