A Poya occurs every full moon. Owing to the moon's fullness of size as well as its effulgence, the full moon day is treated as the most auspicious of the four lunar phases occurring once every lunar month and thus marked by a holiday in Sri Lanka.
Buddhists have one Poya day per each month, 12 for a year.
Vesak Poya day is the Poya day of the month of May in today's calendar.
Vesak Poya day is celebrated by Buddhists all over the world commemorating the birth, enlightenment (Nibbāna), and death (Parinirvāna) of Lord Gautama Buddha.
This song titled "Maya Deviya" is about the story of the birth of Prince Siddhartha who came to be the Lord Gauthama Buddha.
Maya Deviya is the mother of Prince Siddhartha. The song describes the events that happened during the period of the birth of Prince Siddhartha.
