This is one of the best videos I've watched with great explanations, illustrations, and clarifications. You are very thorough. Thanks for making the video, even 3 years later it still has value as if it is the day you've filmed it. 😃

I enjoyed watching the video and I love to see the sewing feet necessary to sew quilts. I am accustomed to sewing garments only.
Thank you for sharing and I look forward to your future videos. Have a great day!

Just discovered your heirloom sewing and Bernina feet videos, so I’ve really been enjoying them. Thank you so much! Love the tip on using Terial Magic in a mister to save on product - saving a little money whenever possible is always appreciated! You mentioned that Terial Magic prevents fraying on the edges of the cut triangles for this placemat. Just as an FYI, bias cut edges don’t fray, so they really don’t need to be sprayed for that purpose.
Looking forward to more of your videos in the future.

If you never used Terial Magic, you may not understand the "magic" of this solution. My quilt shop uses it on machine embroidery, applique and it "stiffens" fabric unlike any spray starch results in perfectly accurate cutting and pieces. In terms of machine applique, it is a game changer. Try it.

Hi I am just starting to get this runner cut out. My question is: according to the pattern you flip so that both strips with the small border facing you. According to the pattern these 2 strips are right sides together. I noticed that when you are cutting them the 2 stripis are face up. So do I cut both ends of the strips with one set of 2 useable and the other 2 non useable? This is the only part that has me a bit confused. Can you please clarify for me/
i LOVE THE OUTCOME AND HOW THIS RUNNER LOOKS, just not sure which way to cut facing up or right sides together AND/OR DO I cut each strip seperately folded in half being sure to cut the useable and the un useable?
thanks so much. Can't wait to get your answer... Im all set to start cutting the triangles.

Good morning!! Love you Kathy!! Does the terial magic help with beginning sewing when the fabric want to go down and get stuck in the machine?? Does it wash out?? Lastly honey, y'all have got to get the videos full screen.

The best thing to solve that problem is to use the straight stitch throat plate cover. That will totally prevent the fabric edge from slipping in to the machine. You can literally start on the edge of the fabric. Great for piecing or any straight stitch sewing.

I loved your video, especially your accent and personality. Don't ever be 'professional' because I like your humor and style to teaching. Thank for all of your tips.
I do have a question (not a criticism): Is there a reason why you recorded this in the vertical rather than the horizonal position with the camera? The horizonal gives a wide view of what you are doing.
